Ive just read ''heal me (namkook)'' by amunsik (im sorry if its the wrong name) on ao3. Its genuinley one of THE best- if not THE best ff ive read in my entire life. So if anyone has read it do y'all have simmilar ffs or just bts ship ffs that you would recommed?
I want to try writing fanfiction for real! I wrote an EXO fanfic like 12 years ago but it was a quick crack oneshot. I do want to mention I also have dyslexia. I want to try writing stories with chapters and plot, but I don’t think I’m as literarily fluent as I think I am… I probably just need to write b e t t e r? But maybe I need a beta reader? I feel like they just fix grammar and punctuation problems? I definitely think I could just work on it and figure it out but… I might need help with plot and structure maybe? Do I need a beta reader? What should I do?
my idea is to write a story inspired by the kdrama beyond evil. seonghwa would be the detective and hongjoong the prime suspect of a series of murders. the story is supposed to be a push and pull between seonghwa believing hongjoong is guilty or innocent, of being attracted to him and appalled by him. the idea is for hongjoong to slowly break down seonghwa's moral compass, leaving him lost. in the end the reader finds out at the same time as seonghwa, how guilty hongjoong really is and what really happened. it's meant to be dark, mysterious and most importantly morally ambiguous. no character is meant to be "good", they are all meant to be flawed (such as the likes of characters in shows like interview with the vampire).
would anyone be interested in reading something like this?

Looking for a BTS fanfiction I read a while ago and can’t find again I think I originally read it A03 and I fear it may happen. Delete it Details I remember:
• College setting
• Hobi is the main dance leader in their college program.
• Jimin and Yoongi are dating and meet during college
• Yoongi used to be active in the underground rap scene but stepped away from it and is producing or studying it.
• Jimin discovers or is influenced by one of Yoongi’s older mixtape/underground tracks and performs it in his showcase and Yoongi got emotional
• A friend of “Be Free” is Jimin’s roommate (not sure who exactly) but it came out once BFREE was bullying Jimin after the showcase
• One of the key scenes includes an underground rap battle involving Yoongi jhope and rap monster
• They perform Cypher Pt. 2, and “Be Free” is part of the opposing side in the rap battle
• Side pairings included Taekook and Namjin
• Was super fluffy like adorable and on top of that I remember TAE is like buck and throws a brick at the rap battle and hits bfree in the nose

So I got bored and decided trying to work out a xikers Pokémon AU was a good idea.
Naturally, this meant me scrolling the Pokédex site to build a full team of 6 for each of the 10 members. ...yes, I lack a life.
Rule #1: They're just normal guys in the Pokémon universe. No legendaries, mythicals, or other super-rare Pokémon that aren't obtainable through standard means.
When it came to how powerful I wanted their teams to be, I wanted it to be similar to the teams NPCs such as Gym Leaders run in the main-line games. Not designed for competitive, carrying a few powerful Pokémon but also a few "mid" Pokémon that are not objectively the strongest. Vibes/lore > competitive meta.
Similarly, I also decided to build type-specialized themes. Partially also just to narrow things down a little bit and make this slightly more do-able.
Rule #2: 5 Pokémon that share one type, 1 "counter" that doesn't. Monotype teams are known for being infamously predictable, but xikers' lore is all about them being tricksters, so there's one surprise Pokémon that doesn't fit the type specialist theme.
General lore for the AU, xikers run a haunted house battle gauntlet, kind of like the Battle Chateau, but it's spooky and challengers will get jumped Lumiose Battle Zone style. The house is full of secret passageways and stuff but it's still a building with narrow corridors and limited space, so they can't have too many giant Pokémon.
Now, everything from here on is my "first draft". I filled out all of the teams, but you guys give suggestions for how to make these better.
Minjae: ghost team. Mismagius, Sableye, Mimikyu, Banette, Falinks, Cerulege
something about Falinks' army/team motif fits him being the leader. And Cerulege is like the perfect Pokémon for xikers' concept as it's a Fire/Ghost type with a blue fire motif.
Junmin: fire team. Armarouge, Arcanine, Ninetails, Leafeon, Chandelure, Flareon
Armarouge being the opposite branch evolution to Cerulege, Chandelure fits the haunted house setting, 2 Eeveelutions because Junmin loves Eevee. Him being the fire specialist is kinda not negotiable since he's confirmed in an interview that Flareon is his favourite Eeveelution, so I made it his ace.
Sumin: dragon team. Kommo-o, Hydrapple, Dragapult, Haxorus, Grafaiai, Noivern
Kommo-o and Noivern are associated with sound, Hydrapple is food-themed and Sumin is one of xikers' team cooks, Grafaiai because he's the artist member.
Jinsik: psychic team. Chimecho, Espeon, Indeedee, Liepard, Gallade, Meowstic
Chimecho is associated with sound, Espeon, Indeedee, Liepard, and Meowstic are all varying degrees of "cat". Also Liepard is a cat that robs people, which is perfectly fitting to anyone who's watched Chase, Snatch, Steal.
Hyunwoo: dark team. Obstagoon, Zoroark, Umbreon, Absol, Drifblim, Thievul
Obstagoon is associated with rockstars, Zoroark and Thievul are foxes, Zoroark is also an illusions-based trickster.
Junghoon: steel team. Corviknight, Perrserker, Scizor, Aegislash, Vaporeon, Metagross
Perrserker is a cat, his ssaknimals mascot is a cat (for some reason). But also... it's really hard to build a steel team that's mostly humanoid-sized or smaller Pokémon capable of fitting in the haunted house's corridors.
Seeun: poison team. Gengar, Crobat, Roserade, Toxitricity, Alolan Raticate, Nidoking
Gengar has the troll/prankster vibes, Roserade fits the haunted house setting, Toxitricity is music-themed, Raticate and Nidoking are rats, and bats are flying rats if you stretch your imagination enough.
Yujun: fairy team. Alcremie, Sylveon, Mawile, Claydol, Tinkaton, Dachsbun
Dachsbun has to be the perfect ace Pokémon for him as it's a cute food-themed dog. Alcremie is also food-themed, and Yujun's known as the group's resident snack hoarder/foodie. Mawile and Tinkaton are classic "cute but also a menace" Pokémon. I also think him being the fairy type specialist is relatively not negotiable because he's the fake maknae whose constantly seen as the cutesy one despite also being a chaotic prankster/menace in his own right, and... come on he's like the IRL representation of Baby Doll Eyes.
Hunter: rock team. Barbaracle, Carbink, Sudowoodo, Scovillain, Tyranitar, Lycanroc
Just based on vibes I want his ace to be Dusk Form Lycanroc. It's also conveniently a wolf. Scovillain is food-themed and Hunter's the other team cook aside from Sumin. Tyranitar is inspired by Godzilla and one of Hunter's dogs is named Godzilla.
Yechan: electric team. Jolteon, Morpeko, Voltorb, Vikavolt, Weavile, Luxray
Luxray and Weavile are cats/cat-like. Morpeko is cute but also an energetic chaos-causer.
Why are there so many Eeveelutions? I think it's funny from a "lore" standpoint that the haunted house happens to be on top of a wild Eevee colony so Junmin's just adopted a slightly ridiculous amount of Eevees and now they have a lot of Eeveelutions out of convenience.

Hello, I’m an author on ao3 for Markhyuck (NCT) and I’ve been writing a fic for a while (not posted yet) but with Mark literally wearing the confederate flag the other day I don’t know if I want to/should continue writing the story with him, but I’m already like 100,000 words in. When I write I don’t exactly use their real personalities and usually fit it/shape it to the world I make for the story, so I could technically change their names. Should I keep writing it as them or swap out their names for another ship? If I were to swap it out I’d probably do Yusion (NCT) since I could imagine them in the world I was writing and the personalities I wrote aren’t too off so it wouldn’t be too jarring. I’ve also been liking the Jihyuck (NCT) ship recently but I don’t think adding Jisung in this particular story would work at all and Yusion would fit better.
Also, I just made a non-personal Wattpad account I was planning to cross post my previous stories onto and I’m wondering if I even should after what Mark has done (all my previous stories are Markhyuck)

I was just thinking about how different fandoms have different.... almost like a different fandom culture and even in fanfic. Although all fandoms write all kinds of things, some tropes kind of stick out to a particular fandom, e.g BTS apparently has a lot of mafia AUs, Stray Kids are big into Soul Mates AUs, NCT has a lot of omegaverse.
My point is, what is your fandom, or what fandoms do you associate with which tropes? What would you like to see more of in your fandom?
I was reading on ao3, it was a txt fic called Have to pay (the price of separation), and when I clicked on the next chapter, the story was gone. The whole account was gone. Does anyone have any knowledge of what happened to the author? I fear they got bullied off and I hate the thought of that. The fic was really good and I'm sad I'll never get to finish it.
I've been thinking about how most the fanfics I read are simple romances like colleague aus ans stuff, not all, and not that it's bad, I like magical aus too. I think I just need to extend a branch but most of the time, tag filtering the normal way for me is a bit too time consuming (does that make sense?) and I dont care fir most of what i see. Fandoms are listed on the headline. I prefer completed fics over 50k. I'm not picky, I love consuming decaying doves even if the characters are portrayed as horrible people thenselves. Horror/psychological horror or just unconventional themes. Blood...murder...kidnapping...etc...something spooky.
