Pillows to match my 4th of July Quilt

Finished my quilt over the 4th of July weekend then got busy with life. Worked on pillows intermittently and seemed to take forever. My own fault though after making one I realized that they needed French seams so that the fabric wouldn’t unravel each time I swapped out pillow covers. Also learned that I should have made the piping wider than 1.25” so that I’d have more width to make French seams with the lining. In the end very happy with the results. Thanks for looking🥰🇺🇸🪡🧵
Pillow inserts are from IKEA, 20”x20”
Quilt pattern is a basic 9 patch

Here’s a new wall hanging size top that I created today. I feel that it has a Frank Stella feel to it. It’s 31 x 37 inches.

Which is better for a baby blanket?

I have 2 choices, make more blocks so it’s a bigger blanket or keep it at baby/crib (48x48) size for my friend who is having a baby in the late fall. Which is a better choice? Any blocks not used for the top will go into being part of the backing.

Is it wierd for me to keep a quilt from an Ex?

Hi. I am a quilter, and know what goes into each blanket that is made. My exes mom made me a quilt from leftover scraps from his blanket and gave it to me for my birthday. I broke up with him in May of 26 and i still have it. No one has asked for it back, and I want to keep it, as i know its worth, but dont know if its like, ethical?
