Jakich kandydatów można się spodziewać w nowych wyborach?

1. KO: chyba nie będzie tak głupie, żeby wystawić Miszalskiego znów (chociaż kto wie). Kto w takim razie? Ta osoba będzie prawdopodobnie od razu faworytem.
2. PiS: był Łukasz Kmita i przepadł, ogólnie kandydat tej partii raczej bez szans w Krakowie, dadzą kogoś z łapanki.
3. Konfederacja: jak zwykle Berkowicz czy jednak Bocheńczak (kto to?), pewnie bez znaczenia.
4. Łukasz Gibała - czy będzie faworytem? Raczej na pewno przejdzie do drugiej tury, gdzie zmierzy się z kimś z KO.
5. Stanisław Mazur - duże ambicje, ale zbyt mocno związany z Miszalskim.
6. Partia Razem - w polskim klimacie bez szans - może Owca dla przyszłej rozpoznawalności.

Pomnik Piotra Skargi nie powinien stać w tej części Krakowa nie dlatego, że należy usuwać go z pamięci historycznej, ale dlatego, że jego obecna lokalizacja jest symbolicznie niewłaściwa. Plac św. Marii Magdaleny znajduje się w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie kościoła św. Marcina przy ul. Grodzkiej, czyli jednej z najważniejszych świątyń protestanckich w Krakowie. Sam Skarga był natomiast nie tylko kaznodzieją i pisarzem, ale także jednym z czołowych przedstawicieli kontrreformacji w Polsce

W tym kontekście pomnik osoby kojarzonej z walką przeciwko reformacji, ustawiony obok miejsca ważnego dla wspólnoty ewangelickiej, może być odbierany nie jako neutralne upamiętnienie, lecz jako dominujący znak jednej tradycji religijnej postawiony w przestrzeni związanej również z inną tradycją. Tym bardziej że postać Skargi bywa łączona ze sprawą Franco de Franco kalwinisty straconego w Wilnie w 1611 roku co dodatkowo komplikuje jego symboliczne znaczenie w relacjach katolicko-protestanckich.

Dlatego rozsądne stanowisko nie musi brzmieć: „usunąć Skargę z historii Krakowa”. Bardziej przekonujące jest: przenieść pomnik w miejsce lepiej dopasowane do jego biografii i znaczenia, na przykład bliżej kościoła św. Piotra i Pawła, gdzie Skarga jest pochowany, albo do przestrzeni jednoznacznie związanej z jezuitami i katolicką kontrreformacją. Obecna lokalizacja, w sąsiedztwie protestanckiej świątyni i w reprezentacyjnej przestrzeni publicznej Starego Miasta, nie sprzyja ani dialogowi, ani wrażliwości historycznej.

Plac publiczny w centrum Krakowa powinien łączyć mieszkańców, a nie utrwalać symboliczny triumf jednej tradycji religijnej nad drugą. Pomnik Piotra Skargi, postaci ważnej, ale także kontrowersyjnej z punktu widzenia historii reformacji i kontrreformacji, nie powinien dominować w przestrzeni położonej obok kościoła protestanckiego. Lepszym rozwiązaniem byłoby przeniesienie go w miejsce bezpośrednio związane z jego działalnością i pochówkiem, z odpowiednim opisem historycznym, który pokaże zarówno jego zasługi, jak i kontrowersje.

Any recommendations for entertainment, pubs, bars, restaurants, activities, useful local tips, or things worth checking out?

And yeah, the classic bachelor party cliché applies too 😄 Feel free to recommend a legit strip club as well, if there are any worth visiting (trying to avoid tourist traps/scams).

Had a scary experience tonight 5/20 where I got bit by a dog.

I tried to get the rabies post exposure vaccination at two hospital emergency rooms, Wojskowy and Zeromski. Wojskowy said they do not offer rabies postphylaxis and directed me to Zeromski. Zeromski said they could not give me the shot until the morning and that I would need a prescription from the doctor (which maybe meant a referral?). This was between 23.30 and 01.15 or so.

Unfortunately, I do not speak any Polish or have insurance, as I’m just visiting for the week. The language barrier was really tough at both hospitals, which obviously is not their fault. Can anyone recommend a place to get the rabies post exposure shot, perhaps a private hospital or facility, preferably speaks English and/or can do it without a referral/prescription/etc?

I saw someone recommend TropicalMed on r/warsaw but I can’t tell from their website if they do post rabies shots or just pre rabies shots.

Any help or information would be SO appreciated! I’m a little scared in an unfamiliar country. Thank you so much in advance.

"I don't recommend it" is a very mild word, at least for me. For people who don't care about router configuration, etc., it'll be fine. I live in a rural area, and the only internet providers here are Play and Orange, maybe T-Mobile. I've recently been trying to install my own router (I have 1 gigabit fiber). When my new TP-Link router arrived, I called their hotline and asked, "I'd like my PPPoE login details." What did I get? The login details for the router's admin panel. I thought, okay, maybe they made a mistake, I'll call tomorrow. The next day, I called the hotline in the afternoon, and someone else answered. I asked for the same thing and was told to call the TP-Link hotline. I just wanted the username and password, which only they have, but they told me to call router support. This is a complete lack of knowledge. Some guy in Warsaw also supposedly claimed I couldn't change my router because "it's designed that way," which is illegal because the ISP has to allow me to change to any router.

Besides, I joined Play when they offered a one-year free contract with a two-year contract. That year's up, and how much am I paying? 100 Polish złoty per month (the regular rate is 40-50 złoty).

Maybe I'm not very knowledgeable, but come on.

Fundacja Wolność od Religii zwróciła się do Zespołu Szkół Rzemiosła i Przedsiębiorczości w Krakowie z wnioskiem o:

• usunięcie krzyży z sal, w których nie odbywa się katecheza,
• informację publiczną, ile krzyży wisi w szkole i kto zdecydował o ich umieszczeniu.

Szkoła odpowiedziała w sposób wymijający:

• twierdzi, że „odziedziczyła” krzyże po poprzednim zarządcy budynku,
• nie prowadzi żadnej ewidencji krzyży,
• odmawia odpowiedzi na część pytań, uznając je za „niebędące informacją publiczną”,
• nie podjęto żadnych decyzji o wieszaniu ani zdejmowaniu krzyży od 2018 r.

Fundacja złożyła skargę do WSA na bezczynność szkoły, ale sąd ją oddalił.
W maju 2026 fundacja ponowiła wniosek, domagając się pełnych danych o liczbie i rozmieszczeniu krzyży oraz o tym, czy są własnością szkoły.

The full context is already there, so I will keep this focused on what happened after the post.

After my Reddit post gained visibility, Vistula Polish Language School contacted me about the refund.

According to the email exchange, the refund process became directly linked to removing online mentions.

At first, they said they could process the refund by 30 days, but only if certain school names were removed from my posts.

I refused to remove my posts before receiving the refund.

My position was simple: I paid 4,491 PLN for an in person Polish course that was not delivered, and after months without a proper resolution, I had no guarantee that the refund would actually be processed if I deleted the posts first.

Then the request became more specific. They asked me to remove the mention of Polish Take Away before the refund would be processed within 30 days.

I refused again for the same reason. From my perspective as a consumer, the logic was still the same: remove negative online content first, receive refund later.

I repeatedly offered a fair solution:

The school refunds me the 4,491 PLN.
Once the money is visible in my account, I remove my own posts.

I even offered to remove my own posts on the same day the refund reaches my account.

Later, I also offered to sign a written commitment limited to my own posts on my own Reddit and Trustpilot accounts.

Despite that, they still insisted that I remove the Polish Take Away mention before the refund.

At one point, they also proposed a 5,000 PLN contractual penalty if posts and comments were not removed within 7 days after the payment was credited.

I did not accept that, because I can only control my own posts. I cannot control third party comments, screenshots, reposts, cached pages, search engine results, archived copies or content copied by other people.

Honestly, I do not know how this should be interpreted legally. If any lawyer or consumer rights specialist in Poland is reading this and can give an opinion, especially about linking refund timing to removing online mentions and about the proposed 5,000 PLN penalty, I would really appreciate it.

As a consumer, this felt very wrong to me. I paid for a course. The course was not delivered. I requested a refund. Then the refund discussion became connected to removing online mentions before receiving my money.

This whole email exchange took hours and affected me a lot emotionally. I just wanted my money back so I could move on with my life.

Regarding Polish Take Away, I personally archived screenshots and screen recordings comparing the websites.

From what I documented, Polish Take Away appears connected to the same school structure. I recorded the websites before any possible changes. The layout, regulations, footer and contact details appeared strongly connected to Vistula Polish Language School.

Because of this, from my perspective as a consumer, Polish Take Away does not look unrelated.

I personally do not recommend Polish Take Away or Vistula Polish Language School based on my experience.

I have emails, screenshots, screen recordings, payment proof, the issued school document, the regulations and the full refund correspondence archived.

At this point, since the refund has still not been processed, I will need to continue through consumer and legal channels.

Please research carefully before paying thousands of PLN upfront for language courses in Poland, especially if you are a foreigner

So I have a special needs child who’s actually 14. He cannot handle something like a WWII camp but I really want to experience it with my wife and other son.

Is there a service in Krakow that could watch him that day? We would be looking to travel in either May or November.
