Hullo! This game looks pretty fun and finally a skirmish game I could convince my partner to play with me.

However I've seen this asked a lot without a clear answer (read posts from past few months). The site is also a bit confusing as I have to get into each warband individually to see their keywords.

I've picked up the L&D starter, and the next set recommendations are a bit all over - some said any troupe is fine but thematically they don't mesh

The blog posts are also a few years old and I'm not sure if newer sets have come out that make better sense

There's a recommendation to get the Fright Brigade set which looks great but if I'm reading it correctly doesn't have any characters just psychopomps? I would still need to get another character for a full team? I'm trying not to overspend initially. Does the Nanny work well?

The next steps for the fauns are a bit more straightforward, so I'm not too worried

Whilst I love almost all Moonstone sculpts unequivocally, I don't really find myself getting on with Delahye's whole 'missing torso' thing. Can anyone recommend any good alternate models that still capture the style of moonstone, and depict some similarly davey jones-esque design ? I really enjoy him mechanically, and have a copy of the real kit! Just looking to find something that I aesthetically vibe with a little more.

After playing a few starter games I'm looking to buy more models. My problem is I like, and want to paint, all of the models. It's giving me some analysis paralysis.

I'm not looking specifically to expand on what I have, just to pick out my next full troupe to aim for.

I'm reading through the posts on Goblin King Games, but I'd like to get direct personal opinions? What troupe lists have you found fun to play (and at least reasonably effective)?
