Unpopular opinion: Ju Fa and Tao Fa deserved a chance to be redeemed.

The only ones who didn't seek pleasure in killing people

The only ones who actually noticed Mei's disappearance and were shocked to see that others didn't

I feel like they'd have changed if Mei had asked nicely lol

I wanted them to at least meet Mei once, the others didn't give a flying tao for Mei.

Am I the only one who completely lost respect for Yuzuriha after the Senta situation in Hell’s Paradise?

So basically Senta fell in love with Yuzuriha and ended up on death’s door trying to protect her. Mind you, he had absolutely ZERO obligation to do that. She was literally a condemned criminal charged with things like false testimony and extortion, and he was just her monitor/captor.

But despite all that, he still risked his life for her multiple times.

Then when Senta is dying from overexerting himself in battle, Yuzuriha has medicine that could potentially save him… and she refuses to use it on him. Instead she gives it to another guy because he was stronger and therefore “more useful” to keep alive.

And yes, before people defend her:

- she could’ve split the dose

- she could’ve revealed the enemy’s weak point herself earlier

- she could’ve participated more directly in the fight

- or at least tried harder to save Senta

But she didn’t.

Instead she basically let Senta overextend himself because him dying actually benefited her situation. Let’s be real: she wanted her captor off the board. Even the V.O. delivery has this little smug tone when she explains that revealing the weakness exhausted him and that he “doesn’t have much time left.” It genuinely felt like she made a cold tactical decision to let him die.

And what makes it worse is that she even kept some medicine for herself “in case she might need it later.”

That’s why I can’t see her as “best girl” no matter how hot or charismatic she is. She’s entertaining and well-written, sure, but morally she’s selfish as hell. She honestly feels like a realistic manipulative shinobi/sociopath type character someone who uses charm and fake friendliness to position people for survival on that island.

It’s also kinda crazy that Sagiri barely objects, but I guess by that point she was exhausted and probably knew she couldn’t force Yuzuriha to hand over the salve anyway.

Senta died protecting someone who likely would never sacrifice herself for him in return.

For me the whole thing was basically:

Never sacrifice yourself for someone who wouldn’t even inconvenience themselves for you especially if you’re blinded by love.

Issues after finishing S2

I liked S2 a lot, and it had a lot of great moments, but there are some things that I kind of had issues with, but maybe that is because I did not fully understand them. The pacing seems to be a little off to me since they have only been there a week, and they have seemingly formed extremely strong connections willing to defend the horrendous criminals, as well as being able to destroy the Tensen with relatively little repercussions. I get that the Tensen are weaker at night, but is it really to the point that they can get destroyed in a 1v1 like Zhu Jin, or cut in half with a single slash? It just seems really dumb that they hyped these "gods" up so much, and they even get the jump on our main characters, yet still get smoked. They were studying Tao for centuries, and yet still are beaten by people who have only learned to control/ master it in the last 2-3 days? If there is an explanation for this, please let me know, or if the anime failed to do something that the manga said or explained, also let me know, because otherwise, I was a little disappointed with the series' final episodes and where the series is heading.

Should I read manga for season 2?

I watched and season 2 and liked it. Is there any content that they cut out from the manga? Maybe slower paced? Let me know if it's worth it to read the manga
