Lobo movie ideal director
Who would you’re ideal director be for a hard R solo Lobo movie? Obviously a realistic pick (no Christopher Nolan, Spielberg, etc.). My pick would be Dan Trachtenberg. His love for lore and his storytelling would work so well with Lobo imo
How tf do you get this guy to stand up properly
Officially read 46 Lobo comics... and I'm still not tired of the Main Man 🐬💥
Just finished my 46th Lobo comic today. I only started getting into the character recently, but he's quickly become one of my favourites. The over-the-top violence, the humour, and the absolute chaos never get old. Still got plenty left to read, but I'm loving the journey so far.
What's your favourite Lobo comic or storyline? No major spoilers, please!
Lobo Movie
Here’s your discussion distilled into a post that captures the vision.
I think Hollywood is overthinking Lobo.
Don’t make him another superhero. Don’t sanitize him. Don’t soften him. Let the Main Man define the movie.
My pitch is simple:
A hard R-rated, space-western noir. The film opens with Vril Dox placing an open bounty on Lobo. Every bounty hunter in the galaxy comes after the Scourge of the Cosmos. He’s already a legend—we don’t need another origin story.
Tell his past through his own narration and carefully placed flashbacks. Don’t redeem him. Don’t make him a hero. Make the audience understand him.
The joke is that by the end of the film, you’re rooting for the biggest bastard in the galaxy.
Then do the unthinkable.
Big Lou kills Lobo.
Roll credits.
Film two follows the spirit of Lobo’s Back through Heaven and Hell—a Dante’s Inferno with the Main Man turning the afterlife upside down.
Film three completes the trilogy. Lobo returns and settles the score with Big Lou.
The tone? A balance of a space western, noir, brutal action, dark comedy, and mythic tragedy. Think the criminal energy of Guy Ritchie, the atmosphere of The Batman, and the epic trilogy structure of Nolan—but always in service of Lobo, never the other way around.
And yes, I’d be guilty of needle drops. Slayer. Cannibal Corpse. Six Feet Under. Metal isn’t background music—it’s part of Lobo’s identity.
To me, this is how you break superhero fatigue. You don’t water the character down to fit the audience. You trust the audience to come to the character.
The goal isn’t to make Lobo a hero.
The goal is to make people walk out of the theater saying, “I can’t believe I was rooting for the Scourge of the Cosmos.”
That’s the Lobo movie I’ve wanted to see for years.
I mentioned last month about Czarnians showing up in the Elseworlds mini series, Supergirl: Survive. Turns out Lobo is in the issue as well, as the leader of the Lobo Gang.
Not sure if he’s going to show up again in the six issue run, but I’ll be sure to let you guys know if he does.
Jason Momoa as Lobo on the set of Supergirl Movie
What would you have changed about Lobo's inclusion in Supergirl?
Warning: I only saw the movie once since I don't see movies more times in theaters so I might have forgotten, misremembered, got stuff wrong
I would've made him a full MC alongside the duo and change the bounty to Krem instead of a random Brigand member named Drom Baxton so he had a reason to be in the movie (still loved his scenes)
Like have him and Kara being mentors/a devil and angel to Ruthye and him be like the dark mirror to Kara since they have similar ish backstories of seeing their planets die at a older age (with the difference being he's the reason his died) but he went on a way darker path than her and it would add Kara question herself if she continues on being broken and full of anger and despair will she become like him
>!Also have him be the one to kill Krem instead of Kara so Kara can keep trying to set a better example to Ruthye and Lobo was not doing that but grew a fondness for the kid and also didn't want her to turn out like him (some Lobo comics like Lobo Cancellation Special have that trait to him so to add more to the character instead of always being a parody similar to how recent years did for Deadpool) plus he also just wanted the bounty !<
Latest addition. Justice League Unlimited Lobo
This figure doesn’t appear for sale very often, so I was super happy when it popped up for just under £40 with free shipping. Very pleased to have it added to the collection.

youtube.comFinally picked up my first ever comic! Is Lobo: Big Fraggin' Compendium One a good place to start?
I've read comics before, but this is my first Lobo comic. I've heard a lot of great things about the character, so I decided to pick up Big Fraggin' Compendium One.
Was this a good choice to start reading Lobo, or are there better stories I should check out after this? Please keep it spoiler-free I'm looking forward to diving in!
