Recently, The company I work for hired a bunch of people, but 90% of the new hire are from one race.

Its nearly impossible to pass if you're not from that type of people.

Dispite the existing 50% of the workforce are from them, they still hire thier race.

Nowdays every direction your neck rotates its all them and English becomes foreign languges in some of the departments.

The company is relatively large, if this company do not give fare chance for other type of race especially the canadian born wich cover up to only 5% of our current workforce who would give them chance then?

This is not fare, even in the management roles they are there.

Isn't there a law to prevent this? Its painful, I'm afraid of getting fired if I talk about this silent replacement in the meeting.

I smoked my first cig last night & it was excellent. It was a Belmont & I did it on an empty stomach. I didn't feel the high but I felt disgusting afterwards.

11/10 would recommend however I won't be smoking them going forward. They are obviously God's gift to man so I thought someone needs to worship them for what they are. They're simultaneously how pleasure is created & a tool against humanity through highjacking the brain.

The religion would have to be something like: once a year we smoke a single cig. & are just goofballs attached to a weird community. We'd meet once a month to literally worship a pack of Belmonts in a park.

Don't smoke, because it's bad.

I know everyone is struggling and I'm fortunate enough to have a job and roof over my head. But man, 95% of my income goes to bills (thats not exaggerating). EVERYTHING is so expensive.

The part that makes me extra frustrated is that there's never any real type of benefit for single independent people. The government is increasing the child tax benefit substantially, and while I'm glad for those with kids, it seems like every single benefit is for families or those under the poverty line. I'm not there yet, but I'm close enough. And honestly I'm trying to check myself but the millions of dollars it will take just for families to see a marginal increase every month seems frivolous and unfair to everyone else, because the government needs to start being more intentional about its spending so we can make things affordable for everyone, not just those lucky enough to have a family. Like I'm already doing and paying for everything 100% by myself, where's my fucking break? Sorry for the rant it's just exhausting

I am writing as an angry and frustrated citizen who is tired of watching our community fall apart while hardworking residents are expected to simply accept it.

The homelessness, drug use, violence, harassment, and aggressive behavior happening downtown have gone far beyond what citizens should be forced to tolerate. People are scared to walk downtown. Businesses are struggling. Families avoid areas they used to enjoy. Seniors feel unsafe. Working people who pay taxes and contribute to this city feel abandoned.

Many of us are done being told to just “have compassion” while our own safety and quality of life continue to disappear. At some point, the rights of law-abiding citizens need to matter too.

We are tired of public drug use, loitering, screaming, intimidation, theft, vandalism, and being verbally abused while trying to shop, work, or simply walk through our own downtown. Residents should not have to feel afraid in the city they worked hard to build.

People are angry because it feels like there are endless excuses and very few real solutions. Citizens want to know:

* What is being done to restore safety downtown?

* What consequences are there for repeat offenders?

* What is being done about open drug use and violence?

* How will businesses and residents be protected?

* When will citizens finally feel heard instead of ignored?

Compassion without accountability is not working. Residents are reaching their limit, and many feel that leadership has failed to act strongly enough while the situation continues to worsen.

We deserve safe streets, safe businesses, and safe public spaces. We deserve to feel proud of our city again instead of anxious and angry every time we go downtown.

I hope you take these concerns seriously because many citizens are no longer willing to stay silent.

I go to a “top 4” law school in Ontario. I am top 10% of the class after finishing 1L. I want a couple of the seven sister firms. I do have a lot of things on my resume that show initiative (self employed). However, I didn’t really spend time personalizing too many of the cover letters. Sorta just used AI and refined it a lot to seem decent for the first paras. I should have put more effort in, yes, I know.
I only applied to 22 firms. I did multiple coffee chats with about 4 of those 22 as those are the 4 I do actually want.
I didn’t include an interest section cuz I wasn’t about to manufacture a fake interest section, and get called out on it (running, Netflix is very mundane).
I am seeing the stats of ppl who were top 10% or applied to a lot of firms (40+), and they didn’t land a 2L job through OCIs.
Is there any indicators right now that I should just start applying to jobs through other avenues. I fear I applied to too little firms, and the cover letter was sloppy (no grammar mistakes, or format issues however).

Does anybody here work full time in Edmonton? While living in Spruce How is your daily driving experience during winter how bad is the road what time is rush hour?

I just want to have advice what is the best way to deal with our situation

We just moved to the new landlord basement suite

Basement got flooded about half inch deep

Landlord already contacted the Insurance to fix the floor

The Landlord want us to relocate possible with our own expenses while fixing the basement. It may take a couple of weeks

We don't have extra budget for the situation

And we don't have active tenant insurance .
