Missing Diabetic Cat in Moncton - please help!!!

Update: he was seen on princess street last night around 2am but got spooked and ran off before we could get there, and hasn’t been spotted since . If you like in the downtown Moncton area would you be willing to just check around your house? Sheds, bushes , latticework, under steps or decks? If you have some, could you possibly leave out a bit of food out at night with water? At least if he eats a bit, his sugars won’t crash and it’ll give us more time to find him.

——-

I’m posting this on behalf of my family living in downtown Moncton.

Our diabetic tuxedo cat Boots got out last night in the area of Park Street and Bonaccord Street in downtown Moncton.

He hasn’t eaten or had his insulin since last night and after 24-48 hours of no food or insulin his body cannot process glucose and resorts to rapidly breaking down fat, releasing toxic acids into the bloodstream. This is a severe, life-threatening metabolic emergency could cause death!

He has big double paws and his right side has been shaved with a Freestyle glucose monitor on him. Please send me a message if you spot him or have any questions!!!

*potential spotting around 6pm on dominion st?? Not 100% sure if it is him, but someone on a fb group said they saw him a few hours ago, If anyone lives around that street !

Thinking about moving here

I (25m) am looking for somewhere to move to and it seems this Moncton is maybe a good fit? Far, Far away from anyone I know and love/hate. Will be cutting contact with everyone I know. Currently live in Western Canada.

I am poor, don’t really have my degree yet but if I end up getting it I can only stomach a year of being here. So I plan on leaving in about 22 months from now. Only have that much time until the incest babies that made this incest baby (me) force me to create more incest babies with another incest baby

Only question is how much would I need to save up? I hope to try to get a job near here before moving but it’s unlikely. Don’t mind doing literally anything (I would rather eat shit than continue living here with my family). I make about 900 net a month working part time.

I don’t mind working shitty jobs while applying here for better positions more tailored to what I know. I just need a plan, otherwise my mind will plan other things :/

Codiac Transpo, you can't get the student discount unless you’re attending a local post-secondary education? So Mount A, nope. UNB, nope. NBCC not from Moncton campus should be nope

You would think they would mention that on one of these websites that if you want the student discount, you need to be attending a school in the Moncton area, even if your government ID is Moncton. Apparently, working students who don’t attend local post-secondary education should pay full price to get to work student jobs or travel within Moncton. If you attend one of these and have successfully gotten the discount, please let me know so I can make my letters to city hall know that it must have been personal then.

Problem with basement odour

Does anyone else in the carriage hill area get a fishy odour in their basement?
Electrician checked. Plumber checked. City flushed sewer lines. It’s driving us insane.
Seems to get better when we run a dehumidifier 24/7. Our home is approx 19 years old. The smell is awful tonight with the high heat and humidity. Please enlighten me with your ideas! TIA.

Nail salons

What’s some of your fav nail salons for acrylics? I’ve tried 3 different spots around Moncton so far and everytime I end up with rings of fire or overfiled sidewalls - which I pay over 80$ for of course. 😭 I just wanna find a place that won’t wreck my nails and leave me in pain

How do I access remote prescription renewal now??

I need some prescription renewed, but I'm having to much trouble finding where to get it done online.

My last renewal was done through the pharmacy, and I'm pretty sure that means I can't get another until I get one through a doctor/NP. Unless that changed?

I'm so friggin' confused by NB healthcare in general. 😭

Canada just cut a hole in the roof of a working nuclear reactor, hauled out eight steam generators weighing 100 tons each, and lowered new ones into the same hole, bringing the reactor back online seven months early to run another 35 years

People just say the darnedest things

I wanted to post this interesting exchange between two individuals, one claiming the government provides wage subsidy to temporary foreign workers and newcomers, which in-turn incentivizes employers to choose them instead of locals/whites/Canadians for job openings. And another person claiming that newcomers are eligible for such wage subsidies ( illustrated in the last screenshot) and that Canadians getup to 50% wage subsidy while the newcomers are taxed.

I am all for healthy arguments. But one cannot pretend the conversation did not happened once the truth is out.

Newcomers/ temp foreign workers are different from refugees. And therefore they are not eligible for any of the subsidies offered for employement. Newcomers often spend a lot of money to come here, so they aim to get higher paying jobs. Which also means they will no longer be eligible for GST benefits, rental support, grocery support, etc. Hoever, they do have to pay tax on their income like everybody else.

It is ok if someone is happy with their incomes. But in a country that is facing productivity issues, the employer will always look for efficient ways to hire.

If it works for the government, if it works for the employers, and if it works for job seekers may be they are not the problem.

Tattoo coverup recommendations

Any recommendations for a tattoo atrial who is good or specializes in cover ups? It’s not very big, about 5-6 inches but it is dark. I know it will have to also be dark, but it may be able to just be fixed or reworked somehow. Thanks

I guess I'll show my Snowbirds photos too.

Was a quick show but I enjoyed processing a few pictures I took during the show. I particularly like the high key (almost black and white) shot.

Let me know what you think!
