Thoughts on this build?

Light gun game drive

I tried to dl some software and I can't get it to work. Anyone know where to get a good drive with light gun game preinstalled. For a price that won't make me cry. I about to order a set of Retro shooter reapers and need games to play.

Got a cheap Gun Con 3 - What next

Hey guys, I picked up a Gun Con 3 the other day for £10, I made some sensors and installed the windows drivers and calibrated it and that all seems to work ok.

My PC is fairly pathetic HP Prodesk i5-10505 with 16 gigawatts of RAM, no GPU.

Originally wanted to try and play PS3 Time Crisis on it 4 to show the kids about these olf lightgun games, however having no joy getting the gun to work in RPCS3 despite following a few guides. So what are my best budget friendly options to have a bit of a play with it without spending too much.

Gunmote and dolphin bar help

I’m trying to get gunmote and my dolphin bar to work correctly. Every time I connect to the bar it registers it as an hid compliant game controller and shows up as an unknown device in teknoparrot. Anyone experienced this before? I’m using windows 11 on an Alienware aurora r12. I’ve disabled the Bluetooth driver in the machine to ensure the Wii remote is connecting through dolphin bar not the windows Bluetooth. I’ve also made sure I’m in mode 4 and using a genuine Wii remote.

Guns got heavy after awhile, a friend made me stocks and front grips.

The front grip alone makes it much more enjoyable for longer game play.

OpenFIRE ESP32 v6.2-beta2: The true wireless, zero-lag firmware is now 100% Feature Complete. Call for testers!

https://preview.redd.it/u1mos318r41h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79b70b64d6a58150959864141174b3cc0a85a4a7

Hi everyone. I am developing the advanced ESP32-S3 port of the OpenFIRE firmware. The primary goal of this project is to cut the cord completely, providing a native wireless lightgun experience via ESP-NOW while maintaining the exact real-time responsiveness of a direct USB connection.

I have just released **v6.2-beta2**, and the code is now 100% feature-complete across the entire ecosystem (Lightgun, Dongle, and wireless Pedal).

**What to expect in this release:**

* **Refined IR Tracking:** We integrated deep anti-jitter techniques and better rotation handling. You will notice much smoother cursor behavior and rock-solid precision, even near the edges of the screen.

* **True Wireless Freedom:** Highly optimized ESP-NOW protocol for zero-lag communication.

**Call for Testing:**

Before labeling this as our final Stable release, I need your help to stress-test it in real-world scenarios. While the protocol is optimized, ESP-NOW operates on the 2.4GHz band. I want to gather feedback on how the system behaves in real homes, especially in environments with heavy Wi-Fi interference.

You can find all the technical details, installation instructions, and download links in the official GitHub Issue here:

https://github.com/alessandro-satanassi/OpenFIRE-Firmware-ESP32/issues/13

**Hardware Project:**

If you want to build a fully battery-powered wireless lightgun utilizing this firmware, you will also find the link to the **PICON-AS** open-source hardware project inside the release notes.

Thanks for your help, looking forward to your feedback on GitHub!

Almost finished my control panel

It doesn't look like much but:

I measured and got the steel cut

Got a brake and bent it

Designed the mounting system (magnets, bolts and angled struts)

Sourced the buttons

Designed and 3D printed the gun inserts

Designed and ordered the custom vinyl.

Couple more bits to do, but I think it looks like it's meant to be there

Is RS3 reaper as accurate as old school arcades?

I've been wanting to buy them, but at 300 usd plus importing them to my country I want to make sure of something. I plan to buy them just for nostalgia, when I was around 10 years old I remember playing Lost world jurassic park and house of the dead 1 and 2, there were no crosshairs and I could easily shoot everything.

But today, looking for youtube videos of these guns every single person uses crosshairs for some reason? , even noticied the crosshair glitching sometimes. It felt off for me, what I wonder is, can someone who tested both tell me are these guns as accurate, as low latency, and as fast as the old arcades were? or its just a "gets the job " done but the old technology was far superior due to crts etc?

i plan to use them on a 50" led tv, nothing fancy, and about 1.5 metres away

We're close to releasing our first game, made in Unity3D!

We’re getting closer to our release date! Here is a short preview of our roguelite gallery shooter, Blunderbusted: Guns Out, Bluns Out! With full light-gun support, we are looking to release on Steam by Halloween this year!

Would love some feedback – positive and constructive!

Are the retroshooter reaper sensors annoying?

4 bars of led's, one in each corner. I'm sure it's probably fine while playing lightgun games but looks like if you were playing other games on the arcade cab with them those led's / sensors would get annoying, am I wrong? debating on getting 2 of them.
