Mindbody told me to 'do whatever I have to do' when they jacked my rates. So, F*** 'em. I'm making their competition. Step 1: Solving the 'messy export' trap for good.

I'm building a scheduling platform for us massage therapists because Mindbody can go somewhere and suck it. They screwed me so hard when they bought Booker. Jacked my plan from $85/mo all the way up to $599/mo on the very next bill! I lost 5 years of data because I didn’t pay their $500 export/extortion fee when I switched.

That is still one of the biggest complaints I keep hearing from a lot of therapists is that they are "trapped" because Mindbody doesn't play nice with exports. I'm building a one-click get me the hell away from Mindbody (and apparently Mariana Tek too now lol) tool. I need anonymized export samples to stress-test the import logic.

Is anyone willing to share a copy of their export files?

Specifically looking for:

  • Client exports
  • Membership/pricing structures
  • Class schedules & booking history
  • Sales reports
  • Actually you know what? Any and everything you can get from them lol

Important: Please delete all sensitive client information (names, emails, CC info) before sending. Honestly, my team just needs to see the column headers and how the data is formatted. Like how they list dates or membership types and whatnot so we can map our importer correctly.

If you’re willing to help, drop a comment or DM me. I’ll make sure to hook you up. Honestly, I just want us to have a better alternative (and make Mindbody hurt the way they hurt us.) We go live this summer. The developers are aiming for July 1… so fingers crossed.

PS This is NOT an advertisement. I really need help getting that export logic.

Mindbody costs keep climbing. What did you switch to and was the migration painful?

Studio owner here, 4 years on Mindbody. Started at around $129/mo when I signed up, my last invoice was $387 and they're warning me about another bump. Our actual class count hasn't changed all that much.

The platform itself I can live with. booking works, the member app is fine. What I can't live with is the way they keep stacking fees. payment processing markup, marketing suite that I never asked for now bundled in, a "platform fee" that appeared on the last invoice with zero explanation.

Looked at switching twice and chickened out because the data migration looks like a nightmare. 4 years of member records, class packages, recurring billing. Has anyone actually pulled the trigger and moved off? What did you go to, how long did it take, and what broke?

Don't need it to do everything. I have separate tools for marketing and CRM. Just need bookings, memberships, and payments not to fight me.

Solo PT leaving Mindbody. What do people use when you don’t have a studio anymore?

Bit of a niche question but hoping someone here has been in the same spot.

I was a trainer at a yoga/strength studio that used Mindbody for everything. Class scheduling, my 1:1 PT clients, package billing. Studio closed in August. I’m now running my own thing, about 60% online with people who used to be in-person, 40% still in-person at gyms I rent space from.

Mindbody is the wrong tool for this. It’s built for studios with rooms, not for one trainer with 30-40 clients spread across different locations and modes. The class-scheduling-first UI doesn’t fit how I work, and the pricing tier I was on assumed studio rates I no longer need.

What are solo PTs and hybrid coaches actually using? Specifically need:

* Recurring billing on 1:1 packages (4-pack, 8-pack, monthly)

* Workout delivery to clients training remotely between in-person sessions

* A client-facing app that doesn’t make me look like the trainer who couldn’t keep up

What I don’t need: room booking, multi-staff scheduling, anything front-desk.

Mindbody Can’t be Trusted

Companies just told me that when that out services are automatically renewed 12 month out into another 12 month contract that can’t be broken. It’s a cycle that once you are in you are in. And they stipulated that you have to inform them 30 days out of this or you just stuck for another year. No email or contact informing you of your year starting over. Do not trust these people

Franchise Technology Fee $1,000

Is the franchisor over charging me excessively for this? We use MindBody and have three locations. Members can use their membership at any location and book through MindBody.

Renewed Mind͏body last spring after agonising about it for two months and now I'm regretting it again. Pricing keeps creeping, features I want sit behind the next tier up, and my members keep telling me the booking app is confusing.

I run a small pilates studio, two locations, around 220 active members between them. I need class booking that doesn't break, recurring memberships, waitlists, a member app that doesn't look like 2014, and basic reporting on retention.

What did you switch to and was the migration as painful as everyone warns?
