How do I update my game to the 1.1 patch?
I've read that I need to source a .cia file but I don't know how to. I'd assumed it would just be a file I can download but I'm struggling to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hunters that have soloed this quest. What weapon did u use ?
So I have World on my PS5 for years but have yet to play. My only experience is playing 4u on the 3ds and hating it. My reasons were (if I remember correctly), the animations when using items taking too long in a fight, the combat feeling clunky, weapon animation taking too long, enemies not having a health bar, and traps feeling like they were more trouble than they were worth. I should also preface I couldnt use multi player and nowadays i just dont like co op/ pvp games. So with all that in mind, would I enjoy world? The concept of hunting monsters and using parts to further upgrade was cool and the tedium wouldnt bother me.
Edit: tried posing in the main subreddit and world but kept getting deleted as soon as i posted.
Edit 2: since many are responding to the health bar comment, I should clarify that a) i thought i read world had them, guess i was wrong b) its not a deal breaker, was just an observation from my previous experience
Yesterday I passed almost all day trying to get a Rajang GQ and nothing. Can someone help me please?
Oh, and I'm on the 3DS, not an emulator.
For reference, my current mixed armor set is
Battle Helm (Attack Jewel 2)
Kut-Ku Mail (Attack Jewel 1)
Rathalos Vambraces (Attack Jewel 1)
Velociprey Tassets (2x Attack Jewel 1)
Kut-Ku Greaves (2x Attack Jewel 1)
Pawn Talisman (Attack +3)
and for a weapon, I use either the Immolator Blade (Nerscylla GS) or the Iron Impact (ore hammer). This set gives me Attack Up (XL) and no other skills, and each piece is upgraded as much as I can do at present.
I just reached Village 7*, and I wanted to know if there were any greatswords, hammers, and armor sets I should prioritize getting. This gearset carried me through low rank very comfortably (with Shagaru and Tigrex especially being FAR easier than I expected) but the Daimyo Hermitaur urgent quest kicked my ass and tore through my potion supply. Likely just a skill issue, sure (this is the first pre-World game I've gotten to high rank in) but I'd like to be prepared for what's coming ahead.
Hey folks,
Long story short, my 3DS has been a state of disrepair, but I had the foresight to jailbreak it and dump my ROMs and saves (well I did for 4U atleast, I dont know why i forgot to do it for 3U, but alas)
I used the azahar emulator to resurrect my save and it took me back to some good old times.
I also found that someone managed to save the dlc quests (link) which might be useful for people.
The question I have now is, lets say i do a quest, is my progress being saved? because so far, i dont think it is. I can complete a quest, hit the save option but when i restart the emulator, it reverts to the save file that I dumped from my 3DS. Do I have to do this via save states from now on, or is there a "right way" to save the game?
Thanks folks. I hope to get online play working, but I dont think I can as long as my actual 3DS isnt alive)
So just to clarify, each monster hunter has their own distinct qualities, though I must admit that the jump from the water combat to jumping ledges was the right call to the series at the moment.
That being said, I've been playing MH4U on the new 3ds xl, after getting a grip for that console I've been having s blast, preferring this than beating MHtri/mh3u again (I play it and finished as a kid with a Wii remote and then later on my "Wii U" using a PC).
Except for the clunkiness of the 3ds eraser as c-stick and the limitations of an old generation game, it's been remarkable.
I've been trying to like generations ultimate but GODDAMN THAT GAME IS (artistically discretion wise) AWFUL, which is a shame since I know it's by most the most accessible old gen game.
I'm probably not the only one alone, I finished the low rank caravan quest and now I'm on high rank getting ready to slay a brachy, (I got ultra smashed by it).
Hi, I reached G-rank and been taking the chance to play with others online. I feel that my basic loadout for quests helped me deal with low and high rank hunts, but I see more experienced players using other stuff. I'm still a bit confused, can you help/guide me about what should I bring to hunts? specially for hunting with others, like what healing items should I use for others? what bombs should I carry? what barrels should I need if any?
Been playin for a couple weeks and its run smoothly all the way up to hr 6 where before i was running full tetsucabra and was doin fine along with my cheda blade ive switched to this and i killed the monsters givin me trouble(azure and stygian) any suggestions on how to optimize my build?
I come to this game with World, Wilds and (some) Rise experience under my belt, playing a couple weapons but mostly lance.
My biggest issue with the weapon right now is that in later low rank, and I assume for the rest of the game, monsters tend to have attacks that have high knockback on block. This makes it so you can't counter them, but more importantly, it sometimes puts you in checkmate positions where if you block the subsequent hits you die due to not having enough stamina, but you also don't have time to put the weapon away and dive out.
I gave up farming for the upgraded Gore Magala lance because Shagaru Magala is actually up there as least fun monsters I've ever fought with lance. All its moves either have him end behind you so your counter misses, or have that high knockback that chunks a third of your stamina and chips your hp. Not counting the random airstrike lasers and projectiles that come from behind you sometimes. Been having similar issues with Brachydios.
My question is, do you just require the Guard skill to use lance? Or is this skill issue?
Hi all,
I recently have gotten back into my mh4u save (with a decent amount of pain from the remaining g3 advance quests and loads of rust to shed) and thought I'd get back into relic hunting as well.
For some reason that is not clear to me past me has decided to really go in on a gore guild quest. Reading more about it again I realise that this is a) not the most efficient way to find good beshackled weapons and b) will not even give me the design I'd want, though bolt is also pretty nice.
Since I love the Jaw Blade (bonus for my 3 year old picking it out as the coolest as well) I was wondering whether anyone on here happens to have a Rajang guild quest they'd be willing to share.
I'll also go on the hunt for one myself but I'd still be very grateful if I could skip the rng in this case.
Edit: Forgot to mention I am on 3ds and have pretendo up and running
So, I'm working on my blast DB (light break) build and don't know what skill is best to add.
For context, I'm actually with these skills:
-Challenger +2,
-Honed Blade,
-Razor Sharp,
-HG Earplugs
'
And I have to choose one of these skills:
'
-Divine Blessing
-Evasion +1
-Evasion +2
-Bombardier
-Honey Hunter
-Negate Mud/Snow
-Attack Up (S)
-Attack Up (M)
-Critical Eye +1
-Critical Eye +2
-Critical Eye +3
-Speed Sharpening
-Adrenaline +1
-Latent Power +1
-Mounting Master
-Status Crit
i believe i understand almost everything about relic weapons, i was just wondering about a method that would increase my chances of getting the best possible weapons? like certain monsters or such ? and no I don't care about the weapon design, i just need a weapon with high damage and high sharpness without needing to rely on handicraft
Yeah, just, what would be the best talismans for Hunting Horn at low rank, high rank, and G Rank.
Ignoring grinding difficulty.
So what do you guys think of my high rank build? Is there anything I should focus more on now that I'm in high rank or would this be a good enough build to get me to late high rank? I feel like monsters now are hitting like freight trains and I can only guard point so much, so if there is any armor that would be good for charge blade later on pre G rank, it would be good to have something to work towards.
The result can be improved if you are not such a damage-hungry idiot as I am.
