Blue 82's Final Form After 2 Years

Still mostly stock parts aside from wheels, shocks, drive shafts.
Track width is 1cm wider in the rear with 5-to-7mm hex adapters that have extra width, but I decided to make the front end narrower using direct adapters. The wheelbase is 1cm longer due to the rear 4-link but the ride height counters it.

Current stage of my MN82S

Hey guys, just wanted to quickly share my ride in it’s current state:

  • metal bead lock wheels with some soft and sticky tires (62x22mm)
  • body lift kit
  • leaf spring delete (currently running trailing arms, these do not really work the way I’d like so about to do a 4 link swap)
  • some cosmetic accessories

I already got metal axles, driveshaft, Injora 59mm shocks and the 4 link conversion kit on delivery. I also ordered 1.3 inch wheels with 68mm tires to see what fits best.

Feel free to let me know what you think about my rig plus tips and tricks as I’m new to the whole RC crawling/overlanding hobby :)

Sons mn82 is broken, please help

Hi 👋

The mn82 of my son needs some love after about a year of overwhelming fun with this little beast.

The mn82 can only drive backwards. Of course I want to repair his loved RC but this is the first time I have to repair a RC.

Can someone help me to determine the correct spare parts I need to order from ali?

Of course I plan to order the upgrade parts and not the original plastic ones.

Here is a short video of the good boy trying to drive forward and backward.

I think that I need to order the front and rear axle and the drive shaft. All in metal. Like these ones here:

https://a.aliexpress.com/\_ExX5VRG

Oh, and if someone could tell me whether I need to order new wheels because of the strange movement of the front wheels, I'd really appreciate it 😁

Thanks in advance.

Night test of the trailer

Night test of the trailer with automatic solar-powered lighting support; it folds up for towing. I reused the original arms and servo mount from the MN82S and an old outdoor solar garden light.

Metal steering cup upgrade help

Im trying to do the upgrade and I guess I’m missing something. How does this install? I was told these kits can go right on a stock MN82 but this doesn’t seem to be the case. Any insight appreciated.

Channel 3 activation on the MN82 for winche

anyone got any. manuals for the mn82 or mn99

I just found this sub off the regular rccars sub ... didn't know this one existed. But I've got an mn99 build kit on the way, and an mn82 RTR otw.

I've been building full size cars and trucks for a while, enjoy playing with rc, but honestly like fixing / building them more than running them lol. I figured the mn99 will fill that niche for a minute. Sadly couldn't find an mn82 or other kits ... Was also looking at the wpl km series ... but they're all sold out everywhere I can find. I know this isn't that place, but if anyone has any of those kits I'd love to have a link.

Anywho my real reason for coming here, I'm looking for any parts manuals, build manuals, or diagrams that may exist for either of these cars. I assume they won't have any instructions and I'll just have to figure it out ... which isn't a problem, but it's killing me and I wanted to look at any parts diagrams that may exist.

Upgrade to my MN82 rc

Is this a good deal. Will the receiver work with my stock transmitter. Will it be more strong motor no more whining noise from motor?

Advice on Brushless conversion

Hi,
I made a post last year on my battery consumption, and I still have the issue. I think rubbing is part of the problem but even with body raisers, I still have the issue. I am going to try raising the body even more, but I think the stock ESC is also not playing in my favor and the battery cutoff is too high.

I want to try swapping to a brushless kit (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010089223223.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.7917nk5Lnk5L8A&mp=1&pdp\_npi=6%40dis%21CAD%21CAD+135.84%21CAD+67.99%21%21CAD+67.99%21%21%21%402101d97817783699252627971ecbfb%2112000051099356417%21ct%21CA%211902039621%21%211%210%21). Did anybody already install this exact one ? How is the ESC/Motor combo ? Do you get better or worse battery life ? Is the 21g servo worth upgrading ?

Kit includes motor, gearbox, ESC, and compatible receiver.

I also want to try a lipo battery, since the ESC accepts 3S. With this setup, does the 3S make the model go much faster ? With the MN receiver, will the ESC be able to switch between crawling and fast mode like from factory ?

Thanks for the answers !

Current setup :
- big tires

- metal gears and driveshaft

- metal body raisers

- metal rear suspension kit

- stock electronics

Battery type

What batteries can you use with the stock mn82 esc and motor? I was looking at some lipo but didn't know if they would work.

Help with replacing shocks onto mn82

Hey everyone, so I bought these zerorc 59mm shocks from aliexpress, and added the oil onto them, and when I came to put them onto my mn82, they wouldnt fit.

I noticed that the problem was with the bushings (or bearings whatever they call it) because theyre too big to fit in both the top and bottom part where you're supposed to put the shocks at

My ask is: how do I solve this? This is probably my first time modifying my mn82 because I kept it stock for years until now. Please try to explain in terms that are broad and easy to understand. Thanks

Upgraded MN82s

My MN82 has gotten a few upgrades, since every upgrade seems to reveal a new problem :D

- New tires

- Resulting body lift

- Front & rear shock absorbers / springs to improve handling

- Plus custom-designed and 3D-printed leaf spring knuckles

- Metal drive shafts, because the travel length is higher for the body lift

- Conversion to 18650 batteries, more run time

- ESC / brushless motor / receiver upgrade since the old board was defective (high battery consumption)

- New servo, stronger to handle the larger tires and the higher weight

- Front and rear axles upgraded to metal; axle bodies still plastic, since a front axle knuckle was broken

It’s running really well right now! Thanks to the MN receiver, I can also use the original remote control and lighting. To make the light work on the new receiver, the plug needs to be modified slightly. To do this, you need to cut off the tabs so that it fits into the receiver.

Now the only weak point left is the plastic main gearbox. So far, it’s holding up :D

A second MN82 so far only has a body lift and the big tires. That one’s for the kids :D
