Peppa Pig and George at the Omaha Storm Chasers game

How to find beginner-friendly gigs?
After some discussion with family I've finally decided to try out working as a mascot performer as a side career while I'm in university. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the major job boards have a lot of temporary performer positions for the cities I frequent (e.g. London) - are there dedicated sites for one-off performer positions so I can learn on the job and add some experience to my resume?

McDonald's Birdie and Hamburglar costumes, circa 70s-80s
Two incomplete McDonald's mascot costumes owned by my boss. Hes currently trying to decide whether he wants to sell, but neither of us can find anything about what they may be worth or if there is even demand for these.
