Lakewood Community Pantries??
After playing around with couponing, I have a lot of personal hygiene products to donate. Are there any Lakewood spots accepting donations?
I know Propaganda coffee shop had one going when benefits were cut.
Thank you!

I assume it’s not just me but figured I would check.
My gf and I are looking for places who are hosting plant bingo. I know The Windchester used to do it but not sure if that's still around or if there might be other locations that host it??
I just saw the police and fire truck. Anyone know what happened? Right around when school got out so there were a ton of kids around. That intersection is so dangerous!
Our street sees 2,300-2,800 cars *every single day* on a residential road barely wider than a driveway. That's more than double the traffic on any other Lakewood street that already got speed tables for safety.
Kids are playing outside. A radar sign isn't cutting it. We're asking the City of Lakewood to install speed tables on Larchmont because other neighborhoods with half our traffic volume got them approved.
I started a petition to make this happen. If you live here, drive through here, or just think kids deserve to be safe while playing in their own neighborhood, signing takes 30 seconds. What would you want someone to do if this was your street, your family?
If this matters to you too, consider signing and sharing.
Does anyone know a scrapper who would want to pick up a broken hot water tank?
EDIT: The dog has been reunited with her family. I didn’t get any details, just that her owners have reclaimed her at the shelter.
Female, super friendly, found on Newman between Franklin and Madison.
She’s now at the Lakewood Animal Shelter:

I’m moving in a few days and have some old pillows, blankets, and other bulky items I’d like to get rid of before we go, but I live in a duplex and share trash cans with my neighbor so I want to try to avoid taking up all the can space with the bulky items. Are there any dumpsters in the area I can dump trash in? Just trying to be conscientious and also not get in trouble for using “private” dumpsters lol.
If not I have family in neighboring cities and can always use their cans but figured this may be more convenient.
TIA!
just heard chanting from my apt so went out to check. about 75-100 people waving palestine and other flags. blocking quite a bit of traffic.
i haven‘t seen anything about this, posts in this sub or flyers anywhere, does anyone have more info?
Hello! I’m looking for a mechanic who is fair and honest in the Lakewood area. Anyone have a recommendation? Thank you!
I’ve recently moved to Lakewood and am looking to diversify my social circle, but have absolutely zero idea where to go to meet people or find public meetups
Would appreciate some recommendations on spots where you’ll be able to get some socialization in
Fwiw I’m pretty into film, music and games (26m)
Not sure details, looks really, bad multiple cars.
My ex fiance and I moved here in December. We have since split up and now I want to get out there and meet some new friends and socialize. I don't do bars so that's not really an option. I love to game and all things nerdy.
just wondering if this no parking sign is enforceable by the city of Lakewood.
I've seen no parking signs on temporary wooden posts in front of tree lawns, but this is nailed to a tree and does not look like any of the other city signs I've seen
Any good groomers who work well with dramatic dogs? My German Shepard mix is, I would say, above average with training and fine with his paws being manipulated and cleaned. I clean his feet whenever we come into the house.
But! He can tell when I'm trying to clip his nails and he becomes a twisting and turning dramatic mess. I was able to get one paw while running bath water to distract him before he jerked and I got his quick, which is way too long because I just have been so unsuccessful with nail trims. I had to stop cause now I feel so guilty.
Even when I got his quick he doesn't nip or act aggressively, just yelped and tried to run away.
He's always been a fan of the dramatics.
Sorry if already shared. So I’m thinking 480W to 71N to 150th is my best bet to my home on Warren coming from 77? I feel like 77 to 490 to 90 gonna be a shit show
Not that I think the people who need to read this will, but anyways -
We’re in an apartment building that does not have a parking lot or garage (like many in lakewood) and so all of the tenants have to park on the surrounding streets.
Every day now I’ve seen people parking in a way that eliminates multiple spots for other people. Not pulling all the way to the start of the curb, not pulling all the way back to the parking zone sign, parking half way in the middle of 2 spots, etc. it’s extremely frustrating when the parking spots are already so limited.
Pleaseeeeee try to help your neighbors out! :)
ETA: as someone pointed out Lakewood has a law that says you can’t park within 3 feet of a driveway. Also be mindful of fire hydrants.
