I’m genuinely curious why are concrete bricks being used to build or renovate main roads instead of traditional asphalt?

As a biker, I personally don’t find these roads as stable, especially when the surface isn’t perfectly even. I’ve also noticed that when sewerage or rainwater stays on the road, the blocks can become uneven and the road starts looking quite disfigured over time.

Is there a specific engineering reason why this method is being preferred, especially for main roads with heavy traffic or it's just new method of corruption?

I’d really like to hear a different perspective on this. Are concrete pavers actually better in terms of durability and maintenance, or is there another reason behind their increasing use?

Also, is this mainly happening in Karachi, or are other cities in Pakistan using the same type of road construction as well?

From somebody that lives abroad but is often homesick & wants to return one day .. but everybody says it is gone to the dogs.. what’s the reality? Is Islamabad better? Shall I forget about pak altogether?

You finally manage to get 10–12 people together for a game.

Then someone says: “Ground book karwa lo.”

And somehow that becomes the hardest part 😭

Most people who play regularly probably already have one or two ground numbers saved.

You call the same place, ask for your usual slot, even if your preferred slot isn’t available, you often just delay the plan and take the next available one.

Because the alternative is:

Ab kon doosra ground dhoonday, number nikale, call kare, price poochay aur availability check kare?

So we keep going to the same place, not necessarily because it’s the best, but because finding and comparing alternatives is a hassle.
Maybe there’s a better ground 5–10 minutes away, cheaper or with your preferred slot available, and you simply don’t know about it.

That got me thinking:

What if you could see nearby grounds, photos, ratings, hourly prices, facilities and available slots in one place, compare them, and book directly?

Curious about a few things:

1. Do you usually stick to the same ground or compare different options?

2. Have you ever used any app/website to book a sports ground?
If yes, what did you like and what was annoying or missing?

3. If you always use the same ground, would you actually check alternatives if price, distance, facilities and availability were easy to compare?

Drop your city + sport + how you normally book.

Example:
Islamabad — Futsal — call the same 2 grounds.

Trying to understand whether the real problem is booking, discovering better options, or both.

In 2004 to 2010 there were too many RJs on different FM stations in Pakistan. There were few who were very popular like Farrukh khan at mast FM 103, Najia and Zeeshan on 105, Hasni Naveed Afridi Abu Rashid, khalil ullah farooqui and so.

That was golden era we didn't even listen we felt it. I don't know where they are right now and what are they doing🫠

Is there anywhere is Karachi where I can find dark chocolate for good price .. like not toooooo expensive?
