He did it on purpose!
Hello my name is Grey and i'm 18F and im trying to save 600 for college but my weekend job only barely pays for my gas to get to work and I cannot find a 2nd job.
Im great with housecleaning, some yard work such a mowing and gardening, pet sitting, baby sitting, sewing and cooking. The only thing I cannot do is general heavy labor because I cannot lift over 100 pounds.
Im willing to travel in a 20 mile radius in joplin and I have a reliable transportation.
If anyone out needs some work done you can count on me!
I'm an artist located in Jackson Michigan. I've recently been commissioned to do a piece based on the iconic red train kaboose and water tower located in Granby. I'm in need of some reference photos, unfortunately I can't find anything of quality online. Is there anyone you could point me to that could help? Ideally I'd like a photo of the kaboose, water tower, and wooden sign in the same photo.
Also does anyone in Joplin know what I'm talking about?
Thank you for your time!
A month ago a kitten was abandoned on my porch. I have cared for her and she is now ready for a good home. I weaned her and litter box trained her. She is beautiful and I would like to find her an indoor home. If you are interested please message me with information about her possible living situation with you.
I remember the name of the place, but it wasn't just a regular burger restaurant they had stuff like an ostrich burger and bone marrow if I'm remembering right it was right by highway 49. This would have been pre pandemic
She is almost 20, has autism, and is very drawn inward. Easy to get along with, and very friendly/funny, but doesn't really leave her room unless she has a good reason to. She's very into YouTube culture, art, Pokémon, and music. She's been living with us for several months now and we're worried about her not having friends and community here.
Yes, it’s like a commercial, but I’m trying to help them get the word out. Super cool staff, and who in this sub wouldn’t want to go here? Please keep it up, or tell me a better place to post it?
Hi! Me and my husband are trying to get in the swing of playing D&D again but we would like to find a group of people who are open to adding two people into their party! (my only request is that their queer friendly- we are both trans 😅)
EDIT: Had no idea that so many people would be interested, so I made a video to introduce myself, and tell you my thoughts. Thank you very much for the feedback!
I had a brick and mortar record shop in downtown Springfield, MO for a few years, and my daughter lives in Jasper County. I've thought about potentially opening a location in Joplin or the surrounding area.
I still have a great online presence and several flea market locations in Springfield, do you think there's room for another vintage media business in your area?
Any pros/cons that current business owners want to put out there when it comes to running a business in Jasper County?
I am in the very early stages of considering this, and it may never come to pass. At this point, I'm just curious to know if this is something that people in Joplin or close by would want. Let me know!
During an episode of Kristin Fisher's podcast "Endless Void," Rep. Eric Burlison appeared to... go off the rails, espousing absolute psycho-babble about several different "races" of alien life the US government has briefed him personally about as a member of Congress.
Specifically, Burlison alleged that there are a race of aliens called the "Nordics" which are "a few hundred years more advanced than us" and a race called the "Greys" who are more advanced than the Nordics and "on their way to planet Earth now."
Some quotes from the interview by Burlison included:
>I’ve heard those four classifications discussed in meetings in this office by others, but what I wasn’t expecting was for Davis to say it. I wasn’t expecting Eric Davis, you know, respected scientists, to say that.
In that quote, Burlison seems to attribute his knowledge or alleged "briefing" to publicly available quotes from PhD scientist on jet propulsion Dr. Eric Davis. Davis has in past years been cited as a source by multiple cranks and conspiracy theorists, and in each case has denied or divorced himself from these types of sensational claims about alien life.
>These aliens are human-like in shape and size and could be piloting UFOs.
This quote by Burlison is just baffling to me. I cannot tell if he has convinced himself this is true, is acting out some kind of bit, or is in the midst of an actual psychotic break.
In summary, I am of the opinion that Mr. Burlison is either (1) wasting taxpayer time and money with such sensationally untrue claims instead of discussing real legislative issues for his constituents or (2) has had some sort of mental episode while in office. The August primaries are around the corner, and Missouri's 7th district Republican voters will have the opportunity to "pull the plug" on this nonsense regardless. If they do not, perhaps Missouri's 7th could turn blue as Burlison continues to spin out on "aliens piloting aircraft" and false attributions to real US scientists instead of doing anything productive.
Obligatory acknowledgement that this is probably asked once every two weeks.
I am a mid 20s guy. I grew up here, but I was never in the know or popular.
Don’t get me wrong, I am happy to try new things and would love to experiment, but I don’t know what people do here.
Basically, let me break it down into three questions:
I’m not asking to solve all the issues or even for each of these questions to be answered, but I want to see if people can work on this together.
Edit a day or so later:
For starters, thank you for the answers. I need to go over them. I am not on Facebook, but I figured that would be the place to get connected.
I also got DMs from a couple people just looking for friends. If you are in a similar boat and need to find someone trying to form a community, feel free to reach out to me as well.
Finally, does Joplin have a discord or similar thing. Basically a community app that could be used to encourage shy and introverted people to socialize?
I just figure if people are looking for community, let’s find a tool to welcome them.
This article mentioned "pending litigation". I am curious to know what that litigation is regarding and who are the parties involved. I couldn't find anything searching. Does anyone have information regarding this?
2 years ago I proudly marched down main street with a number of passionate people and the family of a little girl who was murdered by Joplin Police through a grotesque act of negligence. Our cries were not heard and tragedy struck again January of this year when Officer Jeremiah McGough brutally attacked a 15 year old who was seeking help from 911 for a mental health crisis. Once again the City of Joplin is trying to sweep their mess under the rug. We will be standing again at City Hall on July 20th at 5pm to make sure our voices will be heard by protesting outside the city council meeting. We are demanding that accountability and justice be held for the countless victims of the stronghold Joplin Police has on its citizens and exerts with no regard for consequence.
I know this may be a lame question but as the title suggests I’m curious if there are any lower cost facilities that can do an mri. I’m on my own, currently uninsured until the first and I fear I may have a meniscus tear that needs addressed
The pictures I’ve seen before don’t do this place justice!
