And with that the dream of a new KI is likely over.

It's sad that KI 2013 never got ported to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms before he left. But with the work done moving the online infrastructure to PlayFab for the Anniversary Edition we will always be able to play the game we love.

I've been thinking about some new character ideas for Killer Instinct.

What if the game introduced two Weather Gods, similar in concept to Raiden and Fujin, with one mastering thunder and lightning while the other controls wind, storms, and hurricanes?

Another idea would be Weather Djinn, inspired by the elemental style of Thundurus and Tornadus from Pokémon, but with their own unique Killer Instinct design and lore.

They could serve as heroic protectors who fight alongside the Night Guard and the Alliance to stop Gargos and his demonic minions from conquering Earth.

Do you think Weather Gods or Weather Djinn would make a good addition to the Killer Instinct roster? What abilities, designs, or backstories would you give them?

I've been thinking about some ideas for brand-new original fighters that could expand the Killer Instinct roster. The series has always mixed mythology, monsters, sci-fi, martial arts, and horror, so here's my concept list:

- Vampire King – Ruler of the ancient Coven.

- Sharkmen Gladiator – A legendary warrior from Atlantis.

- Wendigo Commander – Loyal servant of the Vampire King and leader of his Wendigo horde.

- Harpy Homunculus – A genetically-created winged creature with gas and smoke powers.

- Djinn – Master of the wind and storms.

- Demigod of Weather – An ancient thunder deity wielding lightning and weather manipulation.

- Aztec Luchador – A masked wrestler empowered by an ancient Aztec spirit.

- Hermit Master – An elderly martial arts master similar to the wise sages of classic fighting games.

- Brute Ape – A powerful primal beast with overwhelming strength.

- Female Psychic – A dark empath with telekinetic and shadow abilities.

- White Tiger Ninja – A spiritual rival and counterpart to Jago.

- Spirit Detective – A supernatural investigator inspired by Sherlock Holmes.

- Mad Scientist – A genius inventor creating unstable experimental weapons.

- UltraTech Police Officer – An elite law enforcer equipped with advanced technology.

- Bollywood Hero – A charismatic martial artist with flashy, cinematic fighting techniques.

- Rebel Punk Speedster – A fast, unpredictable street fighter.

- Cyborg Ninja – A high-tech assassin created to rival Fulgore.

- Insect Mutant – A horrifying insect-human hybrid with venom and swarm attacks.

- Female UltraTech Agent – A blonde elite operative specializing in espionage.

- Chairman of UltraTech – The ruthless mastermind behind the corporation.

- Vampire Hunter – A gunslinger inspired by Van Helsing.

- Lovecraftian Shadow Lord – An ancient cosmic horror who becomes the new Shadow Lord and Demigod of Death.

- Minotaur – A colossal warrior serving as Eyedol's herald.

- Tengu Demigod of War – A winged warrior wielding divine martial power.
