Hosting a Supper Club

Hi! I'm 25F and has been cooking in kitchens for the past 5 years. I've always wanted to cook for people and host get togethers aka a supper club but doesn't have the space to do so. :(

If anybody has the space and is willing to host, indoors or outdoors, to hold people (doesn't have to be a large group or a fancy place, a backyard would do!), I'd be more than happy to connect!

The supper club would have a different theme and menu everytime and the main idea is = good food + shared experiences + bringing people together. Would love to be able to do it atleast one month.

Photos attached are not mine but are samples on how they look like! :)

I’m challenging myself to try one new thing in Victoria every week - join me!

Hey folks! 31M, have lived in Victoria for many years, and recently I’ve been wanting to make some new friends.

Since the beginning of this year, I’ve been challenging myself to do one thing each week to get myself out of my comfort zone, things like going to meetups, trying new skills or hobbies, taking classes like pottery or cooking, visiting one of the many festivals, or just checking out a new place I’ve never been.

So if you’d like to join me for some of that, let me know! I’m pretty familiar with Victoria, so for anyone newly here I’m happy to show you some hidden gems. Might be a great way to learn about the city while you find your third space here.

About me: I’m big into Magic the Gathering, nerdy stuff, movies, music (I play the piano), Grand Sumo, history, reading, walking my dog around town, and cooking. I also love to host a good cozy dinner party.

Let me know if you want to meetup sometime, check out an event somewhere in town, or just grab a beer and chat!

New to Victoria :)

Helloo! I’m 32F and recently moved over from Vancouver, hoping to link up with some chill, laidback folks in the area. Open to hanging out with anyone honestly, as long as you're 420 and beer friendly. I’m big into outdoor stuff like hikes and swims, but also love just taking it easy and having a cold one with the homies. Full disclosure, I do have a boyfriend, but if you’re just a regular, cool human who wants to hang, feel free to DM!

Hi there 23M

Looking to make some new friends in Melbourne 👋

Hey everyone! 😊

I’m looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few genuine friends in Melbourne.

I’m pretty easygoing and happy to chat about pretty much anything. I’m into things like going out for food/coffee, watching movies, exploring new places, gaming, and just having random conversations and having a laugh.

I’m also keen to meet people who are interested in hanging out in person eventually — whether that’s grabbing a coffee, going for a walk, checking out a new place, or doing something spontaneous.

If you're also looking to make some new friends, feel free to comment or send me a DM. Tell me a little about yourself! 🙂

thank you

44, W, Looking for Painter/ Artist Friends

I love painting - usually portraits in oil - but with life being what it is, I so rarely get around to it.

I miss having fellow artist/ painter friends for shared inspiration & motivation. I used to just hang out with friends and paint or create when I was younger. Since moving to Victoria, I haven’t really had that.

I’d love to find even one artsy friend to do artsy things with :).

24M, just looking for friends with immaculate vibes

Basically title. I've had a pretty small social circle even after having been here for about a decade. Looking for friends around my age for nights out in town, camping, hiking, and all around vibing. I love everything travel-related, film, live music, nature, gym, etc. I'm keeping this pretty vague on purpose, shoot me a chat or a DM and let's see if we click!

Ignore the random name, I think I made this Reddit account like 7 years ago asking for help with math homework. Pre-AI days were something else

Man in his 40’s in desperate need of some friends that golf.

Hey! New here and looking to find some friends that are into laid back, non pretentious, good playlist, couple of dooby and drink sipping good times while golfing!

I play a lot but it doesn’t mean I’m going to act like a dickhead like most “good golfers” I like shooting the shit and getting to know people in a space that is meant to be chill, fun and light.

This is also respectfully open to women as well. If this sounds like a fun way to make a new friend then feel free to message and let’s see when the next tee time will be!

30’s F in Victoria looking to make some genuine new friendships

I’m a woman in my early 30s and have lived in Victoria for most of my life. I’m at a point where I’d really like to meet some new people and build some genuine friendships. And who knows, if a romantic connection naturally comes from that, I’m open to it too.

A little about me: I have a good career and during the warmer months I love being outside (going to the lake, hiking, camping, etc). Once fall/winter hits, I’m much more of a homebody. I’ll usually find myself picking up some random hobby (beading, candle making, etc.) watching sci-fi, documentaries, or getting way too invested in reality TV.

I don’t drink and I’ve found it can sometimes be difficult to meet people who have a similar lifestyle. I’m hoping to meet people who share some of the same values I do: honesty, consistency, empathy, humility and just generally being a good person.

I’d also love to meet people who are interested in actually doing things together, whether that’s grabbing coffee, going for a walk, checking out a new place, having a craft night, getting outside, or just hanging out and watching something.

I’m also hoping to become a mom someday, so building a life with the right people around me is something that’s pretty important to me. Ultimately, I’d love to meet my forever partner, but I’m not looking to force anything. I’d much rather meet someone naturally and see where things go.

For now, I’m totally open to just chatting and getting to know each other. If we click I’d be happy to eventually meet up in person

40s dad with kid looking to make friends.

40s dad with kid looking to make friends.

Hello all. I've lived in Victoria off and on for a while.  Most of my friends are other parents I've met through my son's school. He is going into grade 5 this year.

Looking to make more friends with or without kids.  If with kids, my son is 9 and  playdates would be nice for him to have more friends too.

I'm into cooking... we'd get along if you like to deep dive into slow cooked BBQ, pizza and sushi,. I'm also into fishing, watching some sports (football) ,checking out fun restaurants and doing interesting DIY projects. Not a huge gamer but used to be a grand master at Street Fighter 2 (arcade machine)

I am socially and politically middle ground, liberal voter.  For example I am a fan of Mark Carney's policies and approach to government.  I believe in personal freedoms and fiscal responsibility. I think balanced approaches are best. I would NOT get along with freedom trucker types/anti Vax/conspiracy types....

I'm fairly responsible but not too serious. I get along with those who like to joke around and don't take themselves too seriously.

My kid is a energetic little guy that loves to read, play games, chess and is into science and Tech. He is not the most athleticly gifted but will play most sports and run around for hours of you let him.  He also is in French immersion and likes to practice. He is very smart and not shy.

It would be great to make long-term friends as I do not plan to move from here.

Feel free to send a message. Cheers.

Making friends as an adult is hard… so here I am!

34F | Langford 🌸
Hi everyone! I work for BC government in Victoria and have two kids, so life is pretty busy and I honestly don’t get a ton of free time. 😅 But lately I’ve realized I really miss having friends and feel like I’m missing out on that part of life.
I’m an immigrant, and making genuine friendships hasn’t been the easiest for me here. I’m pretty easy-going and flexible though, and I’d love to meet some like-minded people who are also looking for genuine friendships.
Weekends are usually my best time — coffee, brunch, shopping, a walk, trying a new place, little day trips, or even just sitting somewhere and talking for hours. ☕️🛍️😂
I’m not looking for a huge circle, just a few genuine people I can actually connect with and hopefully make some good memories with. ❤️ If you’re in Langford/Victoria and feel the same, say hi!

Late 40s M seeks nature walks, gaming, and/or fitness buddies.

I see a lot of folks posting here who are a fair bit younger, and approaching them feels a bit awkward, although maybe that's just me. I get along with a wide range of ages, but I don't have great social initiative, and have difficulty getting a read on folks based on text alone. I'm happy to meet up with anyone at least once to see how things go, and if the vibe isn't right, just go our own ways.

I'm autistic, nerdy, in decent shape, very progressive, quite patient (except with injustice), and great with critters. I'm much more interested in discussing philosophy, science and sociology than sports or pop culture. I'd love to learn a new practical skill.

My favourite place to be is anywhere that is full of rocks, trees, water, and growing things, especially wildlife.

My favourite activity is just about any kind of game; analog or digital, I prefer co-op but ok with competitive. I play a lot of Slay the Spire (co-op and solo), D&D, Hearthstone, I'd like to play more Wyrmspan, and I just got back into Hades 2. I've also logged a silly number of hours in Deep Rock Galactic and 7 Days to Die.

I'd really like to get out more and improve my fitness, whether it's walking, hiking, jogging or running. I've got pretty good endurance, but my cardio could use some improvement.

Based in Saanich, but can easily get to just about anywhere in greater Vic.

Casual MTG friends?

Young 40M here, relatively new to Magic the Gathering (I've played casual standard format w/ partner for maybe a year), and to be honest I don't like the game shop environment. It's just not for me. But I do want to branch out and play with others.

I'm looking to find someone looking to play casual standard or any 1v1 format, a couple that wants to find another couple for MTG nights (would love to try commander), or a casual group that is into commander or any format and plays outside the game shop scenes.

Super personable, easy going, and fun guy here. I don't have a huge collection of cards (to be honest I like the UB sets) but I think it would be fun to get some semi-regular game hangs going!

Mid 50s male looking for a friend or three

Been lurking for a while and commenting occasionally, so it’s my turn to post even if it feels weird.

Mid 50s male. Don’t know many people in Victoria and it’s hard to make new friends at this age. I don’t care too much about exact age and I don’t feel like I’m this old.

Live in the West Shore.

Have a big puppy who likes other dogs and walks.

Have a vintage motorcycle to ride and tinker with.

Like to golf or just hit the range. Would really like to try a simulator just to see what it’s like.

Could be coerced into playing hockey again if a buddy had a team that needed players.

Like to try new restaurants, new wines, etc.

Want to see the Odyssey on the IMAX at the museum.

NFL fanatic.

Own two paddle boards.

Don’t love talking politics whether left or right.

Work in big tech from home.

That’s the gist of it. Let me know if you want to meet for a beer or wine or whatever. Doesn’t have to be boxed wine even!

Advice

Hello I (22 F) just moved to Langford with my family and am looking for advice on where I can meet people locally. I have already joined a gym but am very shy and like to focus on my workout when I’m there. I’d love to hear some suggestions of local places to get to know people my age.
Thanks in advance!

31M Weekday friends!

Hey Hey 31, Asian guy moved to Victoria from Vancouver about a year ago in a unique situation where I do technically live here but I go back to Vancouver most weekend. Weekdays after work find myself pretty bored and would love to meet some people outside of work!

Currently trying to keep myself occupied on the island by doing my MBA but hobbies include

* Cycling (new and getting into it, currently forcing myself to bike from here to swartz bay twice weekly on my weekly commute to work)

* Snowboarding (typically whistler, wanting to go to japan for that JAPOW)

* Backcountry camping

* PADI OW certified but havent done much diving since I got my cert half a year ago, would like to attend the dry suit course to be able to dive BC waters.

* I do want to start attending a BJJ / rock climbing gym but nervous to start alone!

* ( Lots of outdoor things but I can assure you I am not as fit as my profile suggest, I just like to go on an adventure, still in the process of losing my COVID weight LOL)

* Have a motorcycle but haven't brought it over / ridden in 2 years.

* Typically TV shows that are trending

* Been watching a few animes has I have paused for nearly a decade

* Used to play more PC games but haven't really played anything new recently as all my friends have been busy with work and life.

* Always down to learn not hobbies and try new things.

Older moms?

Hey everyone! I am 40 years old, and I have a six month old and 4 year old. Looking for mom friends to spend time with and chat and connect with. I know you can't force a friendship, but why not try? I am in Esquimalt, currently on maternity leave until Feb.
