I'll be in Karachi in a few days, for the first time in my life.

What should I definitely visit in Karachi, and where should I eat? What do you highly recommend I do to experience the real Karachi life?

I would have liked to post this in Pakistantwenties so that I could mainly get recommendations from people in the same age group and with similar interests, but I was banned because I asked which sim Provider ist best for Karachi.

URGENT — Please help me save these cats from being poisoned (Gulistan-e-Johar)

I live in Gulistan-e-Johar in an apartment building, and for a long time I’ve been feeding a small group of stray cats that live around the stairs/roof of our building.

There is a mother cat who is almost 2 years old and her three kittens, around 4–5 months old. I’ve been taking care of them, feeding them regularly, and they are very friendly and comfortable around humans. They are not vaccinated, but they are healthy, friendly, and used to people.

For the past two weeks, one of my neighbor’s has been extremely irritated by them. He has repeatedly told my parents that we should keep the cats inside our apartment or get rid of them.

The problem is that we genuinely cannot keep them permanently inside our home. My brother, mother and father are allergic to cats and experience breathing and skin problems around them. I do bring the cats inside sometimes and spend time with them, but keeping them inside permanently is medically difficult for my family.
My family itself has no problem with the cats being around. The issue is this neighbour.

Unfortunately, things have now escalated to the point where he has threatened to kill/poison the cats if they are not removed. I am extremely worried because these cats are completely dependent on me for food and I have become very attached to them. I really don’t want something to happen to them simply because I cannot keep them inside my apartment.

I urgently need help with:
Adoption — ideally someone who can adopt all of them ( I don’t want them to be separated 🥺🥺)
A safe foster home while permanent homes are found.
A legitimate animal shelter/rescue organisation that can take them.
Or anyone experienced with stray/community cats who can help me find a safe solution.
They sometimes stay on the roof and sometimes wander outside the flats, but they always come back because they are used to being fed here.

📍 Location: Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi
If you can adopt, foster, help with transport, connect me with a reliable rescue/shelter, or know someone who can help, please comment below or DM me. I will respond to everyone I can.
I just want to get these cats somewhere safe before the situation gets worse. 🙁🙁

Please upvote/share if you’re in Karachi — even if you cannot adopt, someone else might be able to help.

Anyone living in Scheme 33? Need help finding a decent, well maintained society

Hey guys, need some advice from people actually living in Scheme 33.

We've been house hunting there for a bit now and there's just SO many societies, it's honestly confusing trying to figure out which ones are actually good vs which ones just look good on paper. From what I can tell only a few of them are properly maintained.

For some background, we currently live in Saima Arabian Villas (near 4k chowrangi) and honestly the management here has been a nightmare, plus the road coming from 4k chowrangi towards the society is basically non existent. So yeah trying to avoid a repeat of that this time around.

Things that matter to us:

  • well maintained
  • management/maintenance staff need to be living inside the society
  • road should be atleast 40ft wide
  • has to be leased since we're going through a bank loan
  • parks inside should be properly maintained
  • smaller society preferred over a huge one
  • water/gas/electricity/security all sorted, no shortages

Looking for a 240 sq yd house, G+1, budget is around 4.5-5cr.

Two societies caught my eye:

- Punjab Soudagaran

- PhiliBhit

If anyone's lived in Scheme 33 or knows a good society there pls let me know. also just curious in general how's living in scheme 33, schools nearby, hospitals, and how's the commute into the city from that side?

Thanks in advance!

Need Business Ideas for My Father!!!

My father drives our 2010 Alto on Yango and Indrive. So after covering all the car related expenses, he saves around 2,500 a day. Recently, Baba told us that the car has become quite worn out and passengers has started complaining about its condition, so Mama asked me to look for another car for under 500k.

Personally, I don't want Baba to keep driving for Yango and Indrive. He's currently 58 and drives for more than 10 hours a day, seven days a week, which is really bad for his health.

Is there anything I can do or suggest to Baba that could reduce his extremely long working hours while allowing him to earn roughly the same amount?

I've also saved around 100k Is there a business I could start for him that could help generate income without requiring him to work such long hours?

We live in Karachi.

Edit: He worked as an order booker for about eight years, mainly in areas like Korangi, Shah Faisal, and Landhi. He also has over seven years of experience as a driver.

I think when I was younger, he used to work for Jang newspaper in printing or something similar.

Fell from second floor

This poor cat fell from the second floor and is currently unable to walk. His body is also heavily infested with fleas and the severe infestation has caused painful, hardened blood and debris to build up in his fur.

Alhamdulillah, we have finally rescued him. He urgently needs medical treatment and a safe place to recover.

We need to raise Rs. 12,000 which includes:
Boarding**:** Rs. 6,000
X-ray + flea removal treatment + shower**:** Rs. 3,000
3 days of injections: Rs. 1,000/day = Rs. 3,000
Total: Rs. 12,000

He has already been through so much. We just want to give him a safe place to recover and get the treatment he needs.

Any contribution, even a small one, can help us get him through this.

Tenants not paying rent and not leaving property

How to deal with tenants that haven't paid rent for about an year and are not evicting the property claiming to have no money and keep making excuses that they'll pay soon but never do

the security deposit is not enough to make up for the unpaid rent , they are still in a debt of about 2 lakhs

how to recover the money and evict them out of our property as soon as possible ? the rent is our source of income and we are suffering financially due to it, legal action can take time and more money to hire a lawyer etc..

I need a legit and quick solution to deal with this obstacle, genuine advices and help is appreciated.

Is starting a coworking space/library in BTK a good idea?

I already have a place and some office furniture, so I'm thinking of turning it into a small coworking/library space with reliable internet, a coffee machine, and some books. I’ve always wanted to be a librarian and I’ll soon be unemployed so I want to give this a try but dont want to burn my savings. I’ll also clean and maintain the space myself.

We are looking to file our corporate tax returns and handle employee taxation. If anyone can recommend a reliable lawyer in Karachi who understands the IT sector, software export licenses, and current tax slabs, please let me know.

From Karachi.

Starting a baking bussiness from zero.

Hello everyone, first of all. This isn't a marketing or promotional inquiry; it's a general question about a hobby/business I have been considering.

So I have been interested in baking for a long time, but I never actually got to do it as a hobby. I do it casually at home, baking pizzas, brownies, and even plain cakes sometimes. But I always wanted to do it as a hobby or business, as I have a job and would even manage to make a small investment. I don't want to start very big, like pizzas and cakes and all, but I wanna start with something easy and small, like brownies or cookies. I am still doing my research, but the market is very saturated, and I am just doing it as a hobby so I don't regret later that I never even started.

So it will all start from zero. I will be doing a test thing in a month or two with a very minimal investment, just to check. I will be doing it from home at the start, and we will see how it goes. Also, I have no idea of bussiness, totally my first time, but I am looking forward to your thoughts, guys.

People who struggle mentally; do you find comfort in mild physical illness/pain?

Not talking about self infliction of any kind. Asking people who suffer from GAD or depression or PTS or other non-personality disorders. Do you guys feel being in pain (for instance muscle cramps, headaches, high fevers, or even fractures) are an extremely good distraction from thoughts that are usually free to assault your mind?

Ive experienced calmer mental state, easier sleep, and less of a need to distract myself from thoughts using my phone or people. When I have high fevers and twice when I have had serious injury. And no its not the pharmaceuticals because I have experimented by going without them for almost a week in serious sickness. Religious people say all the sicknesses are for the best and I think I agree with them on this one.
