Dog rehoming

Dog rehoming

*edit*

Thank you to everybody that provided me with information on how to go about this. I’d like to make this clear, I would have not rehome him just anybody. He requires a specific home. He will remain with us until we feel he is safe.

For now I’m going to look into dog rescues and find him a safe place. I’ll also be contacting MADAC and see what they recommend.

*Edit 2*

I will not be rehoming him. I will be looking for a rescue that specializes in exotic dogs. Thank you to everybody that provided me with helpful info.

*Edit 3*

There are a few People here accusing me of wanting to give him away to the first person that came along.

This was clearly a typo on my end.

Hi everybody.

My daughter had to make a difficult decision today and she needs to rehome her dog. He is a Korean Jindo. We rescued him about 6 weeks ago.

He’s a great dog, however he cannot live with other dogs. We currently have two. We did not know this at the time of adoption as MADAC told us they did not witness any signs of aggression towards other dogs.

He’s 5yrs old, fully vaccinated and licensed. He’s also chipped. An ideal home for him would be a home with no other pets.

He’s a really good dog. Extremely independent, super chill, he can be left alone outside of his crate and he is not destructive. He’s very alert and lindo of stoic and he’s absolutely a stunning looking dog.

He doesn’t require much and is not demanding or very active he just doesn’t like other dogs for some reason.

If you are interested please DM me. We are not asking for any money, we’re just looking for a good home. His name is Zuko.

I think I have information on the potential arsonist from the fire yesterday. Who do I call and is this even a worthwhile tip?

My fiancee and I were driving west from near the lake. We did not see any smoke in front of us the whole drive.

Around the time we passed 33rd street, I noticed there was a rising plume of smoke in the rear view mirror. The fire had to have started around the time we were in the area, as if it had started earlier we'd have seen it in front of us.

Then, two cars came flying up behind us, driving west, dodging and weaving through traffic. Don't remember the first one but the second was a white Jeep Cherokee with a "Kunes Country" dealer plate, missing one hubcap or maybe running on a spare, with a racing stripe in red and blue.

By the time we got out to the Costco in the Falls, the smoke plume was visible on the horizon.

We joked at the time "What if they started the fire?" but now that many are speculating on it being arson, I do wonder if it's relevant.

But at the same time, on the other post speculating about arson on this sub, the consensus seems to be "You don't know anything the police don't. It isn't arson. Stop speculating about it being arson.

Is this even worth calling anybody over? I don't know.

I was googling old beer ads and discovered Liberace, who was born and grew up in Milwaukee

I’m 37 years old and never heard of him until now. Apparently I lived a few blocks from where he was born/grew up (after he was dead) and went to the same school as him. Anyway, I’ve been YouTubing him and he’s an incredible pianist. Didn’t realize he was incredibly famous and the most highly paid entertainer in the 50s-70s.

Requesting family photos at the zoo train

I have this theory that many of us who grew up in and around Milwaukee have a photo somewhere in the family album of ourselves in a carriage of the Milwaukee County Zoo train.

I’m working on a video essay for Milwaukee PBS about why I love the zoo train and how I think it provides a separate kind of magic for kids than it does for adults. More on that later.

For now, I could use your help. Depending on how this crowdsourcing goes, I’m thinking about featuring YOUR photos from the zoo train.

I’ll take any and all photos. Ideally they’re horizontal scanned images. Let’s try to avoid a cell phone photo of a photo. But we do the best we can.

Help prove my theory right and submit your photos in the comments of this post. Or if you prefer, you can email them to me at meyerss2@matc.edu. And know that this will be a publicly shared story that will live online and possibly broadcast TV.

All aboard and keep on truckin’, friends.

What is this weird little building next to the warehouse that burned?

Next to the warehouse that burned down today is a small two-ish story red roofed building with a steeple and cross. Looks newer than the warehouse, appears to have an ac unit. Anyone know what it is? Location is 32nd and Hampton.

Let We Energies control your thermostat for $2 a month ($4 a month the first year).

Maybe it’s just me, but this email is so out of touch. I keep my thermostat set at 75-76 in the summer, and 60-66 in the winter to keep costs a low as possible. I hold off turning on the AC in the summer until I absolutely have to. This year, I am hoping to make it to July before turning it on, but that decision is driven by if it’s too hot to sleep in my bedroom. If I can’t sleep, I turn it on to 75. I am not wasting energy because the price for doing so is too high.

There is no wiggle room at my house when it comes to thermostat temp settings. Neither 66 or 75 are truly comfortable but at those temps, it does take the edge off being too cold or too hot in the house. And I am just like my dad because I don’t like anyone touching my thermostat. Lol

Meanwhile, We Energies keep raising prices. The $4/$2 a month does nothing. My energy bill for Feb 2026 was 12% higher than February 2025, and I used less gas and electricity in 2026. Their $4/$2 a month would have no impact on my bill, but they have access to my thermostat. It’s just nuts.

What do you think?

Save Our Schlitz

Like many of you, I'm annoyed that Schlitz is being shuttered. I’m further annoyed media are not asking critical questions of the company that currently owns the brand and why this is a necessary action, everybody just seems to be accepting it as if this is a fact of life/American capitalism. I don’t think that’s just or fair and as I posted a few days ago in my first comment from this username, my initial instinct was the following…

“Do we really have to accept a West Coast private equity equity holdings company (Blue Ribbon Intermediate Holdings/Partners) killing off an absolutely iconic Milwaukee brand with little fanfare? Much like sports teams are met with pushback for attempting to move and fans rally around to save them, I think a Save Our Schlitz campaign to pressure them to sell to a local brewer like Wisconsin Brewing Co (who is brewing the final batch) makes a ton of sense. There is clearly still a local market for Schlitz even if the PE company running them now doesn't want to do the work to push the beer nationally.”

After a few days of sitting on it, I still feel this strongly. Some cool fellow Milwaukeeans responded to that comment with good thoughts/ideas to offer…
“This kind of can-do, grassroots spirit is what gave birth so many of these iconic brands in the first place. PE is cancer.”
“Wisconsin Brewing should continue the 1948 formula under a name like Schlatz if they can’t use the name”
“Could probably go with something like "Milwaukee Fame" or a send up name. I've seen that done like Lakefront has a St. Paddy's day not-Guinness called snake chaser. “

Seeing those comments (along with fandom elsewhere on the internet) gave me reassurance that I’m far from alone in loving this beer and its rich history, so now I wanted to follow-up and start a thread to see if we can push a Save Our Schlitz campaign even further. If you have ideas, please chime in here. For example, one early idea I have is an email campaign to those associated with Blue Ribbon Partners (I’ve done some early research on names/emails here) requesting as civilly as possible that they put the brand up for sale at a reasonable price to Wisconsin brewers. Whatever your ideas may be, let’s not allow them to kill the brand that Made Milwaukee Famous without pushback.

Gentle Reminder!

Just a gentle reminder that this neat little yellow sign with the representation of a walking human person with a detached circle head means

“!!Stop for pedestrians!!”

To the surprise of many - this is not a suggestion, but an actual law! I cross this intersection many times, often carrying things, very clearly waiting to get from A to B.
The thing is flashing and yet folks fly right by. Do they not see the bright signs? Do they not care? Am I actually invisible and don’t know it?!
Please help me understand!

*EDITED*
I didn’t think I needed to be this explicit, but here we are. This post is written with the assumption that the folks who comment also apply a certain degree of common sense.

  1. All yellow triangle road signs are a “heads up” that something is happening that you need to be aware of, or act upon. Yield, Lane Ends, No Passing Zone, Railroad Crossing, Pedestrian Right of Way, etc.

  2. Treat a Pedestrian crossing the same as a yield. All other traffic, whether vehicle or pedestrian has the right of way. Slow down, if anyone is approaching, stop until they have cleared. If it’s obviously clear, keep moving. MOST pedestrian crossings are not located in high speed areas.
Drivers shouldn’t be blasting down the road near these locations.

  3. While drivers are *usually legally supposed to stop, pedestrians should never assume they will. Whether they don’t know, or don’t care, or simply do not see you, don’t flop out into the road without using caution. These signs are not always placed in a location that give much warning to drivers. As dumb as it is, all of these signs have the same rules whether it’s only a sad little sign, a sign with flashing lights, or a sign that specifies “Stop for Pedestrians.”

  4. Pedestrian Crossings are the designated area for pedestrians to cross. These rules do not apply to intersections directed by “walk” or “do not walk” signals. These rules do not apply to people who cross at non designated areas. This is what we call “jaywalking” and drivers are not expected to stop for you.

new MKE resident! LOOKING FOR ADVICE

I am moving to Milwaukee this summer (mid 20s, bartender & student) my apartment is RIGHTTTT off of Brady street and my complex currently doesn’t have any available tenant parking that i could pay monthly for.
i need someone to lmk:

  1. How miserable am I going to be while trying to find parking daily?
  2. How can i best keep my car safe from theft?
  3. Do residents (and parking police) abide by that whole “2 hr street parking” situation ….

I am coming from a city where paid parking isn’t a concern… so id love to know what other street parkers in the area are doing to stay sane and safe!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
