[FIX] House of the Dead 2 Remake – Sinden / Lightgun 1:1 Aiming + Crosshair Removal

I made a simple lightgun fix for THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2: Remake.

It fixes the horrible aiming drift when using a Sinden Lightgun.

Features:

True 1:1 lightgun aiming
Removes the in-game crosshair
Automatically works with different resolutions/aspect ratios
Tested with Sinden in 16:9 and 4:3

Installation:

Install BepInEx 5, then drop the mod DLL into:

BepInEx\plugins

That's it. Launch the game and play.

Download + source code:

Other mouse-based lightguns may work too. If you test one, let me know!

You asked for it and I finally did it. This one was harder to mod but I figured it out. SINDEN PULSE RIFLE will be available for pre-order maybe tomorrow. Leave a comment of what colors you sinden guys have so I can get an idea.

Question on Xgunner light gun

How you you first connect the controller? Do you plug in USB and flip the on button on? I see it turns on lights work trigger works and the recoil but I can't seem to get the other buttons to turn on. It doesn't register to my PC ether.... I tried the demushooter.gui and the Xgunner.Gui im having issues setting them up.

I also do not know how to register the sensors I seen the the LED with the red arrows and I put them in the corners of my TV but I just didn't know if I put them in the right spot if they're supposed to be exposed are they supposed to be on the back of the TV or on the top and the bottom? They weren't really clear which one was what to do if you just put them in random spots is it like a one two three four antenna like connection where number one goes on the top left number two goes on the top right kind of concept?

I'm trying my best to get in contact with the main ex-gunner employee from Discord I just thought since you reviewed the product maybe you could help me out or even maybe make a tutorial video?? I see that you do make content I've thought maybe it would be a good advertisement and a way to get your views up? I know a lot of people are asking as well I haven't found any really clear help on this and I would love to play this to be able to give a shout out or even review the product.

If there's any way you can send any help my way I would really appreciate your time 🙏

Me and Claude made a free thing that turns an Android phone into a drift-free PC lightgun to play Time Crisis — no sensor bar, no extra hardware

I wanted to play Time Crisis properly and every option was either dead (CRT + GunCon), expensive (Sinden), or drifty (gyro mice). So I tried something different: the phone already has ARCore, which does camera + IMU tracking. That gives you absolute position in the room, not just rotation — which is exactly what a lightgun needs.

You can find a demo gameplay here: https://youtu.be/UE3XUln_xOE

How it works: you run a small executable on the PC, it prints a QR code. Scan it with the phone, tap through a permission prompt, then point at the three corners of your monitor to calibrate. From then on the phone's aim ray gets intersected with your screen plane and moves the cursor absolutely. Aim data goes over WebRTC straight across your LAN, or over USB if you want the lowest jitter.

The part I'm happiest about: no yaw drift and no recentering. The camera corrects the IMU continuously, so it behaves like a real lightgun rather than a gyro that slowly wanders off. Phone-side latency is roughly 30ms and there's a 2ms cursor loop on the PC.

Other stuff that's in there: 20 remappable on-screen buttons (FIRE is just one of them, with haptics), multi-monitor support with per-monitor calibration and a pause hotkey so the real mouse works when you need it.

Requirements are an ARCore Android phone with recent Chrome, and a Windows or Linux PC on the same network.

It's free and MIT: https://github.com/ggcaponetto/point-bang

It's working end-to-end but still early. I've only tested DuckStation. Would genuinely like to hear how it does on other setups, especially projectors, ultrawides, and anything with a very glossy panel, since those are the tracking cases I'm least sure about. Happy to answer anything or give support.

RPCS3 Time Crisis 4 Missing Crosshair

Does anyone know what causes the crosshair to not appear during the gameplay? I'm using a custom RS3 reaper gun and set up I/O and pads so I can fire and use control and everything, but the crosshair is missing from the screen.

Funny thing is, the crosshair/reticle is literally visible on menu screen and while the game is paused and I can see it moves accordingly with my gun. It goes invisible when I resume the game.

CASTING! Looking For Extremely-Skilled Light Gun Shooter to Act in "Dexter"

Hello, my name's Kai and I work with the production department on the television show, "Dexter: Resurrection." We're looking for an extremely-skilled light gun shooter to play a game similar to "Time Crisis" during an arcade scene in the show THIS THURSDAY, 8/13.

The gig is PAID and you MUST live in the NYC area. Thank you!

We'd love any recommendations, as well.

G’AIM’E Ultimate vs a proper PC light gun setup, looking for opinions from owners

I’m looking at getting back into light gun games on a modern TV and I’m currently torn between buying the G’AIM’E Ultimate for around £200, or spending considerably more on a proper emulation setup.

The G’AIM’E appeals to me because for £200 I get two guns, the pedal, Time Crisis, Point Blank and Steel Gunner, and it’s basically plug and play.

However, the games I really want to be able to play are Time Crisis 1 through 4, particularly TC2 and TC3 in two player.

I’ve seen that people have successfully connected the G’AIM’E gun directly to a Windows PC and used it with PCSX2 for Time Crisis 2 and 3, which makes the Ultimate more interesting as I’d already have two guns.

A few questions for anyone who has actually experimented with this:

  1. Has anyone successfully used two G’AIM’E guns simultaneously on PC, with Windows/emulators recognising them as separate P1 and P2 devices?
  2. Has anyone got two player Time Crisis 2 or 3 working this way?
  3. How good is the G’AIM’E gun on PC compared with using it on the supplied console?
  4. The newer G’AIM’E firmware seems to use the coloured/contrast bars around the 4:3 image to improve screen detection. When using the gun on PC you presumably lose this feature. Has anyone replicated those bars on PC, or found that they aren’t actually necessary?
  5. Does the gun retain its calibration when moving it from the G’AIM’E console to a PC connected to the same TV?
  6. I understand the official G’AIM’E pedal doesn’t currently work properly on Windows. Is everyone just using a generic USB foot pedal instead?

I already have a powerful gaming tower PC upstairs, but the TV and light gun setup would be downstairs. I don’t particularly want to stream from the tower because adding network latency to a light gun setup seems counterproductive.

So my other option would be a dedicated Ryzen type mini PC downstairs with PCSX2, MAME, Supermodel, TeknoParrot etc.

That’s where the value question comes in.

G’AIM’E Ultimate is about £200 and ready to go.

A proper two gun setup with a mini PC, GUN4IR/Retro Shooter/etc could easily start approaching £600 to £700.

Alternatively I could buy the G’AIM’E Ultimate now, enjoy the included games, then add a £300ish mini PC later and hopefully reuse both G’AIM’E guns for emulation.

For people who have gone down either route, what would you buy today?

Is G’AIM’E genuinely decent after the latest firmware updates, or would you still put that £200 towards a Sinden/GUN4IR/Retro Shooter setup?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually owned G’AIM’E alongside one of the other modern light gun systems, rather than just judging it from the launch reviews.

Ultimately I want something that lives under the downstairs TV, is reasonably console like to use, supports two players and can eventually give me a really good Time Crisis 1 to 4 setup without turning into a £1,000 project.

Creating your own Batocera build

On a scale from Derp to nuclear physics, how difficult is it to create your own Batocera lightgun build for a person that doesn't have much computer skills?

Have you tried it yourself?

I am looking to create just my own selection of let's say 20-30 games, not the gigantic 500 gb builds.

Thanks!
