Holyoke, Mass K-Mart approved for demolition

This store has sat vacant the entire decade and will finally be destroyed. Building is from 1970 and opened as K-Mart on 1976. One of the few remaining stores with the logo on the building in 2026. Redevelopment will occur down the road.

Kmart from FL in Minecraft

I manage to recrate but with mess up of where the store's spilts before applications. I am not going to lie. The store gave me idea of what's its like, and compare to my few trips to my Kmart. It's sad of how far this company has fallen.

How hard would it be to recreate Kmart in Minecraft?

I want to build the Kmart in Miami, FL. Since some people said its not worth visiting it in person but If I recreate in Minecraft than I can see how the mighty giant has fallen. Is there any Minecrafters here if so how hard would it be to make that location?

Then And Now: Former F&N/Sears Department Store at Southcenter Mall in WA State

Later Sears from 1994 to 2024, 5 years back in April 2021 they downsized to 2 functioning sales floors. This was the last location in the state of Washington to shut down on December 15th of 2024 and it was in terrible condition. As of the day of this post, the last Sears on the West Coast is at the Sun Valley Shopping Center in Concord, the last in California, one of 5 left in the United States of America.

F&N stands for Frederick and Nelson. Founded in 1890, 4 years after Sears was founded as R.W. Sears Watch Company and 2 years prior to the start of Sears Roebuck and Company, F&N was once a department store chain in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. They closed up shop in 1992. Meanwhile the Sears department store itself was originally located in Renton before 1993. This anchor itself was built in 1968 and location in the Southcenter Mall opened sometime in March 1994. Anyone have any grand opening pictures of this location, along with the Sears in the Spokane Valley Mall store that opened in 1997 and closed down on February 16th of 2020 ?

When And Why (And Where Did Your Local) Sears Get Rid Of Craftsman Lawn And Garden (L&G) ?

As this Wednesday marks exactly 99 years since Sears started the brand Craftsman on May 20th of 1927 I thought I would be sharing these pictures of what the Sears website's lawn and garden page looked like in the 2000's as well as the old pictures of various Sears locations from the 2010s decade: the first one in my home state of Washington, the last location in South Dakota that has since been slated to become a Dicks House of Sport, and some that made it through the 2018 bankruptcy and the 2020-2021 coronavirus (covid 19) outbreak / pandemic and closed in 2023 and 2024, as well as the 3 out of 5 that are still open to this day.

When and where did your local (and nearest) Sears store get rid of Lawn and Garden (L&G) and why did the retailer get rid of that site wide and in store ?
Mine did at the Southcenter Mall in Washington State sometime back in 2020-2021 due to the October 15 2018 bankruptcy

How come Kmart in Miami is still open?

I hope to see the store one day, as I used to have a Kmart near me but the store is long closed now. I am wondering, how this Kmart location hasn't closed yet. I know the other stores like Guam and Virgin Island basically have no other retail name like Walmart or Target. But how Kmart in Miami FL hasn't closed.

Big Kmart -- store #3216

That small fire inside that Kmart occurred on July 27, 2000. Here you can see pictures of what Big Kmart was like in 2000 while showing signs of fire as firefighters were trying to extinguish smoke inside a few aisles that were impacted by smoke. Also featured are a few newspaper snippets from the Hartford Courant.

The Original Kmart -- Garden City MI, Closed 2017, demolished 2020.

building was sadly demolished in 2020 after it closed in 2017. I got to look inside in 2018, after dad bought a pet snake at "Larry's House of Pets." We still have him and my dad loves reptiles.

Do they really think Kmart.com has any traffic?

With there being Amazon, Walmart and other online shopping websites what made them think that they can have a successful Kmart website? That ship has sailed years ago.

Farewell, New Lenox, Illinois, Kmart.. you are already missed

Truly, a sad moment for me. As a native to the town I remember a time when it was the best place to get groceries in town. My dad got banned from jewel for stealing so Kmart was our only option for years lol

I also remember throwing up in the back of the Kmart after drinking a Fanta that I got from a vending machine in the bicycle aisle? Why put a vending machine in the bicycle aisle? I have no clue.

Updated list of Sears and Kmart locations in 2026

Concord, CA

Coral Gables, FL

El Paso, TX

Orlando, FL

Kmart

Kendale Lakes, FL

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

Tamuning, Guam

Unconfirmed Sears pop up locations

Houston, TX (supposedly open during summer 2026)

Tucson, AZ (supposedly open during summer 2026)

Unknown Florida location from July to December 2026 (could be anywhere but my educated guess based on Transformco's property records would be Coral Springs, FL, otherwise Palm Beach Gardens, FL which is the last one they've closed)
