I can see it possibly being useful "one stop shop" for managing routes and especially areas. But for Routes seems like it's just Saved Routes tab ordered differently.

On similar subject, I see you can "Download custom area" from Region sub-tab. When you press it you then select a bounded area and then toggle an 'Offline map' switch at top and/or click 'Download this area' button. I'm a bit daft - what does the toggle do?? It's the same interface when you click the new orange offline button in Routes tab.

On a totally unrelated subject, I see that premium Settings page is now via the obnoxious Home screen ? Bit weird, but ok.

Also the street view for Highlights is weird and breaks the page layout once you exit (plus the weird Google inset map shows nothing?)

Lastly, have the Devs tested dark mode across the app? The maps are a muddied mess and in some settings pages text and UI elements become invisible (see Garmin Connect page)

I cannot see the EV routes, is it locked behind premium??

If so I'm done with Komoot, it was already dangerous enough sending me on high speed roads but if I can't even see the bike paths, it has no use at all

I’ve had a number of problems with Komoot (on the Premium thing just now to see how it goes). One in particular is so annoying (for me). See screenshot of the top of my iPhone screen added in post below.

Every time I start a ride using the Komoot ‘app’ on my Garmin, and then finish it in the same way, then saving it (then Garmin connect then doesn’t thing and distributes it to Strava etc), I’m left with Komoot constantly running in the background (it shows as a permanent banner at the top of the iPhone screen) Other than just finding my trial and deleting it, is there a known fix for this? Or is it a known bug?

For what it’s worth I’ve tried:
Reopening Komoot on the iPhone and force closing it. Made no difference.
Force closing it and then switching the phone off and on. Nope - it’s like Japanese knotweed - you can’t kill it.
Tried serious things like Bluetooth off and on, multiple phone off/on, even more Komoot shutdowns.

Notes
- during one of these I did get asked to fill in some info about the ride in the app. Weirdly way later than the ride had already propagated elsewhere. Did that. Thought that might ‘tick a box’ in the software but no - still have the pop ip.
- the Garmin has been switched off properly for a couple of hours now so it’s not connected to that anymore.

While I’m at it - I’ve been using it to follow other people’s routes and it’s been good for that compared to Garmin routing. Somehow the prompts are more intuitive for me. I like that you can download ‘areas’ of maps and then delete when you don’t need them anymore. I’ve found routing to be better that Strava though even Komoot still throws in funnies like insisting you go round three houses on a path when you’re in a 10 miles cycle path just because it’s found a bit of path it can call ‘gravel’.

So - overall it seems pretty good to me so far. I’m just worried about the software side of things. It feels like the Komoot ecosystem can’t handle its integrations. (There was another scenario as well a few days ago and I’ll try and remember what that was. That required an iOS app uninstall reinstall and authorisation again to Garmin. Was something to do with Komoot just being blank on the Garmin screens

It seems to happen everyday - there's a perfectly good bike or backroads path that other apps (cycle.travel) take you on, but Komoot happily routes you along the A Road (aka superhighway of death) next to them instead.

I just don't get it. Doesn't Komoot exist to route cyclists around busy car routes? Why wasn't the first line of code in V1 of the app many years ago "avoid highways"? I can see the alternatives on the Komoot maps - it knows they're there - so what is going on here?

I’m doing a solo bicycle tour from Prague to Vienna and I am using Komoot for navigation. iPhone is mounted to my handlebars, with a 10,000 mA hour power bank in my top tube case to keep it running all day.

In praise of the app, I couldn’t have done this trip without it, particularly in Czechia where are many roads, paths, and streets lack signs. The navigation instructions are easy enough to follow, even when dealing with the “turn left now” when all the road is really doing is a 1 m deviation to one side.

In criticism, yesterday it really did me wrong, and did so repeatedly. It kept navigating me onto a high-speed major highway with on ramps and off ramps, lorries, and no shoulder. No matter how I reset the preferences, including “quiet“ routes, it kept doing the same thing. No matter how far I deviated from its path, it kept navigating me onto those same roads. I had to stop using it for a while to get far, far away from those highways before its navigation could be trusted. I have no idea how many extra miles I put on and how many seriously rough roads I had to follow to get it to stop. I was seriously exhausted and saddle sore at the end of the day.

Strikes me as something that could be easily fixed! Komoot should not be navigating cyclists on to roads like that. In the US, it’s the equivalent of navigating a bicycle onto an interstate highway.

As the title says this is my second post about the live sync function between Apple Watch and iPhone. If you edit a route AND HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION 5G it says: “send to Apple Watch” but nothing happens. Even if you wait or re-edit the route again.

Is there a way to bulk Download Pictures i have taken with the app or uploaded to komoot with geo tag? I only find single file Download with the native save as feature while viewing in full screen, but this is also in webp format.

I've sent a GDPR request but this is something technical and may take up to a month.

Has anyone else noticed that Komoot’s elevation calculation has gone completely out of order recently?

For the past few days, every route I plan or check comes up with unrealistically high elevation gains. Up until now, it was always pretty accurate, but right now it doesn't match reality at all.

Just a couple of examples of how bad it is:

• A big loop I regularly check that usually has around 3,500 m of climbing is suddenly showing 4,500 m (an extra 1,000 meters out of nowhere).
• Even official GPX tracks are affected: The official route for the Ötztaler Radmarathon, which historically sits right around 5,500 m of vertical gain, is currently displayed at well over 6,000 m.

I rely heavily on Komoot for route planning, but right now I can't trust the numbers at all. Has anyone else experienced this over the last few days? Did they break their elevation model/DEM data in a recent update?

I'm about to export my last few days routes that I've done, but I have to do them one by one. It's a pain. I want to just push to select multiple activities ,​export them all, at ince, sequentially , ​not have to dig into, export, ​then back out to do the same for the next one etc

Hey Komoot team,

here is the thing. I haven't visited Komoot for a while - mostly due to testing on users, sorry to say that - and today stumbled upon new feature, in German "Gipfelsammlung" (I suppose it's either Summits collection or so in English).

Now the question: apart from the option to remove false positives (like Nördliche Linderspitze in my case, I have been nearby but haven't climbed it), it would be really beneficial to be able to get to the activity, where the summit was pulled from, don't you think? Something like a popup with the link(s).

Hi there,

during my last two or three bike rides i wasnt able to display momentary speed while navigating. The data field is there but it only shows two dashes? Navigation works, and i can even see the speed profile after the ride, so the data seems to be there. Distance, Average speed and climbing profiles all work. It worked until two weeks or so. Could this be any misconfigutation/misfunction on my mobiles side? Like GPS setting? Or did anything change on the app regarding that topic? Im using app version 2026.31.3 on an Android 12 phone. Any hints appreciated, thanks.

My Komoot hikes say "Garmin (product 4643)". It is in fact a Venu 4.

Why doesn't it say "Venu 4"? For a Venu 3 it says "Venu 3".

When creating routes and adding waypoints by dragging the track: this all of a sudden stops working after a few edits, then I have to save the route and open it again for it to work again.

When hovering over the track the small circle is no longer shown (under the cursor)

in some cases it still allows to drag the track to a different road but after saving and reopening the route the change was not saved.

It has always worked fine but when I returned lately to build some new routes it no longer is stable. It's quite annoying.

Please fix.
