Built a free live map of every Bada Mangal bhandara in Lucknow - would love feedback from fellow Lucknowites

Hi everyone 👋

I'm a software engineer from Lucknow and the last few weeks I've been building a side project for this Bada Mangal season, the rare 8-Tuesday cycle in 2026. Attached is the screenshot of the 3rd Bada Mangal bhandaras listed on the map live.

Sharing it here because if it's useful to anyone in this sub, that's the point of building it.

What it is

https://badamangal.com - a free live map of every Bada Mangal bhandara happening across Lucknow. Built end-to-end by me, no team behind it.

You can:

- See the nearest bhandara to you on a city-wide map

- Get directions in one tap

- Check timings and prasad menus

- See live photos from people who walked past a bhandara in the last 8 hours

Where it stands right now

- 100+ bhandaras listed across the city (Aliganj, Indira Nagar, Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Rajajipuram, Telibagh, Jankipuram, Vikas Nagar, and every other locality I could reach)

- 60+ live photos every Tuesday from devotees and walkers, sent in via WhatsApp groups

- Hindi and English toggle

Why it's free and what's NOT on it

No ads. No signup. No money. No "premium plan". Just a pure seva project, built solo because I couldn't find a single source of truth for "which bhandara is closest to me right now and is the prasad still being served".

Things I'd love help with

- If you walk past a bhandara that's not on the map, snap a photo from the site, it goes live in under a minute

- Bugs, weird UX, broken Hindi text, wrong addresses, please call them out

- Bhandaras your family or friends are organising that we don't have listed

- Honest feedback on the design, the language mix, anything that feels off

Happy to answer questions in the comments.

They massacred our city.

Palassio, Ekana, PHQ, Gomti Greens, Sanskriti School, Amravati IT City, CG City, they all have been built on the cost of forest cover of this lovely city, and we all just stood there without even realizing.

Is he Lost or Abandoned?

I just found this pomeranian dog in the Gomti Nagar Extension area near Hestia Apartments, and don't know what to do with him. Any leads would help.

Update : He is now with a volunteer who has agreed to take care of him. Still, if there are any leads of his parents, please DM.

When will the "VIPs" of Lucknow start showing signs of being educated?

Guys, this is going to be a small rant but rant i must.

i was born and brought up in Lucknow. Lived here a long time and a very proud Lucknowite.

Obviously Lucknow was much different then and things have changed a lot but one thing that does not change is the entitelement of our VIPs. I'm not even talking about the netas, we dont have any expectations from them but what about the civil servants, the neeli batti and "govt of india" bade sahabs? They are supposed to be educated, well learned, smart people yet they and their chamchas behave with some next level entitelement that does not reflect any signs of being educated.

Last evening, i was waiting for an uber outside Pallasio and a small family was waiting next to me. When their cab arrived the kids walked towards the car and some VIP car came driving right next to the cab and almost putting the kids in danger. No one cared. Offcourse he couldn't wait behind the cab because how could he? Then some police constable started loading their shopping into the car completely blocking the cabs door from one side. Again, no fucks given. Sahab has to board right infront of the door and not a moment to lose.

Could they not tell their drivers/staff to behave with some sense? Do they think it shows some sort of power? To me it shows a complete lack of education and civic sense.

I hope to come one day and find this VIP culture vanished from our city because frankly, its crass.

Rant over

Experience working at Arambh Influence, red flags warning

My experience working at a Lucknow based startup

Posting this because I genuinely wish someone had warned me earlier. (TL;DR at the end)

I worked at Arambh Influence (also connected with ReelCraft Entertainment LLP and SKM Digi Marketing Services), and my overall experience was one of the most chaotic and unprofessional work environments I’ve seen.

The biggest issue: salary payments. I am not paid for work already performed despite repeated follow-ups, written communication, and formal complaints. Every time I followed up, I received assurances, new timelines, or vague responses, but no proper resolution. Full & Final settlement also hasn’t been processed despite repeated commitments and despite company policy stating it should be completed within 15 days.

Another major issue was how employee exits were handled. I was pressured into resigning during a meeting and was later terminated through email over insignificant claims of policy breach. From what I observed, this wasn’t uncommon. Multiple employees were asked to resign over relatively minor reasons, and the attrition rate was extremely high for such a small organisation.

The company structure itself was also very confusing. The founder appeared to operate multiple entities simultaneously, Arambh Influence, ReelCraft Entertainment LLP, and SKM Digi Marketing Services. Different names were also used interchangeably in communication and documentation, which made it difficult to understand which entity employees were technically working for and who was actually accountable.

The organisation claimed to have a legal team, but during escalations it became apparent that there wasn’t any proper legal structure in place. Even the official company email domain contains a typo (“arambhinfulence” instead of “arambhinfluence”), which honestly should have been an early warning sign about the level of professionalism and operational credibility.
One thing that shocked me personally was employees being repeatedly asked to make personal financial contributions toward company operations. That is something I have never experienced in any professional workplace before.

The work culture was equally concerning. There were frequent shouting and humiliation sessions framed as “productivity” or “morale boosting.” Instead of constructive feedback, communication often relied on intimidation, pressure, and public berating. Rules and expectations would change arbitrarily without documentation or clarity, and there was very little accountability from management regarding promises or commitments made to employees.

Ironically, despite hiring for HRs, the company lacked even basic HR systems or grievance handling processes. There was no real structure, no consistency, and no proper employee support mechanism.

Another thing worth mentioning is the lack of verifiable professional presence online. Very few employees appear publicly associated with the company on LinkedIn, and there is limited transparent information available overall.

I know startups can be messy, especially early-stage ones, and I normally try to be understanding about operational challenges. But multiple unpaid salaries, pressure tactics, lack of transparency, and constant instability go beyond normal startup problems.

I’m posting this so other job seekers can make a more informed decision than I did.

TL;DR: Worked at Arambh Influence / ReelCraft Entertainment LLP and experienced unpaid salary, delayed F&F settlement, pressure to resign, constant policy changes, and a highly unstructured work environment. Multiple entities and names were used interchangeably, HR processes were almost non-existent, and employees were asked for personal financial contributions.
