mental health awareness

I hope that no one reading this has ever had to go through what I have had to go through this year and last year. The Jonesboro Police Department, the Craighead County Sheriffs Department, and the Jonesboro Fire Marshall’s have no idea what they are doing when it comes to a serious mental health crisis. I am saying this with as much grace as I can give, but I have seen everything that they have done (through FOIA and personal testimony), and it is disgusting. I don’t know if it is ignorance or lack of care for the citizens at this point. I feel sure if we had confidence and money to pursue a court case we would have won- but of course, who has that money nowadays. Thank you for listening to my ted talk-reach out with any questions.

Opinions on Midtown Apartments on E. Nettleton?

I'm moving to Jonesboro in September and I'll be in visiting in July to tour apartments. Thoughts on Midtown Apartments? Is it a safe area and decently maintained? I'm also looking at The Meadows. For context, I'm a mature student starting at ASU. I'm looking for a 1 bed-1 bath, hoping to keep rent+utilities around $1000.

Tea latte?

I’m looking for recommendations. I’ll be in Jonesboro next week and missing my homemade tea latte. Which businesses should I try? My daily drink is not sweet, just brewed black tea with steamed milk from my espresso machine. I can handle some sweetener, but not the heavy syrups, like Starbucks. A London fog would be good or really anyplace that brews tea for each drink. Are there any good options in Jonesboro? A coffeehouse would be ideal since my husband drinks coffee latte or cappuccino. (Hence why my tea lattes are made by an expensive espresso machine, because I only need the frother)

Looking for a place to jam.

I'm a trombone player that just played for a restaurant in hardy with some family.
I'm 16 years old but if i do say so myself very competent in playing (the two others I play with are too). Currently; however, I'm looking for places close to home to play at with piano and guitar accompaniments.

I deal in jazz mainly but the genres we play can be decently extensive.
We aren't necessarily searching for any money just a place to play at for an audience who may or may not care.

So, does anyone have any ideas on a place that wants a decent jazz oriented band to play at?

Internet Providers?

Hey, so I’ve been in the area for a couple years now almost into Valley View and was wondering who has the best internet around here? We’re currently using AT&T but they just increased their prices again from $120 to $150 for 300mb down, which is crazy to me, and was wanting something a bit more affordable

Any tennis players, beginner/intermediate?

Hello! My (32M) wife (27F) and I moved to Jonesboro about a week ago and once we're settled we would love to get back into tennis. We will be playing together and we mostly use the tennis ball machine but we would love to play some rallies so we can get better. Are there any leagues around or groups we can join to find players to play with?

On a side note, is there a Facebook group or a page where we can see what's going on around town (like events)?

Thank you!

Did anybody else's hair/skin freak out when they moved here?

I moved here about 3 months ago from the River Valley. I've never had issues with my hair being oily or my scalp being itchy, but after being here for the last little while, my hair and skin are really freaking out. I haven't changed any products or anything. I think it's because of a higher chlorine content; anybody else experience this when they first moved?

Lady steals from tip jar at Jb Baskin Robins

Video and clear pics of the lady are posted on fb. Not sure if posting pictures of people (even theives) without their permission is allowed on here. So not going to, but I will say a white newer Kia Soul with a red roof should be an easy car to pick out.

Stealing tips from teenagers is about as pathetic as you can get.

To be clear, I'm not condoning vigilante justice in any form, just making people aware so they don't get robbed.

A-State Winter Commencement

I’m a 30 year old female who lives in southeast Missouri.

I’m visiting Arkansas in December to attend my Master’s graduation at A-State! I have never stepped foot on the campus or in Jonesboro, only ever driven through.

What are some places I need to go/things I need to do or experience while visiting in order to be able to call myself as close to a true Red Wolf as possible? I’ve loved my experience with A-State and at this point much prefer it to my undergrad Alma mater.

Suggestions?

Anything else I need to know before I invade town for winter commencement? We have an Air BnB near Keller’s Chapel Cemetery.
