Sub 2000 Gen 3: Thoughts for a lefty?
I can score this for $300 at my LGS. Used but never fired. How does this function for a lefty?

So, I just went to the range and I was able to fire 3-5 rounds from my KP50 at a time. Then intermittently, I pull the trigger and the hammer drops and the hits the firing pin but I get a light strike. I’m only about 200 rounds in.

Had an out of battery detonation. Blew the safety off and cracked the frame. As we all know, their customer service is awesome. It took maybe like two weeks, including the shipping time. They replaced the frame and almost everything inside and even polished the feed ramp for me. I thought that was pretty cool.
3 weeks to be inspected for the issues I had( a lot of black powder on arm after shooting and some peppering in face. They replaced slide assembly, barrel (polished feed ramp), lower and I believe the mags (unless they readded the orange rust protective). Also new iwb holster!
I just ordered some goodies for my sub2k what do yall think?
Does anyone know where to find the +3 grip extension? It's not listed on their site to buy but says you will be able to get them? Wasn't sure if someone knew a source before I have to call keltec tmrw
I bought a new P17 from a LGS today and didn’t notice these gouges in the polymer until I got home with it. Has anyone ever seen this on a new KelTec? It kind of looks like a tooling gouge or something. I’ve already submitted a support ticket with KelTec and will likely contact the LGS tomorrow about it too. Disappointing to say the least. I can’t believe I didn’t notice it before paying.
Just sharing because I love seeing ppls different set ups and this is mine
I'm relatively new to guns in general. Most of the rifles I've been looking at have the barrel higher than anything else but optics/sights/rails, but SU16 has something else between those things and the barrel, almost shaped & positioned like a second barrel. The bipod legs attach to it, but it can't be just for them, because that could've been put below the barrel.
It doesn't seem like you'd put something there unless it needed to be there, and it seems about even with the gas piston's handle, so at first I thought that might be part of the gas piston mechanism. But a search for other gas piston rifles at a retailer's website yields a bunch of rifles which don't don't seem to show this in their pictures.
(My main alternative to compare with SU16 would be Ruger's Mini-14, which has the barrel on top but has its own other mystery: the thing protruding from the barrel to the right like a tiny awning or stove vent hood as if to protect your fingertips from rain while holding the rifle.)
I used my KS7 at the firing range and things did not go really well. I was using the Federal shorty mini slugs. And eveytime I rack up the action (with authority!), the shell would get jammed perpendicularly to the bore and the magazine tube. And I have to fix it manually using my finger so I can fire my next round. It also weird that I’ve seen so many you tube videos showing that their KS7 eats all kinds of mini shells from aguila to challenger and federal. Anyone had the same experience with their KS7 and gow did you fix it??
First day with my RFB out at the range, getting the scope zeroed and adjusting the gas.
The problems however...
---> primers were being dented but not going off. HUGE safety hazard.
I had one double feed, don't know why. Looked like the rounds got chewed up a bit.
One round went off half a second after the trigger was pulled
On one occasion, the RFB locked back when there were still rounds in the magazine
I didn't lubricate or clean it as it hadn't been fired prior to this. Is the issue the firing pin? The gas? The ammo? Should I send it in to Keltec and have them look at it?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Decided to dive into another holster where options are limited. This time for the PR-3AT. Some design constraints:
This time I took a different approach to avoid some pitfalls of kydex offering. By filling in negative space and hard edges, this really removes almost all the printing from a traditional holster that screams "gun!"
I also rounded and smoothed areas that protrude when a tightened belt presses against the wing. The back side is smooth and devoid of any hard edges to avoid hot spots.
There's adjustable positive retention and the already-concealable PR-3AT now disappears in AIWB form.
I hope Keltec starts selling the 10rd magazine housings as an accessory. This would absolutely vanish.
I've mostly dialed in the dimensions and wanted to drop a model here for anyone who wants to print their own. It's strictly a free holster for 3D printing enthusiasts. It's more comfortable than commercial options I've tried and addresses some of my dislikes with thermo-molded holsters. Unfortunately, I've had to billboard it with FREE to discourage people from selling the design (I've had problems with that before).
So feel free to download and print. Let me know what you like and don't like about the design.
My 2026 KelTec P17 has been having extraction issues where the spent .22 LR cases get stuck in the chamber. While inspecting it, I noticed what looks like a divot or possible crack next to the feed ramp where the barrel meets the chamber. Is this normal on the P17, or does this look like a damaged barrel? Has anyone else with a 2026 batch seen this?
Hope it still fits in the holster
just bought one on PSA. i own glocks but never a keltec. got some various hp, hopefully it works. also PSA is cheaper than gunbroker. who would of thunk
