Kratky harvesting - start from scratch after? Are these veggies possible with Kratky?

I'd like to try growing lettuce, kale, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, basil, raspberries, peppers, and mint.

From what I've ready, it seems like all of these should be doable, but tomatoes may require a bigger reservoir. When I harvest what I want to eat that day/week (particularly with lettuce), do I have to start from scratch after and plant a new seed? Or can I just pluck what I want and have a continuous supply?

I'm not eating tons of veggies at a time but would like to up my intake too. Appreciate any advice. Haven't started my supply yet but plan to go all out next week and plant all at once in mason jars! (Though I am also contemplating using 1-2 square PVC pipes with multiple veggies in each).

Just wondering the best way to go about it!

Newby: mason jars or square PVC pipe for 5-8 veggies?

New to Kratky and want to get up and running asap. Seems like the buy in cost isn't too bad, so I'm wondering if I could have all the veggies I want in 1-2 pvc pipes. Would this be okay or should I stick with mason jars and socks?

Benefit of PVC pipe is I can utilize space better and only have 1-2 reservoirs to fill as needed. It will also look cooler and more sleek/professional.

Downside could be cleaning and maybe more prone to spillage.

The veggies I want to grow (for now):

  • basil
  • mint
  • cherry tomatoes
  • regular tomatoes
  • lettuce
  • kale
  • radishes
  • raspberries (if possible)
  • pepper (some sort, not sure which kind yet but not hot ones)

Any suggestions on jars vs pvc? Are all these or most doable with either?

Outdoor Kratky - What about the rain

I want to do some kratky growing outdoors (mostly in buckets) but when it rains, how do you prevent the rain from entering the buckets and interfering with the nutes/rations/etc???

New to Krakty & Hydroponics

I don’t really know much about plants or hydroponics, but I do want to start growing plants to donate to a few local food pantries in my city (Pittsburgh) I got a stronger light because I wanted to be able to grow a variety of plants without issues of them being leggy etc.

Looking for input on system and plant health?

70 days from sprouting

I shared these a while back. I have been super happy with their growth.

First flowers are opening up and they have a ton of flower buds on them now.

Corn week 6

They're growing and they are staying up but the constant ran storms over the past few weeks keep diluting the nutrients. I solved this problem with all my other crops (peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and peas) by growing them out the sides of the bucket. Not sure how to handle the corn... probably a poly tunnel.

Slime in water

Complete hydro beginner here! I figured I'd try kratky tomatoes this summer and bought a 10L bucket, recommended nutrients and a tomato plant that I cleaned from dirt as well as I could. It's now been a week and the water smells awful (the nutrients smelled pretty bad to begin with so that might not be an issue), but there are "slimy cakes" floating around the water as well. Does anyone recognize this and is there something that needs to be done? I don't don't what info to provide so feel free to ask whatever! Would appreciate help to succeed!
