I was outside with my doggos and at 10:55 (or thereabouts) I heard a bone chilling sound - it was like a group of people screaming in absolute terror; it lasted maybe 30 seconds and then there were individual screams slicing into the night for about another 15 seconds.

To note, there was also an air horn blaring... I want to think that it was just a group of people cheering ... but... the screams did not sound fanatic or happy. My skin - despite this wretched heat - is still cold and I am shaken to the core.

I did hear emergency vehicles shortly after the primal cacophony.... does anyone know wtf was going on????

UPDATE: thank you to everyone's responses! I still have not been able to find any news on what the screaming was or if the emergency response was related.

I am leaning towards a group reaction to the World Cup match. There is a very large Colombia fan base here and I live a mile from several sports bars/restaurants. Glory Days or Marisco's could have been the source location. Plus, it matched up with the air horn.

This is certainly more likely than a deranged psycho killer chasing down and running over a group of kids and setting them on fire while blaring an air horn.

That would have definitely been reported upon on the news.

This is crazy! She works for Manassas City Public Schools Round Elementary as a SPED instructional assistant. I heard she was suspended for almost a month because she allegedly admitted to throwing a shoe at a special‑needs student. I’m not sure what happened with the investigation, because she was allowed to return to Round Elementary- IN THE SAME POSITION. Word is that she’s good buddies with the administration in that building, so I’m not surprised to see this. She’s also allegedly currently “working” summer school at Round. Check on your kids people!! As of July 2nd she was seen working YOUR children.

She’s also mentioned to coworkers that she doesn’t have custody of her daughter. Strange for a mom not to have custody since the courts usually always side with moms.

Anyone here who lives/lived in this complex? We're mainly wondering about your day-to-day life and just have the ff questions:

1. How safe does the community feel, especially at night?
2. How much do utilities typically run?
   3 Is it a quiet, peaceful place to live, or are noise issues common?
3. Are there any nearby walking trails or parks? If so, do you feel safe walking there in the mornings or evenings?

Looking for some insight or opinions for which community may be better to live in, in regards to:

safety: car theft, break ins, assaults - also just generally the people that live there.

And

Management: does maintenance work get done in time, is the staff friendly etc - Masons Keepe has had a management change last week.

We're new the area and trying to find a PCP, but our insurance healthcare finder directory mismatches our findings. The insurance directory lists a lot of doctors at various locations around here such as on Liberia Avenue or in Dale City, but we go to the website to schedule an appointment and none of the doctors actually work at the locations our insurance directory says they do. All the doctors work at other locations farther away...

The is a reach but does anyone know a store that may carry SoBe drinks. I know its largely discontinued, but its still produced as a specialty. So I was hoping someone might know a location in Manassas or maybe any where in nova that carries them

Exactly the title, Ive already been approved for a Lease which is supposed to start second week of July. The issue is the leasing portals been down since last Tuesday. Ive called and asked when itll be back up to no tangible response. They tell me there may be an alternative way to sign the lease through email and theyll get back to me but noone has. For the past couple days its been radio silence no-one is picking up calls or responding to emails. I managed to get a hold of the property manager that told me someone in IT is going to fix the leasing portal today but its almost EOB and I dont see a change. I called another property managed by Bozzuto and they actually told me theres a management change happening at Masons Keepe and thats the reason resident and leasing portals have been down. Its very frustrating to think that the current management (bozzuto) may be hiding the transition and putting my international relocation into jeopardy. Does anyone have more info?

I'm writing this post for a friend who doesn't use reddit, so please forgive my lack of details.

They just relocated for work and are used to community oriented culture, so they don't mind noise and neighbors being about, however, a lot of listings and reviews cite crime/gang violence, which is not something they'd rather be associated with.

They are essentially looking for Queens and not the Bronx -- if you get my drift. It would be a perk if the location allowed pets.

Hey everyone. I’m a college student trying to buy my first car and I’m honestly stuck.

Budget: $9k–$9.5k out the door
Looking for: Camry / Accord (2012–2015-ish) or older Lexus
Mileage: under 150k, clean title

I don’t really have the time to constantly search and inspect Marketplace/Craigslist listings, so I’m trying to go the reliable used dealer route instead.

Would really appreciate any advice on:

1. Good, honest used car dealerships in the area
2. Any specific years/models I should focus on or avoid
3. What you would personally buy in this price range today
