New Moroccan subreddit for ratings & reviews 🇲🇦
Hey everyone! I recently created r/MoroccanRating, a community where we can rate and review pretty much anything in Morocco.
Restaurants, cafés, hotels, universities, services, products, places, events, movies, games and more. Basically, if it’s in Morocco or relevant to people here, you can talk about it.
The idea is to have a space for honest opinions and real experiences, whether something deserves the hype or absolutely doesn’t 😭
The sub is still new, so feel free to join and post your first rating.

It’s not only for Moroccan dishes btw, you can post pretty much anything you make, whether it’s pasta, desserts, Asian food, baking, or whatever else.
You can also share recipes, ask for help, give cooking tips, or just show us what you made.

Moroccans who studied in the US were you able to stay and work there after graduating?
Salam everyone,
I’m a Moroccan student currently studying AI/engineering in Morocco, and I’m seriously considering continuing my studies in the US, either by transferring/repeating a year or doing a Master’s there.
One of my main goals is not only to study in the US, but hopefully work and stay there after graduation.
I want people to talk about their personal experiences and what they went through exactly. Please advise me and help however you can
Thank you so much in advance

I wanna take this off my chest
I’m a female and I was 19 yr when this story took place ( Now I am 21 ). I come from a very traditional and conservative family and in our culture we do value hospitality a lot. My father had a moroccan friend who used to live in france and he was coming to morocco to spend the summer here therefore leading my father to invite him to stay with us for a couple days. When he came the first couple days were pretty typical and the guest actually sounded pretty friendly and likeable until one day when we finished dinner my father went on the balcony for a smoke as usual and me and my older sister helped my mother take the dishes to the kitchen. I was heading to my room till I remembered that I forgot my phone in the room where we have dinner, I went there to pick it up in a shy manner ( Note that the guest was still in there alone ), as soon as I was heading out to my room and to not sound impolite I told him « Ghada nemchi n3asa, layla sa3ida a 3ami » to which he shocked me and sent shivers down my spine by answering « Layla ghadi tkoune 2as3ad ktar la zedti glessti m3aya chwia a zayn dialy » while giving me this disgusting flirty look ( Mind you he is old as my father, maybe even older and he never said such things when my parents were around ) I froze for a sec and responded with this uncomfortable grin then left straight to my room. I couldn’t sleep that night and at some point even started tearing up because I felt that my family was betrayed by a man that saw nothing from us but a huge welcoming and great hospitality. I was thinking to tell my father however I was way too cringed by the situation and also too scared of his reaction because my father is really protective of us so I was anxious about him having an exaggerated reaction that can cause trouble for him ( Like hitting him or even worse ). The only one I told was my sister and she was as disgusted and as disappointed as me. So we agreed on not telling anyone and to keep it for ourselves since I asked my father and he told me he was going to be gone in maximum 2 days. During those 2 days me and my sister couldn’t calm down in regard of the filthy actions of that pig that’s why I asked him if wanted a glass of water or lemonade in the most warm ways to not attract his doubts, when he requested a lemonade I went to the kitchen and poured it for him and me and my sister bother spat huge loads of saliva in his drink and we proceeded to mix it up with a spoon so it goes unnoticed. We repeated this process every time we served him a drink and in those 2 days it’s safe to way that he consumed the equivalent of 1 small bottle of saliva from me and my sister lol. When he wasn’t around we also went to his room and spat on his pillow and quickly rub it so it dries so it does go unnoticed, however the smell it may leave will definitely not go unnoticed and that pig had no way to know what we did.
What we did was kinda relieving to an extent but not as relieving as see him get the f out our house on the 2th day. Idk if what did was wrong or not but I can confidently say what he did was 100% inappropriate and that he got what he deserved
Guys please someone do me this favor

I’m a Moroccan student trying to continue my studies in China. Any support means the world to me.
Hello everyone,
My name is Manal, and I’m a 24-year-old student from Morocco.
I have the opportunity to continue my studies in China, but I am struggling to cover the remaining costs that are not covered by my scholarship and the travel expenses.
My family is not able to support me financially, so I created a verified fundraising campaign. I have official documents to prove my admission and can provide them if needed.
I know many people here are also facing difficulties, so I’m not asking for large donations. Even sharing my campaign or donating a small amount would help me get closer to my goal.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I truly appreciate any support.
**Campaign:** https://www.kiwicollecte.ma/fr/--cv2afc
🎉 Update: We’ve reached 20% of the fundraising goal!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or shared the campaign. Every contribution brings us one step closer to the goal. If you’re able to help or share it with others, I’d truly appreciate it.

Looking for student job advice in Marrakech
Hi everyone,
I’m a student in Marrakech looking for a part-time job alongside my studies.
I’m interested in call centers, McDonald’s, Decathlon, etc.
If you’ve worked as a student here, I’d really appreciate your advice:
● How did you find your job?
● Which companies hire students easily?
● Is the schedule flexible?
● How many hours do you work?
● What salary can I expect?
● Apply online or go directly with a CV?
● Any tips with no experience?
Thanks a lot 🙏
In Senegal, they are chasing illegal immigrants out. What would happen if Moroccans did the same?
They are sub saharan African immigrants who received a deadline to leave and were violently attacked. No one calls the Senegalese racist. Imagine this happening in Morocco. It would be on the front page in every newspaper and on social media. The double standards are crazy. Why are Moroccans so naïve?
After spending over 6 months building an app, I find out I can't monetize it because I live in Morocco
I spent most of my free time in the past year building an app. I poured so many hours into developing, testing, fixing, and improving it. I was so excited I never bothered to check this stupid rule because who would've thought?
when I finally got a build that I felt is ready to share with the world. I made a Google Play developer account which costs $25 btw in the hopes that it's a small cost for the potential returns. I spent another week creating assets and preparing my app to list and its now in the review process. I setup payment and everything in my UI and code, I get to the last step which is "create a merchant account" and I wanted to break my monitor. Morocco is not supported. Literally every neighbor country is there, even Algeria is there (machi kan7egroum but politically speaking) the majority of the world is allowed, even countries known for scam and fraud, except Morocco.
Why? Who knows. I can't think of a benign reason tho.
I wouldn't call it effort wasted, I can still find a workaround and make a foreign LLC and all that crap, spend more money and complicate mylife to get to the same result people in other countries achieve with 2 button clicms, but it just hurts. You spend so much effort trying to build something and create side income since jobs don't pay shit here, and then your dreams are crushed.
Thank you Morocco. You never fail to disappoint amaze me.
