hey recently ive been wanting to join or make a band. ive always had the passion to make or play music and i know im not all that good i want to join or make a band in which we can grow.
Im from San Diego, 21 y/o, and have been playing guitar for about 5 years. I've never been in a band before but i can commit multiple days or week or however. I was looking to play any rock, indie, or post hardcore stuff.
I'm moving to the LA area in August and looking to start something cool. Would love to do something LOUD, fast, but also slow, with lots of twists and turns. Big fan of bands like Dead in the Dirt, HHIG, Yautja, EyeHateGod, Cursed, Left For Dead, The Swarm, etc. I like a lot of other stuff too in the lane of more straight forward hardcore, screamo (Neil Perry, Joshua Fit For Battle, PG99), Sludge, Grindcore, as well as stuff like Melvins, Helmet, Soundgarden, Quicksand, Handsome, Cast Iron Hike, Shift. Idk I like a lot of stuff.
A little about me- Im 34, I've played in a bunch of bands (can send examples), don't personally drink or do drugs but I'm not straight edge and really don't care what other people do. I play guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and I'm a recording engineer. My ideal project would be a three piece, guitarist/vocalist (ideally what I'd like to play), bass/vocals, drums. Think big stereo guiar rig, the more 8x10 bass cabs the better, hard hitting drums. I'm open to all kinds of stuff though. I've got gear and riffs!

I have been releasing music for 15 years. I have had tens of thousands of streams. I used to stay in the more “hip hop” lane, and got bored. Fast. I need the emotion and intensity of rock/alternative elements. I would classify what I do now as “Adult Contemporary Alternative Hip Hop”. I have release dates set up, marketing plans, goals for sync licensing, and a new moniker I’ll be releasing under. I can bring some of my old listeners certainly, but this is a new journey I’m beginning using all of my prior knowledge.
I need someone who’s voice can carry pain, that translates into wav forms that the listener can feel. A lot of my music is more melancholic, emotional, occasionally angry, etc. If you’re generally a very happy person, who makes uplifting happy songs, we won’t vibe as well.
Ideally, you’re ASCAP or BMI registered and release music yourself, and we can do 50/50 royalty splits, especially if you’re doing any co-writing.
If not, I can do a “pay per session” kind of thing, a hired gun, but I will likely be doing all the writing and would prefer to not then deal with a headache of royalty splitting with someone who isn’t registered for it. These are all details that can be discussed, and modified as time goes on if the collaborative effort works.

I’ve been checking out this subreddit for a little while but this is my first time posting. I'm (21 enby) a recovering theater kid from Connecticut, and I'm hoping to find local folks to meet up and maybe see if we can make something happen. I grew up singing all the time and have been wanting to get back into it for a while now. I've always wanted to be in a band, so I figured it's worth a shot.
I've always been into 80's rock (Twisted Sister, Poison, Quiet Riot, Journey, Def Lepord, Queen, etc.) and pop ("Kids in America", "Hey Mickey", "Karma Chameleon", "Wake me up Before you go-go", etc.). I've also recently been getting really into metal (Motionless in White, Slipknot, Black Veil Brides, Marilyn Manson, Ice Nines Kills, System of a Down etc..), and have been learning how to sing MIM's America and Brand New Numb.
Is there anyone in or around CT who likes rock/metal music and would want to make a band? Are there any local bands that need a singer? If not, a virtual/online band would be awesome too, though I'm not sure how that works.

I'm a 21 year old male vocalist looking to start a highly experimental neo-psychedelia/avant-garde/art rock band with a obscure, unsettling vibe.
