Hi Everyone, just a semi-annual quick note from the mods.

We really try to keep it neutral here. If someone is being hateful or a post is really outside the realm of regional topics, we'll step in. But we don't want to micromanage this space. Our entire goal for having a Jtown subreddit is so that people can talk to each other and find out what's going on in our region. We can't do that if we remove every post or comment someone disagrees with.

So just some notes:

1. If you don't like what a user is posting, you have two options: Downvote, or Block. If you block someone, you won't see their content. As much as we may agree that something one is spamming the sub, if it fits in the realm of "regional interest" then we're just not going to kill it.
2. Just because you disagree with it doesn't make it incivility. See above.
3. On the other side - if you're not sure if your posts are appropriate, you can always message the mods.

Lastly: shop local, go Hawks, central park is going to be awesome.

Hear ye hear ye, ’tis one week ’til the Allegheny Independent Media 501(c)3 launch party at Studio 404 on July 8 at 7pm at 404 Messenger St in the Hornerstown section in Johnstown.

I love that almost every county has a state park.

Hi there 21f and I’ve been struggling to find out what events are going on around here cause I want to meet people 😂. It’s been a tough few years in the area because I don’t find anyone that clicks

Does anyone know if there’s any ballroom dance or dance social in Johnstown I can go to for fun? I already know the arts center has dance lessons but I want more of a social dance event
