A local musician to me here in Melbourne Australia posted this recently as one track in his repertoire.

Most recent performances of Remission (2002)

Hello! I've been doing these lists for bands I like and now I'm doing Mastodon! I've already covered Breaking Benjamin, Thrice and Deftones. The stats are from setlist.fm so any inaccuracies are from that site and I apologize if it is inaccurate. But I'm excited to dive in! Will also include the amount of times each song has been performed over the years.

Crusher Destroyer: September 2, 2023 at Fiddler's Green Ampitheater in Greenwood Village, CO (128 times)

March of the Fire Ants: November 3, 2023 at Headbangers Boat 2023 (558 times)

Where Strides the Behemoth: March 5, 2012 at Soundwave Perth 2012 (285 times)

Workhorse: May 3, 2005 at Bottom Lounge, Chicago, IL (37 times)

Ol'e Nessie: July 2, 2015 at Roskilde Festival 2015 (93 times)

Burning Man: July 27, 2004 at The Theater of Living Arts, Philadelphia, PA (6 times)

Trainwreck: February 28, 2009 at Scion Rock Festival 2009 (12 times)

Trampled Under Hoof: May 1, 2014 at Fox Theater, Oakland, CA (27 times)

Trilobite: March 31, 2018 at The Trusts Arena, Auckland, New Zealand (7 times)

Mother Puncher: April 25, 2026 at Sick New World 2026 (620 times)

Elephant Man: July 15, 2021 at Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta, GA (1 time)

And there we have it! I love the contrast between Mother Puncher and Elephant Man being the most played song and the least played song. Funny and awesome that the only time Elephant Man has been played was at an aquarium lmao, such a Mastodon thing to do.

Apparently this is the last solo Brent Hinds recorded

Rippin. I’m assuming it’s the one that starts around 4:28.

Edit: last solo that WE KNOW OF. Banker guitars posted about it on their Instagram.

David Aston, Bangor Maine, Timber Hearth Tattoo Company

This was inspired by the band Mastodon, David delivered so far beyond my hopes, I’m happier than I even thought I would be 🥰

More Than I Can Chew - Building a Hopeful Playlist

Hey folks, I'm looking to build a playlist of hopeful/overcoming obstacle/victorious songs. Mastodon - More Than I Can Chew being one. I've also got Gojira - Where Dragons Dwell, Yob - Our Raw Heart, Mouth of the Architect - It Swarms

Can be lyrics about those things or just have the feel. Any recs? And if you want the playlist holler and I'll share!

Bro’s about to COOK

The pressure must be enormous for him, but so far I’ve only seen/heard him go strength to strength. I think he’s fully aware of the responsibility and is going to pull out all the stops. Dude’s six solo albums in and still plays with the energy and passion of someone just starting out. I can’t wait for what he’ll bring to the new record

The Mastodon/Jack Johnson beef was never squashed

Any hopes of a Mastodon tour with Jack Johnson were dashed away on this day (Sep 12, 2008) at Bonnaroo. Thank you Aziz Ansari for calling such frankly atrocious behaviour out

About to go on a Mastodon journey

I've been listening to some songs for a while now and got really interested in the band, so I'm going to listen to the band's full discography for the first time and was curious about your favorite albums, tracks or anything you would like to point out to a new fan.

Also I have already listened to Once More Round the Sun and this album hits SO FUCKING HARD that I am really excited get to know the others!

New to Mastodon

Hey, I recently discovered Mastodon and loved the album Crack The Skye. What album should I listen to next?

The thing I liked about this band is the weird mix of beautiful clean passages and fun complicated riffs with beautiful and emotional vocals and atmosphere. Here are some of the songs I liked:

The Motherload

Oblivion

The Last Baron

Teardrinker

More Than I Could Chew

Roots Remain

Edit: thanks for the recs, I think I've decided on a direction

More than I could chew

Can someone help explain this song to me? I was drunk and sending a bunch of songs from YouTube to someone , someone who left me I loved , this was the last song I sent them by random coincidence. I sent the music video but I don’t watch music videos , I just liked the song , then I watch it recently and see it’s about eve and the devil , she left me cuz I had a manic episode about the devil helping me, so I don’t feel like this is a coincidence, she left me cuz of Satan then the last song I send her is this? And the last lines … “say when and I’ll come running back” it makes me cry cuz it’s what I feel “ I lost my way” I can barely listen to mastodon one of my favs cuz it was all I listened to when I was with her, especially the song hunters of the sky, that song gives me so much anxiety cuz it brings me back to when I was driving to meet her for our first date 😔 so what does this song mean? Is the devil good or bad , is eve good or bad , or is everything good !!!!
