My Elise 50th Anniversary Edition, no 5 of 50. I wonder how many are left after 27 years.
Anyone else have one?

Anyone else have one?
Hi everyone, I’ve been in love with all things Lotus since I was 15. Since that time all I’ve wanted to do is find a Lotus that I could fix up; unfortunately I live in Los Angeles CA for the Army and I’ve had almost no luck finding anything that isn’t insanely expensive. I’m 19 now and have been itching to get into the hobby: if anyone knows the best way to go about looking for anything Lotus, I’d love some help to understand or find the best way to get started. Thank you!
First two was taken with a DSLR camera and the last two were actually taken with an Insta360 Ace Pro 2.
Anyone have a spare set of rims they can sell ?
*Edit- emira
Finally took delivery last week. Ordered a 2024, near the end of the model year and ended up with a 2026 cosmos black, blacked out best I could.
Put 1300 kms on in first week. I bought this car to drive and will every once in awhile drive my Boxster as a reminder of how things have nicely evolved over the last 25 years!
I love most things and love everything that is important.
The only gripes I have are:
2). I love black cars. Always felt the whole "hard to clean" thing was an exaggeration. But this car, with its lines and air intakes, catches dirt on the cleanest road and cleanest day. Thankfully I enjoy washing my cars but I hate that the car is dirty, by my standard, no matter where I drive to
3). Wish the car seat was about 1" wider for my butt.
Aside from that, I love the engine, the manual transmission, the steering and handling. Love how it looks, inside and out.
I am looking forward to many trips around the great lakes this summer!
Anyone have some gems along the lakes, in particular, Lake Erie, let me know!
The attached pic is a field along Lake St Clair, bordering Ontario and Michigan.
So I'm a bit of Lotus fanboy, but like many Lotus enthusiasts it can be hard to buy into the brand/car when it just doesn't make sense.
I'd say the Emira is definitely one of those cars for me.
The Toyota V6 is great, but it's almost "why not get an Evora?". While I love the Evora it's not like the V6 blows anyone's pants off, it's an engine that sounds great but doesn't feel like 400hp at all.
The 4 Cylinder AMG seems pretty nifty, but it's hard to spend close to $100K on it when you're in striking distance of a C8 Z06 or a Cayman GTS 4.0. at that pricepoint.
I think the V6 hybrid will help give the Emira the performance chops to better match its chassis capability and beautiful design, plus it gives the Emira a more unique powertrain for its class.
There's (2) things that I think could ruin this for Lotus.
-If they fumble the transmission (saying the words "4-speed automatic" does not sound promising). But if they can get the transmission to be as responsive as a ZF in a modern BMW "M" car it'll be fine. I'm hoping this 4-speed business was just for China and that they're really eyeing something with more gears for the states. Or I'm hoping they figure out a way to approximate something with more gears despite the Emira only having 4 actual gears.
-If they go psycho with the price. Keep the Emira in the $100K-$120K range don't go psycho with the price. Seriously if this thing is in the $120K range it's a serious contender for a lot of folks. If they put it at $140K-$150K it's getting cross shopped with used McLarens, used R8's, and decently specced Porsches and Corvettes without the typical Lotus problems. $120K or less makes the Emira an actual enthusiast alternative, above that pricepoint and it's just a bad decision.
For me if Lotus gives the ability to drive this thing around in EV mode (even if its just for 4 miles or so) I think that'll be a huge party trick and something that would really sway me to buy. I currently own a C8 Z06 and its city MPG is dreadful. So not instantly jettisoning fuel accelerating from a stop would be huge.
Anyways! I like the idea, hope Lotus nails the execution. The Emira is a beautiful car and I want to get one, but I can't justify one with its current price-performance ratio.
Hi All,
I recently sold my 2025 V6 Emira. It had 3,800 miles and all after market parts were put on around 1,000. The buyer wanted it all back to stock, so I am selling the parts. All in great condition and used for ~2,800 miles.
I’m in Los Angeles, local pickup would be great but happy to arrange shipping at the buyer’s expense.
I bough all parts from GRP racing, you can look them all up there.
Asking Prices:
Milltek Exhaust for V6 Emira (not titanium) - $1,700
Milltek Active Valve Control Version 2 - $300
Milltek Cat Bypass - $200 ($100 if sold with the exhaust)
GRP Cold Air Intake - $450
GRP Short Throw Shifter - $50
Will update as things sell.
Thank you.
Hey. I found an first edition emira with about close to 2000 km but the car already had three owners. If I get it, I’ll be the fourth owner. I haven’t owned a lotus ever but always love the emira. If this common for lotus? Or is this a red flag that I should stay away from?
I am based in Canada so we don’t have lemon laws here. I’ve read that lotus can have issues so just curious. Would love your advice. Thanks!
I’m new to Lotus but discovered them recently and I love the car.
Money isn’t an issue; I want an Emira in whatever the top trim available is that is an automatic.
Have Lotus’ got better build quality in recent years? Or is a 2023-2025 the same as a new 2026 in terms of the common electrical issues I see online .
And is there going to be any major updates to the 2026 or new trims coming besides the v6 SE
I’m in the North East and i’m 1 hour from my Lotus dealer. Am i able to order parts through them and have my local shop fix any issues that may or may not arise?
[Edit] North east USA, unfortunately as cool as the 2027 hybrid sounds i think i have to stick with the 2026 probably . Cant run the risk of needing engine fixes with chinese battery + new engine.
so final question then are the common electrical issues some / mostly solved on the 2026 emira or should i just get a 2024 if its the same deal.
same question about part sourcing i need to know how hard it’ll be if i need AC work or something
