Klarna order failed/canceled through Apple Pay — Chime has my $230 pending. How long did yours take?

I tried to place a Klarna order through Apple Pay this morning around 6 AM for about $230. The order failed/canceled, and I revoked it through Apple Pay around 2 PM.
The $230 is still unavailable in my Chime account. Klarna told me it could possibly be released within 24 hours, but also said it may take up to 7 days. Chime is telling me 5–7 days.
Has anyone used Klarna + Apple Pay + Chime and had a failed/canceled order like this? How long did it actually take for the money to become available again?

issue with refund

now please don't judge me here, i need some help but maybe i've been stupid i don't know 😓

so 3 months ago i made a payment on neokyo which is a proxy service in japan to get goods from japan. i used the one time only card for this purchase, i like using this card for purchases like this because paypal fees are very high. it was a secondhand item and it ended up being sold out earlier than my proxy could secure it for me. i ended up getting a full refund and that was sent to my paypal because that's the only way i could get my money back. i immediately reported the issue to klarna so i didn't have to pay the bill anymore.

klarna didn't agree with it at first because the money was refunded to paypal, not to klarna. i reached out to them and provided all information and they told me that it was a huge help and things would be okay.

now today, they sent me another email saying i still have to pay the bill. i already got the refund well over 2 months ago, and since i bought this item with some friends i refunded them their part of the money as well. i'm not sure but it doesn't seem fair that klarna is still asking for this money right? i couldn't get the money back to klarna any other way and i've explained this to them a couple of times but now i'm still getting billed for something that i never received.

what do i do in this situation? i feel so dumb but i really don't know what to do

Klarna card activation issue , anyone had the same problem?

Hey guys, I’ve been trying to get my Klarna card activated for a while now, but it just won’t let me.
I do have a Klarna account, but when I try to activate the card, I get the message I’ll attach in the screenshot.

I had a Klarna account a long time ago, but I deleted it, and it’s been way more than a month since then.

I contacted Klarna support and spoke to an agent, but they basically told me there’s nothing they can do because the decision is made automatically by their system. They can’t see the reason why I’m not eligible, change anything, or manually activate the card.

So I’m wondering if anyone here has had the same issue, especially after deleting an old account and creating a new one. Did you ever manage to get the card activated? Was there anything you did that actually worked?

I’d really appreciate any advice because I’m honestly running out of ideas 😅

Thanks!

First time user, can’t use?

I’m trying to make my first Klarna purchase and I’m confused about why it keeps getting declined.
I’m 18 and I’m trying to buy a $70 Vietnam War-era M1 helmet on eBay. I only have a debit card, not a credit card. The eBay listing is categorized under Hats & Helmets.
Klarna shows that I have $100 in purchase power, so I assumed a $70 purchase would be within the limit. However, when I try to check out, it initially gives me a payment plan of about $18.94 every 2 weeks.
Then Klarna offers an adjusted plan where the first payment is $32.86, followed by $14.30 every two weeks. Despite offering the adjusted plan, it ultimately declines the purchase.
I’m a first-time Klarna user, so I’m wondering if that could be the reason. Could using around 70% of my displayed purchase power on my first purchase cause it to be declined? Or is there something else I’m missing?
I’m mainly confused because Klarna says I have $100 in purchase power, but it won’t approve a $70 purchase.

Klarna is not making any sense

So as of recent, I’ve tried to make a purchase with Klarna for $53. It denied me and said it couldn’t offer me any payment plans at this time. So then, I tried making a one time use card for $54, and still denied me. However, I tried $500 and it had no problem allowing me to make a one time use card, for $59, I tried $1,000 and it allowed that for $118, none of which I took.

However, just to answer the obvious, I have no balance due, I’ve paid everything off 3 weeks ago. I used my debit card, so it was an instant payment and the money has more than settled. My purchase power is $3,500, I have never returned anything, disputed any orders, or asked for a refund.

I used klarna maybe once or twice a month, and pay it off by the end of the month each time, no exceptions.

My credit score is 738 Experian, 744 TransUnion, and 759 Equifax, and those are my fico scores, and vantage scores are a little higher.

My debt to income ratio is extremely low, my credit cards are all under 30%, or not used and at 0% utilization.

I have covered almost every aspect, and reaching out to customer service to see if there’s so sort of glitch, has proven unhelpful. I get the scripted “ the system considers many factors, blah blah blah” line.

It truly doesn’t make any sense anymore. Never missed any payments, Never late, paid in full by end of the month.

Of course this is there company, and they may approve and deny people as they see fit. But it’s just extremely unreliable. You can approve $500 to $1,000 orders, but me trying anything under $100 is a no ? 🤷🏽

You’re willing to loan me $1,000 but me only asking for $50 is where you draw the line ✍🏾????? Got it

Update: Also, for the individuals who are so above BNPL companies, why are you in this very subreddit, lol. 😂

Imagine looking down and casting stones, yet living in a glass house. 🏠 😂😂😂

And to the Moderator that commented down below ⬇️, about how I should basically have a happy attitude no matter what somebody else is saying towards me.

It’s funny when a Reddit user brought up racism against me, you got very quiet, and never acknowledged how I didn’t even respond to such filth.

But again, we can clearly see what club we’re in!!!!!!!!

Klarna is extremely Infuriating

This is the "Error" i get when i tried to Finance an E-Bike to use for Commuting to Work as of recently, which isn't all too different from the Error "We take giving out Loans serious, so we cannot approve you for this Purchase at the moment.".

It doesn't give you a reason on why, like the other Error does but just shows you this.

The Order confirmation Screen still shows up, it still lets me select what Payment Option i want to use, but literally all of them, even pay Directly gives me this exact Error.

Tried it on something Cheaper like i generally do, still the same Error.

This has been going on for the past Month now and it's slightly infuriating, but expected from Klarna at this Point.

Klarna Chat Support is AI and never connects me to a Person.

Klarna E-Mail Support is Ghosting me i am their Ex.

Call Support is friendly yes, but all i get is "We cant do nuthin, byebye have a Nice Dayyyyyy".

I always pay on Time, sometimes even way earlier than required.

There have been Errors in their Service going on, causing a Payment not going through at one Point of which the Payment was due in Two Days.

I also wanna add that this is my Second attempt.

I did it once before but i had to Cancel the Order because i suddenly had to stay with my Parents for Two Weeks for Family Reasons so i had no way to accept the Bike.

I paid the Interest Charges immediately.

Just wanted to mention they are a frustrating Bank to communicate with because they do NOT communicate with you, they'd rather burn you alive on Display.

Okayyyyyy have a nice dayyyyy byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Klarna asking for full bank access to “verify identity” AFTER I’d already uploaded my passport - this feels excessive

Has anyone else had this recently?

I was going through Klarna’s Spending Power process and, just a few steps earlier, had already been asked to verify my identity using my passport. Fine.

Then Klarna tells me I need to connect my online banking to “verify my identity”.

That already felt excessive. If you’ve literally just verified me using a government-issued passport, why do you now need access to my banking as well?

I bank with Lloyds, so rather than connecting my main current account, I connected one of my Lloyds savings accounts. It’s a genuine account in my name and I authenticated it directly through Lloyds.

Klarna then came back saying the account was “not suitable.”

And that’s the bit I really don’t like.

If the purpose is genuinely just identity verification, why isn’t a successfully authenticated Lloyds account in my name suitable? What exactly are they looking for that requires my main current account?

It makes me wonder whether the bank connection is actually being used for something more than the wording suggests — e.g. looking at balances, income, transactions or affordability — which is a very different proposition from simply saying “we need this to verify your identity.”

I’m not claiming Klarna isn’t entitled to carry out affordability/fraud checks. If they need a current account for a creditworthiness assessment, just say that clearly.

But:
Passport → verified
Bank connection → “to verify identity”
Savings account in my name → “not suitable”
Presumably now wants my main current account
…feels unnecessarily intrusive and, at minimum, poorly explained.

I’m certainly not going to give a BNPL provider access to my main banking history just because a screen vaguely tells me it’s needed to prove who I am.

Has anyone else in the UK had this new Klarna process? And has anyone found out what they actually mean by an account being “not suitable”?

Failed Purchase

I tried to buy a ps5 from PlayStation Direct using Klarna at checkout. I set up the Klarna plan and when it went back to the PlayStation website the checkout never happened. I never got an email from PlayStation and the purchase shows as pending in Klarna.

I’m assuming the purchase will cancel or just fall off if PlayStation doesn’t take the money? How long will it take for this to happen? I’d hate for the first payment to come due in a month and I’m paying for an order that was never even placed.

Refund Problems

I purchased a holster a few months ago. Wasn’t satisfied with the quality and returned it the other day. I was issued a refund of $138 that went to my Klarna balance but now they’re trying to say I have to make the final payment today. Why should I have to finish making payments on something I returned and was refunded for? That doesn’t sound right. When I returned another item last year, they paused the payment plan and eventually canceled it. Is this how it’s supposed to work? I still have to make the final payment?

Does Klarna offer longer financing plans for one-time cards in the UK?

Hi, I’m trying to figure out how Klarna’s financing plans work in the UK since I can’t find a concrete answer online. When I checkout with apps that have native Klarna support (eBay) I’m offered longer financing plans such as 6 or 12 months. However when I want to purchase something from an app that doesn’t have Klarna support I have to use the one-time card which for some reason limits me to just the standard 3 month plan. Is this a regional thing or are longer plans available to users who are eligible? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can we claim a refund from Klarna for a fraudulent Booking.com property?

My friends booked a property in Bath through Booking.com for 29 August. One friend paid for the booking using Klarna’s Pay Later option—not Pay in 3.

Since booking, we’ve discovered several reviews saying that the property is fake and that previous guests were unable to access or stay at it. The owner is completely unresponsive, and we’ve also found evidence that the owner’s company has gone into liquidation.

We have contacted Booking.com, but so far they haven’t resolved the issue or provided a refund. We have screenshots of the reviews, our unanswered messages to the owner and the company’s liquidation information.

As the booking was paid through Klarna Pay Later, can my friend dispute the transaction directly with Klarna and get the money back? Should she report the purchase as fraudulent or as a service that won’t be provided? We want to resolve this before we are due to travel on 29 August.

Has anyone successfully claimed money back from Klarna in a similar situation?

Klarna is JOKE

I have used a credit card to automatically pay for purchases with the no interest option. Now, Midway threw the contract they no longer take credit cards for automatic payments!?!?!? Tried link a checking account, Oh wait that doesn't work either. Klarna expects me to go out and get a debit card now because that's the only form of payment they will now except. Yea, No. I guess they are out the money and legally I don't see how they can change the terms of payment in the middle of technical contract when a purchase has been made. Sounds like lawyer time.
