Cardiovascular technology vs nursing( McMaster)

Hey everyone!! I recently got accepted into mcmaster BscN and Mohawk cardiovascular technology. I am a bit hesitant which to go with. If you have any info or insight about both programs please share it and help me.
I do like nursing however I worry about body fluids that I might come in contact with which is annoying.
Also I am a mature student/ a mom if that makes any difference.
I love both programs but job availability does make a difference. What do you guys think?

diagnostic cardiac sonography 717

hey so I got an admissions offer and i’m torn between moving for this or commuting to another college for the same program. I don’t want to commute but a major thought to why is due to clinical. It’s mentioned that we could be placed anywhere (Ottawa, etc…) so I would likely have to move regardless the next year and i’m relying on osap heavily so does it make sense to accept mohawk but struggle financially or commute and move for the second year elsewhere. anyone been through this?? Are clinicals at any other locations?

Clinical placement semesters, how do they work finance-wise?

Would I count as a full-time student during a semester that is just clinical placement + one distance liberal arts course, especially if clinical placement does not last the full usual semester? Can I apply for OSAP for a clinical placement semester? Please let me know how it worked for you generally. Especially if you have completed the CVT program semester three.

Waitlist for imaging programs (pre health + degree) 😂😂

LMAOO so finally OCAS sent my transcript from Niagara College. Some background, so NC has a pre health option program where they reserve 3 seats for sonography and rad. I thought I was pretty competitive the whole semester, finished around a 93 average. I also have a BA from UW which I thought would make me a strong candidate.

93 average, degree, some years of healthcare experience (doesn’t get factored in though) and couldn’t even get top 50 😂😂😂😂😭.

I talked to someone else here a week ago and they had a 95-96+ average from NC pre health and also couldn’t even get top 25 or something. The fact that both colleges give little to info regarding pre health and the competitive programs is ridiculous.

I luckily got into Michener for MRI though and plan go going this fall!! but these two schools need to get their shit together because the amount of people who thought they had a decent chance and got played is crazy.

717 and 769 post grad eligibility showing as 0/1

Hello i’m seeing alot of people get their offers for 717 but on my application i’m still seeing post grad eligibility showing as 0/1? I applied before equal consideration too, is anyone else in the same boat? Is the academic team still getting to all the applications?

Just Got Off the Waitlist for the PN Program 2 Weeks After Classes Started!!!

I got off the waitlist on May 12th for the Practical Nursing program that started May 4th, so I’ll likely be missing almost 2 weeks of content. I’m really nervous about being far behind before even starting I don’t want to fail.

I’m also commuting from Toronto to the IAHS campus, which is adding to my anxiety. I was thinking about possibly transferring to a September intake closer to home after this semester, but I’m not sure if i can.

Has anyone else started late, commuted from Toronto, or transferred after Semester 1? Were you able to catch up okay?

Any advice would really help

Best way to upgrade high school prerequisites?

So I need high bio, chem, and physics marks. I’m looking to do these online, what are the best options that Mohawk accepts?
TVO ILC? I’ve heard bad things about them but I can’t really find any other distance/online sites/courses

My local college only has in-person and I just don’t have time to do that. I’m working through the day and planing to do the coursework at night/on weekends

I’m building a third space for Hamilton creatives

I realized lately that I’ve been working in an echo chamber by myself. I’m starting a local, low effort hang for digital media creatives. These are coders, animators, graphic designers, UI/UX designers, motion graphics designers.

We’re going to meet up at local board game stores and cafes (maybe some small event spaces) on slow days. It will be a space to call on one another, talk about open projects, and just meet up. No pressure, just a community. What kind of space works for you?

I don’t know for sure where to host the first meetups yet, so I’m super open to suggestions.

Should i apply now or wait until after BSc

Im wondering if i should even apply to the Rad tech and the Rad therapy programs at mohawk now (grade 12) or should i wait till i get a BSc in physics.

My average is about 90 and i really like the idea of doing Rad tech or Rad therapy but im worried ill just get rejected and very dismotivated. Im thinking Medical physicist as a backup or trying to apply to other imaging programs after BSc in physics. More or less wondering do i even stand a chance, or should i just throw it out there anyways.
