How should I spend intelligently?

Hello, I’ve recently made a post asking for some advice to go to Le Mans for the first time. Thank you for the advice and allat, but I forgot to ask the most important question. How should I spend intelligently ?

Basically, I’ve started to put my money towards the race week this month. I mean, I just wanted to buy the camping, full week tickets and the other problems will be taken care by my future self that will be in Le Mans. I know I may have done the wrong, still tho I will have around ≈1900-2000$CAD.

Basically what I am looking for, some affordable food (Even if it’s bakery for whole week, I’d go there), to know if it’s mathematically possible to some souvenirs.

Again, any help is highly appreciated. I just wanted to take a break from being in my city so I bought race tickets for Le Mans. Hope everything goes fine!

How to go to LeMans

I've just learned I'll be taking a work trip to Germany the week prior to Le Mans. I'll likely be taking a train or flying from Brussels to Paris midday Friday.

I see there are relatively affordable Praire 20m^2 pitches available, and I see a hotel option with Global Tickets that isn't too badly priced but the hotel is an hour drive away from LeMans.

Can anyone speak to the Praire 20m^2 pitch campsites? Will they be full by the time I arrive? I do not want to rock up to a town in France and get totally screwed over by not having a place to sleep for a few hours.

Grandstand access during the week

Hi everyone, quick question about race weekend access, specifically Wednesday during qualifying or the hyperpole sessions on thursday.

In the past I remember that on Wednesdays you could usually walk into the grandstands without needing a dedicated grandstand ticket, whereas you did needed the grandstand ticket on Saturday and Sunday.

Does anyone know if that’s still the case nowadays? Or are grandstands already restricted to ticket holders during qualifying sessions and or practice sessions from Wednesday onward, similar to the stricter rules later during the race?

Would appreciate any recent experiences or insights!

Pink number plates

I've been collecting mid-00s GTS/GT1 dieacast cars for a few months and noticed that some cars had faded pinkish-orange number plates, while others in the same class had pure white plates. Was there any rhyme or reason for this?

Entry near Mulsanne/Arnage parking

Hi everyone.

It's my first year attending Le Mans, and I've secured parking in the Mulsanne/Arnage area.

I would like to know if there is an entry near these two parking spaces, or if I need to walk to the main entrance?

Especially since the "navettes" on Thursday are a myth.

Thanks

Prairie Camping Area question

Hi. First time going to Le Mans. We were able to get a “car” pass for the Prairie Camping area. However, we rented a Renault Trafic van. My understanding is that this van is permissible with this pass, but I just wanted to make sure I was correct. Thanks for any help.

Camping tickets

Hi everyone

We are 2 motorsport fans travelling from South America to Le Mans 2026.
We rented a campervan in Madrid and will drive all the way to Le Mans, arriving early race week.

We are currently looking for any camping pass, campervan pitch or campsite space available.
Any campsite would help.

If anyone has a resale, cancellation or extra space available, please DM me.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks!

Travelling back from Le Mans

Going to Le Mans for the first time this year and I’m camping at Prairie, but I have the 20m^2 which I only have access to until the Sunday. Will I be able to get back to Paris to get the Eurostar at 9pm or do I need to look at accommodation for the Sunday night in Paris?

Ticket name change, student to non-student

Hi everyone,

I'm writing to ask about a ticket I've already purchased, as I may need to make a name change.

The situation is as follows: the person who was originally going to attend with me was a student (and the ticket was purchased under that condition at the time), but a different person will be coming instead, and he is not a student. I have a few questions:

  1. Does the ticket include the holder's name or not?

  2. If it does include a name, is it mandatory to change it if a different person ends up attending?

  3. If a change is required, is there an additional cost due to the category difference (student to non-student), and what is the procedure to carry it out?

Additionally, I've been trying to contact the Le Mans organisation for several days through different email addresses without receiving any reply. Does anyone know which official contact channel is currently working, or have a phone number or contact form that has actually been effective?

Thank you very much in advance for your help! 🙏

A beginner’s guide to Le Mans from a first-timer - tips, experiences & things I wish I knew

It’s less than a month until the best race in motorsport gets underway, and I’ve seen lots of people asking for advice, tips and general experiences.

I visited Le Mans for the first time last year and honestly had an incredible time. Afterwards, I wrote up a beginner’s guide covering my experience, things I learned, and some advice I wish I’d known beforehand. Thought it might be useful to share here for anyone heading over this year.

Would love to hear if there’s anything I missed or anything you’d add from your own experiences. Also more than happy to answer any questions!

I’ll be there again this year - can’t wait 🔥

Any experiences or passes that could be given as a gift?

Hello all, I'm going to be attending my first ever Le Mans this year with my father-in-law. He's been multiple times in the past, but hasn't been for over 30 years.

My father-in-law has incredibly kindly insisted on paying for my ticket and camping. I'd love to get him something to thank him, but he's a very difficult man to buy for as he really doesn't like 'stuff'.

I wondered if anyone knows if there are any paid for additional experiences or passes etc that I could get him as a gift? And if so, if anyone has any personal experience and would recommend any of them?

Preparing a 20-Year-Old SLK for a 1,200-Mile Le Mans Trip

Getting the SLK ready for Le Mans this year and thought some folk on here might appreciate the level of preventative maintenance that goes into trusting a 20-year-old R171 for a proper European road trip.

The car is my 2006 SLK200 Kompressor manual. Just over 114k miles now. Driving from Scotland to Folkestone, Eurotunnel to Calais, then down to Le Mans for the 24 Hour race and back again. Roughly 1,200+ miles all in once you factor in local running around and inevitable diversions.

Rather than just “send it and hope”, I decided to properly sort the car beforehand.

Recent work includes:
- Front suspension refresh
- Front springs
- Top mounts
- Track rods and ends
- Drop links
- Camber arm
- Full geometry alignment
- Aux belt and tensioners
- Brake fluid flush
- Oil and filters
- Scuttle drains cleared

Rear suspension and rear brakes are booked in before departure too because the car will be fully loaded with two adults plus luggage.

Honestly, the transformation has been massive. Steering now self-centres properly, feels lighter but more precise, and the whole car feels tighter without losing that slightly old-school Mercedes suppleness. It genuinely feels like the car I suspect Stuttgart intended before twenty years of wear crept in gradually enough that I stopped noticing.

People talk about these cars as cheap roadsters now, but properly sorted they’re still incredibly capable long-distance GT cars. Compact, comfortable, good visibility, decent luggage space, and the M271 just sits happily at motorway speeds all day.

Now the main concern is simply whether the roof mechanism decides to express itself artistically somewhere outside Rouen.

First Time Le mans Advice please

Hello,

This will be my first time at Le Mans this year; I can get a train arriving from Saturday at 1:28 PM at Le Mans train station, is that early enough to then take the tram to the circuit for the start? I'm not trying to be on the starting line or anything, just want to see the cars, maybe at the Porsche curve or anything else if you have any advice.

Thx everyone

Flagpole etiquette

Hey guys, first time going to Le Mans this year with two other guys.

We want to bring a couple of telescopic flag poles and flags to support our country and favourite team.

What are rules and etiquette on bringing flag poles and flags, we’re not camping, we have a airbnb near Mulsanne corner and so we’ll be camping chairs/ walking around.

Can you attach them to places and leave them or is it okay to walk with them attached to back pack?

I understand the main rule is not to block views or obstruct walk ways!

T1 tramline and road access

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for information about traffic and road conditions after the race, but I can't find detailed information — can you help me?

At the end of the race on Sunday afternoon I have two options:

  1. I take tram T1 at the Antares terminus and head towards the University, then pick up my car and drive towards Paris.
  2. I exit the circuit on foot and get picked up by car on the roads adjacent to the circuit (e.g. Ave. Georges Durand / Carrefour) and then continue towards Paris.

Questions — after the race ends:

  1. Is tram T1 accessible, or are there extremely long queues to get on it?
  2. Will the roads to the north of the circuit be closed to traffic?
  3. What is the best option for driving towards Paris based on your personal experience?
    Thanks!!!!
