Morally Ranking every character featured in Death Battle: Day 16! Where would you guys rank each of the Killer Instinct combatants, and why?

The criteria for each tier goes as follows:

  • Exalted- Individuals who stand as a symbol of moral virtue and kindness. They're not necessarily flawless, mind you, but they always go out of their way to lend a helping hand and see the good in others where most won't, even in spite of having nothing to personally gain from doing so.
  • Good- Those who are all-around dedicated to preserving order for the setting they live in and protect those they care about. Be it through their ego or vindictiveness however, they display enough notable folly to prevent from being wholly admirable.
  • Moral- Generally affable and good-natured people all around, but aren't too outgoing when it comes to heroics and/or charitability. That, or they're generally considered on the right end of the moral spectrum IN SPITE of their otherwise serious flaws.
  • Neutral- Where the line between good and evil is blurred on a teetering scale of equal parts admirable actions and immoral indecency.
  • Impure- Denoting who, while not necessarily "villainous" through-and-through, still aren't very pleasant individuals to be around for the most part.
  • Evil- He/ she who is indisputably a villain, but is way off from being the worst of all time. Behind the cold, hard exterior, their lies a deep-seeded sense of vulnerability that leads the bad guy to show care towards others or put aside their differences with the hero every once in a while to stop a common foe.
  • Vile- The SPECIAL kind of evil that just leaves you sick to your stomach, there is no depravity that these villains won't stoop to an ends means in order to get what they want. And for certain few, depravity itself is the end goal!

The answers with the most comments win.

Restoring the M-Rated Soul: A Veteran's Proposal for a Tone Reset and a $3-$4 Ultimate Kill Pack

"I am a veteran of the original 1994 SNES black cartridge era. First, let’s be clear: the current 2D gameplay, combo mechanics, and Shadow Lab technology are 10/10 perfection. Do not change the mechanics in the next game. You have the best-playing engine in the industry—but it is currently trapped in a ‘Corporate Straitjacket.’

The soul of Killer Instinct is being suffocated by safety nets and over-explanation. Here is how to fix the crisis:

  1. The $3–$4 ‘Uncut’ Solution (Ultimates for Everyone) It is not fair that only a handful of characters have Ultimate Kills. I understand the ‘T-Rating’ is for sponsors and e-sports, so here is the logical solution: Release a roster-wide Ultimate Kill Pack for a $3.99 price point. This allows the adult veterans to pay for the grit we want while you keep your corporate sponsorships safe for the base game. It’s a win-win for everyone.

  2. Chief Thunder and My Heritage I am half-Indian (my mother is half-blood, grandmother full-blood). I am telling you straight up: the modern, ‘polite’ version of Thunder is a disgrace to the warrior culture he represents. By trying to be ‘safe,’ you actually erased his spirit. A man fighting for his brother’s soul is a force of nature—he shouldn’t be a ‘safe’ grappler. Give us his aggressive headbutts and his raw warrior energy back. Stop letting fear dictate how you represent our culture.

  3. Stop the ‘Marvel-ization’ of the Lore Stop over-explaining everything. Cinder is a masterpiece of mystery; we don’t need ‘Ben Ferris.’ Jago and Orchid must remain full-blood siblings; the half-sibling drama castrates the original tragedy. Finally, bring back the body-horror: Eagle’s soul/essence should be violently trapped in Fulgore’s metal skull, not walking around as a separate happy hero.

Conclusion: The Tone Reset If there is a next game, it must be Rated M. Get rid of the ‘safety comfort.’ Stop letting marketing lawyers and corporate checklists write the script. Take the chains off. Ground the story back in the dark, mysterious, rainy streets of the original tournament. Let Killer Instinct be a killer game again."

I’ve been working on a sprite viewer for Killer Instinct (v0.1) to help out artists and fans

Just released v0.1 of Nabila 64, a native asset viewer for KI Arcade. It rescues hidden content and renders original animations directly from the raw data.

I hope someone finds this useful

If I had the power to remake this game in Unreal Engine I would've! KI1 still the best in the series.

learning combos but no real combo route guides

to start ill say this. im probably doing something wrong aka im the problem haha

when going to practice modes for KI:2013 i know theres the dojo to just learn how to play jago pretty much.. but i just want combo routes for all characters right

example say with TJ combo. i look online and i see the openers/linkers/enders.. but what about in between. anytime i try to do anything in between for combos they just drop everything.

like i go spin fist then flying knee then powerline... ain't i meant to be spamming some lights or mids or heavys in between each special move?

TJ is am example. i think i have omen down pat but im just spamming quarter circle kicks hahaha

i think overall what im asking is.. what buttons do i press inbetween each combo or more so why don't guides provide that full button press (like something id see in a tekken combo button guide)

Killer Instinct (2013) Xbox One Dojo

Hey, I need help!

I'm playing the most recent killer instinct and have been for about three days now and I've spent at least two of the three on stage 16 of the dojo. It is literally impossible, I swear, I don't know why I can't do it like at all. I got so frustrated I went online and played a bunch of matches and I'm almost in silver so I went back thinking maybe I could get it, but... I can't. It doesn't seem that I can just skip to the next dojo level, so I might just have to give up on that and just hope I can somehow get better at this game.

I've also played a bit of Shadow Lords and I've beaten Hisako's story mode no problem. If anyone has any advice please share, I'm losing my mind and I just want to get this over with. I wanna play without feeling like I'm missing a bunch of things I should know 😞

In the new movie, in the comic-con scene, Johnny looks to a neighboring stand with a crowd around an influencer. This character is referred to as Black Orchid, which is the name of a character from the Killer Instinct games, another fighter series from the 90s. Coincidence? Or Easter egg?
