Making the worst possible Muse setlist, day 19

At this point in the concert, Matt simply stands at the microphone and repeatedly chants:

“Ppppwopa!”

The crowd is expected to respond:

“Ganda!”

This continues for an excruciatingly long time. There is no backing track, no drums, no guitar, no bass, just Matt saying “Ppppwopa” and thousands of people responding “Ganda!”

Eventually, Chris appears to become bored enough to pull out his phone and call his kid. He casually has a conversation onstage while Matt continues the chant in the background.

After several minutes, Chris hangs up, looks around as if expecting the song to have ended, and realizes Matt is still going.

The crowd, now completely committed to the bit, continues answering every single “Ppppwopa!” with “Ganda!”

Eventually, Matt says one final “Ppppwopa!”
The crowd responds:
“Ganda!”

Silence.
Matt nods solemnly.

Whats the next track?!

Pit view did Matt dirty

Went to the Dallas show the other day and was a row behind barricade. Everyone around me in the pit was having a blast with this POV of Matt on the LED screens above the stage

EDIT: After reading multiple comments that said they had a similar/worse angle at different sections, I can't help but wonder who was in charge of this visual for a concert experience 😭

Matthew Bellamy has passed wind, aged 48

My thoughts go to his family and friends in this troubling time.

Making the worst possible Muse setlist, day 18

The next Muse song seems to be Assassin, and for the first few seconds everything seems normal. Then Matt announces that the drums will be handled by none other than Lars Ulrich.

The crowd immediately erupts, not in excitement, but in a deafening wave of boos. Lars walks onto the stage looking completely unfazed, sits behind the kit, and starts playing.

Unfortunately, he is somehow worse than expected.
Every drum fill arrives slightly late and the double-kick parts are sloppy.

The crowd begins chanting “GET OFF THE DRUMS!” while Lars responds by playing even louder.

When the song finally ends, Lars throws his sticks into the crowd. They are immediately thrown back.

What will they play next?

Okay why do some muse fans hate on this album? [Copy pasta by "someone else" in description]

"Never met one

Matter of fact- my mortal enemy in high school loved radiohead and constantly shat upon muse. I mean we didnt have real beef but we were like, idk our whole relationship was how stupid we thought each other was.

Then this dropped. I bought him a copy and just said give it one listen and if its truly not incredible to you, then ill shut the fuck up forever.

Hand to god- im 34 now. I went to that mans sons 3rd birthday party just yesterday. He was my best man, i was his. We’ve been to 6 muse shows together, often vip.

Hope that helps"

Making the worst possible Muse setlist, day 17

The lights suddenly go down, and Radiohead enters the stage from both ends, walking toward each other while snapping their fingers exactly like in West Side Story. They meet in the middle, stare each other down for a moment, and then launch straight into a cover of Muse’s Get Up and Fight.

Muse are standing awkwardly at the back of the stage, completely motionless.

As soon as the song ends, Radiohead immediately walk off the stage in opposite directions, still snapping their fingers.

Muse remain standing awkwardly in the back for a few seconds before the lights go out.

Whats the next song?

Making the worst possible Muse setlist, day 16

Surprise: Muse announces Soldier’s Poem once again, but instead of playing it normally, Matt introduces an actual soldier who walks onto the stage and proceeds to read the lyrics as a completely serious spoken-word poem. He delivers every line with the solemn intensity of someone recounting their wartime experience, while the crowd realizes this is apparently the entire arrangement.

Behind him, Dom and Chris provide all the backing entirely a cappella, attempting to recreate the instrumentation with their voices.

Halfway through the poem, Matt suddenly joins in for a few lines, only to suffer a catastrophic vocal break. His voice cracks and gives out completely, leaving the actual soldier to continue reading while Matt desperately tries to recover in the background.

Dom and Chris, completely committed to the bit, continue their a cappella accompaniment without missing a beat. The soldier remains entirely serious throughout.

What will be their next song?

Making the worst possible Muse setlist, day 15

Muse is now starting Survival, and the crowd immediately notices something deeply wrong: the entire choir has been replaced by rubber chickens.

Every time the choir is supposed to sing, dozens of rubber chickens are squeezed simultaneously, producing an unbearable chorus of high-pitched squeaks. Somehow, the chickens are perfectly synchronized with the music, even hitting the sustained notes.

Matt takes the song completely seriously, passionately conducting the chicken choir as if this is the greatest artistic achievement of his career. The band plays on, not acknowledging what is happening.

What can they possibly play next?

Since the original guy got banned, I decided to finish what he started.

After Matt is back on his feet, Muse resume their concert, but what will they play next?

Yesterdays winner: Falling Down, but Matt falls down off the stage and causes a 10 minute medical break

RFK ended and oddly went straight into Falling Down. Many people were excited when they started playing the Showbiz deep cut, but were a bit less so when Matt started singing, reminding everyone he only spoke French due to his brain damage.

A little ways into the song, Matt fall down off the stage! A emergency medical break is announced which lasts for 10 minutes. At this point, Matt is fine and walks back up onto the stage, and starts speaking English again. It turns out that him falling somehow REVERTED the brain damage. This causes an excited uproar in the crowd, and they finish out the song.

Maybe the chaos is beginning to revert itself?

What will be played 14th?
