If You'll Be My Dixie Chicken ...

Here's a question for the older Feat fans. They were scheduled to play the Mosque Theater in Richmond, VA on or around June 30, 1979. That concert was obviously cancelled. I recall that when the band was interviewed on the local rock radio station, XL102, a week or so earlier, they requested that listeners call in with alternative suggestions to finish the line "If you'll be my dixie chicken." I don't recall any of the suggestions and I don't know if they repeated this on earlier stops along their tour. Does anyone else remember this?

I ask again, anybody know if will there be more PNW/West Coast shows for this tour, or should I be buying plane tickets to somewhere already announced?

Seeing these guys play again means a lot to me. It is hard to believe a legendary SoCal band would only be playing two California shows and no PNW shows for their Last Farewell tour! But it sure doesn't seem like any more dates are forthcoming.

If someone could confirm this, I'll gladly travel to see them one last time.

Hot take: Representing the Mambo

It’s one of my favorite records of theirs, and that tour was fantastic. Yes it’s weird. Experimental for them. But outside the singles, it’s an excellent record.

1981 touring question

I recall that in 1981 (could have been 1980 but I don't think so), a band opening for the Rossington-Collins Band (ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd band) was billed as (I think) "Barrere Gradney Hayward Payne" or similar.

I didn't care for Rossington-Collins but I was into Little Feat and of course was interested, so I bought a ticket. But the event was cancelled the day of the show - I seem to recall that someone in Rossington-Collins was ill or something - so I didn't get to see this.

I never again heard of this billing. Did anyone here see this touring band or hear about it?
