Trump Administration Ends Corporate Ownership Reporting Rule, Orders U.S. Records Deleted

The Trump administration has permanently ended beneficial-ownership reporting requirements for U.S. companies and ordered the deletion of ownership information already submitted by American filers, dismantling a central provision of the Corporate Transparency Act that was designed to expose the people behind anonymous shell companies.

The Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, finalized the rollback Tuesday, turning an exemption introduced last year into permanent policy. Domestic companies and U.S. persons will no longer be required to disclose their beneficial owners to the federal government, while foreign companies operating in the U.S. will remain subject to narrower reporting requirements.

The decision represents a significant reversal of the Corporate Transparency Act, which Congress enacted in 2021 as part of a defense spending package. The law required most corporations and limited-liability companies to identify individuals who owned at least 25% of the entity or exercised substantial control over it.

Israeli tourist threaten cafe in Iceland over an art

Copied from cafés Instagram page: Today, August 15, a group of Israeli soldiers (tourists) entered a Palestinian-owned business in Keflavík, Lava Sweets & Cafe. They threatened the person working there, removed a picture from the wall, and directed abusive and offensive language at him. What happened appeared to be nothing short of an intimidation attempt and a clear threat.

They also appear to have launched an online attack on the business's Google reviews, in what seems to be a clear attempt to damage its rating and reputation.I hope everyone will support this business by going to Google and leaving a positive review, so that this harassment doesn't succeed in damaging the business or its online presence.

The question now is simple: Will the Icelandic police and government take these threats seriously?

Many people in Iceland have recently been receiving threats from Israelis, with hundreds of threatening messages reaching different people here in Iceland. How many warnings are needed before the authorities recognize that this has gone too far?

We trust the Icelandic police, and sincerely hope they will take these threats against so many people much more seriously before someone gets hurt, and before it is too late.

Because this cannot become normal in Iceland.

And while Iceland's doors and airport remain open around the clock to Israelis, Iceland cannot become a place where some people come here to intimidate, threaten, and harass others as if they are above the law.

Are we going to have to start protecting ourselves?.

The responsibility for protecting people and preventing threats and intimidation lies with the authorities, and we have full confidence that the Icelandic police and authorities will less

Oliver Larkin faced with genocide denial in interview with Glenna Milberg

US congressional candidate Oliver Larkin was faced with genocide denial during an interview with WPLG Local 10 reporter Glenna Milberg.

Larkin raised the topic of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, pointing to statements and findings from institutions such as the United Nations, Amnesty International and Israeli human rights organisation B’Tselem.

Milberg refused the characterisation, repeatedly claiming that his statements were “factually incorrect.”

She also claimed that genocide is a specific legal term and opposed Larkin’s references to UN findings concerning Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.

Larkin outlined Israel’s deliberate targeting of civilians, restrictions on humanitarian aid and attacks on churches, schools and other places of worship, before Milberg again interrupted and said his account was “factually not correct.”

The exchange was cut short when Milberg said she was being told they had to wrap up the interview.

The encounter has made waves on social media, with many lashing out at Milberg for ignoring the countless videos, evidence and reports documenting Israel’s genocidal atrocities.
