Islam Makhachev says he was only 182 lbs against Ian Garry

"I didn’t focus on gaining weight in this camp like the last time.

And I think it was noticeable in the fight that I wasn’t as big. I was almost 83kg in this fight. I was way bigger against Jack."

(via prostokulaki / IG interview)

Just for some perspective, Renato Moicano was 182 lbs when he got into the cage at UFC 311. Paddy Pimblett, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje can also get up to 180 lbs on fight night.

So Islam fought when of the best Welterweights whilst at the same weight in the cage as Lightweight... Impressive he still got the win, but unless Islam puts on weight, I am worried to what might happen to him if he fights Morales or Prates who can get up to and exceed 200 lbs in the cage.
