Doing some lovely old Dark Eldar.

Although these came from my personal collection, 3rd edition DE are still surprisingly cheap to get hold of.

Map on commission! 🧭🗺️

Map of the Governor's Palace set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, created as a private commission for Andrew Arguss. It was a pleasure to create this map; I love the Warhammer 40,000 universe, even if I don't know it inside out! It’s always great to work on commissioned maps in between publishing projects! 🧭🗺️

Anyone playing Midhammer in the SF Bay Area?

Hi all. I've been playing since 4th edition, but truthfully I've been having progressively less fun since 8th edition. I'm looking for people in my local region to play with.

5th was kinda my sweet spot, but I'm open to other editions. Just kinda want to play games with the old Force Org chart, reasonably simple objectives, and without a bunch of stratagems.

Xenos 30k

Are there any rule sets out there for xenos, specifically eldar, for 3rd?

I'm not looking for militia or 1st edition.

Thanks in advance.

1500 point games more common in midhammer?

Hi everyone , I recently caught the midhammer bug. Going through old white dwarf's, forums etc I notice 1500 point games seem to be as common as 2000 point games if not more.

My question, is it the case that 1500 was way more common years ago? And if so was it the community that shifted to 2k or GW?

Thanks guys , keen to have found this sub

After 25+ Years in the Pile of Shame, My Metal Fire Dragons Are Finally Complete!

Decided I'd get back into Eldar for 11e, having not played them since 3rd Edition, and slowly working my way through the backlog of minis from those days that I never had the skill to paint!

The Hollow Star of Kadavah, retro campaign book reaches V1.0

Hey folks, a few weeks ago I shared my campaign book for The Hollow Star of Kadavah, a 2nd Edition narrative campaign framework. Thank you for all the lovely comments about the idea and the way it looks exactly like a book of the time.

Well, it has now reached Version 1.0 and the first game of the campaign kicked off... not where we are in the UAE, but (somehow, thanks to the magic of the global Warhammer community) all the way in Georgia, USA, and also with a 5th Edition Apocalypse game!

Being story-focused and light on mechanics and bookkeeping, you can use the background and lore for any edition if you want, and even create your own mystery behind what the Hollow Star is and how it plays out through your battles.

You can download the updated PDF at Itch.io, with version 1.0 now including a continental map, terrain suggestions for the battle locations and more, from: https://starblayde.itch.io/the-hollow-star

Also, you can listen to our latest podcast episode where we chat about the first game kicking off and where we are going from there, along with a wider discussion about what makes great 40k homebrew.

3rd Ed game - 1k Blood Angels vs homebrew chapter

Some pics from a 3rd Ed 40k game I had. My Blood Angles faced off against my opponent’s home brew chapter: The Abstainers.

Possibly fueled by rumors of heretical teachings by the Abstainers’s chaplain, the Blood Angels took to the field in a classic cleanse mission . The mission was a success, having tabled the Abstainers while sustaining heavy losses by turn 5. Were the Abstainers fostering heresy? Who will know… the Abstainers fought to the last man with their chaplain taking a last stand to destroy the Baal Predator before being cut down in a torrent of red armour.

Just a fun/fluffy 1,000 points game to dust off the old rule books and get the old minis on the table. Getting to play against a great opponent, fully painted armies and boards, and a great gaming space really make the hobby.

Some modern 40k detox with a painted collection of Classic Marines and Orks!

The majority of models I painted in my first years of doing the hobby on diplay in my place! Always nice to look back to where you started.

No matter what and how many models I got and still going to get, this is the special bunch! Most of it kitbashed or converted.

Finished Warhammer 40k Terrain (2004 STC Colonial Habitat)

This is the 2nd piece to my new table. The only other plans for this piece is a final moot green leaf highlight. I've decided to make all the pieces have Chaos Icons. I'm happier with this piece than the first piece here I finished - today glued on the trees and took some quick outdoor iPhone photos / no proper lighting. More 3rd/4th edition style Warhammer 40,000 terrain to come!

What base for sm biker ?

I have a bunch of sm biker, something like 50 bikers and 6 assault bike.

For the assault bike, I will use 60mm.

But what for sm biker ?

Oval base 60x35 mm or 75x42 mm ?

I don't like the original base.

What do you use ?

Some of you have some picture of biker you do ?

It's for playing in 4ed and 5ed.

Thank for your advice.

( The picture is some biker I do maybe like 15 year ago, they will be stripped and redo ).

Krieg Vraksian 7’th Engineering regiment

A few months back I posted on finally getting started on my childhood dream project of doing my Vraksian Krieg regiment. Since then I’ve manages to do some smalol eBay scores of units. Among them the older resin FW engineers and mole mortars! The older kits only came with shotguns (and gas grenades) but you could add some bits and bobs to the watchmaster. I’m a big fan of the added optics on the engineers

these were a joy to paint and work on, the backpacks were all modular, and the shotguns were a bit spindly. But all intact! The bases for my engineers had more differing pigments of dust and less poisoned ground. To show thay they’re forging ahead of the main advance.

hoeo you enjoy some old as anything sculpts
