Apartment doesn't have Mailboxes

So I live at a small town and my apartments dont have Mailboxes. I was wondering legally if I can place a package box + mail holder on my porch, and get mail there. I would prefer not to rent a P.O box but usps is the closest to me.

- the usps store near me wont answer my calls and has inconvenient hours

- what's the limits with a p.o box (ive seen mixed answers)

- no ups stores near me

- my address shows up on usps database/lookup, but not sure if its "deliverable" (it shouldn't be due to the road)

Hello everynyan!!! Is it normal for ~10% of my letters to go missing?

I sell stickers with Etsy and send them through the mail using letter envelopes... I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right because most of them arrive, but I've never heard of so many going missing! every week, about 1 or 2 people complain that they never arrived and I have to send another the same way (these show up with the same rate of arrival)! is this a me issue or a post office issue? is my mail lady beefing with me because I send so many letters? I would be beefing with me for sending so many letters too i'm ngl. this has been happening for about a year for reference

Appropriate address truncation question due to NY DMV Limitations

Hello, I am wondering if I can ask some advice. I have had difficulty receiving mail from the NY State DMV in the past because of the way they truncate addresses on documents. An address is limited to 20 characters including spaces. I am trying to determine the most appropriate way to truncate my address using USPS guidelines to best ensure I get my critical mail.

Here is the example address (not real) that id like advice on that will greatly help me with mine:

1234 Garden Brush St Apt N

Currently the DMV abbreviates mine to:

1234 Garden Brush N

I believe the issue here is that the apartment is also a directional, and there is no such thing as Garden Brush St “North.”

Another resident had the DMV abbreviate theirs to:

1234 Garden Brush St

The issue here is the missing apartment designation, causing the carrier to have to figure it out.

My question: what is the best truncation to fit into the 20 characters (including spaces) max for this address? I sincerely appreciate your help.

Cool Postage Stamp Calculator

It lets you input the stamp types you have and helps figure out what the best combo is to keep number and overcharge low based on the final amount you need to reach!

How to mail to other countries?

Hello! I need help in learning how to mail things in general, like what places I can go to for shipping bigger things, and how I should fill out the labels.
Is there anything extra to sending something to someone overseas? I’ve a long distance friend and I’ve love to surprise them with some gifts, but I’ve never mailed anything before, so I’m not entirely sure how to or where to start learning.
I’m sure it’s more simple than I think it to be, but I’d love any guidance just in case :) any information would be very appreciated

Postal Influencer/PR/Personality

Cheers,

I'm a 29yrold man and back when I was out of high school, the idea of being an influencer or social PR wasn't mainstream nor feasible when it came to making a living. I never fully pursued anything like that headlong, just making music and videos for fun and I was good at it. I also liked sending letters and later dropped out of college to join the postal service.

Although I know in a deterministic way that I wouldn't know what I know now amd how my course of life got me here, I wish I could've gotten that head start on some sort of influencer venture. So a few months ago, I started a music channel under the alias Handsome Mailman. Having been a real mailman for over 2 years, I really love the job but it was too dangerous at times and it naturally is a horrible job for someone who loves travel.

I'm currently trying to think of ways to get some visibility and traction. Positive social stunts like interviewing other postal workers, making videos about postal history and telling stories about deliveries, etc. Been trying different things but really wonder what could really get me some traction.

Basically, I want to be a postal hero and shine light on how amazing mail is and those who push it. I want to get others excited about it, not exactly sure yet how to get there. Here's a song short I made, this is part of my style and aspect; a humble working-class postman trying to make it in a world of extreme capitalism.

any thoughts, postal friends?
