The Railgun is a surprisingly solid weapon.

I got the BSK-Void Killer from the event specifically for the Railgun. Despite being excited to use it I also kinda expected it to be perhaps a little gimmicky or at least not the terror you'd imagine. But when I temper my excitement and stick to the back line this thing is nasty. I can harass at range with my lasers and then when someone with especially a damaged CT pops out I can send em to hell. Plus it's really fun to just pop some poor flanker and chargimg brawler in the chest and ruin their big moment. Though I feel terrible whenever I nanage to clip someone in the back as they're ckearly starting to feel safe.

super long range standoff the latest fad?

feels like more and more often one team will just stay as far away as possible and just pick apart the other with some very specific long range builds and it hardly feels like a match, whether you win or lose. It's just boring. has anyone else noticed this getting more common or am I just unlucky/confirmation biased?

edit to clarify: I know that there will always be long range mechs in every match, the ratio just seem to have shifted the last few weeks or so.

edit 2: I don't need to get mansplained how the game works or how to play. I'm only asking if anyone else feels the amount of long range mechs, per match, has increased recently.

3SRM6s, why do I feel I deal no damage? (Frustration + help me pls)

I've recently gotten the Rainbow Crow Ice Ferret mech, and given how I couldn't find a build specifically for it, I decided to try something with SRM6s, since it seems to have a decent focus on those (A<9D<0W0|m<2pR0]S7|<C|XR|XRqR0LH7|lR|XRrD0IK7|OC|<CsD0MK7|<CtX0_S7uX0`S7v<0YS7w90:0:0 build here). A friend told me that I should try to get behind enemies and hit them in the back with the missiles, especially given that the Ice Ferret is one speedy mech for a medium.

So why do I feel like I don't deal any damage?
I'm firing all three C-SRM6s in alpha, dealing 36 damage in one volley. I see every missile connect to the enemy, straight on the back where they should definitely get fully stripped and at least yellowed on the internals, but when I look at their paperdoll, all I see is yellow armor and no damage to internals. Am I doing something wrong? It's not like I have time for a second volley either, because they immediately turn around and suddenly my advantage is gone. It doesn't matter if it's a light or a medium, the armor never gives. And don't even get me started on heavies, they are IMPOSSIBLE to take down even with backup.

I know this game is supposed to be a team game with "long time to kill", but when someone looks at me with some bummass generic laser build for less than one second and suddenly all my armor is gone, I feel like I've wasted both C-bills and my event-free-mech-pick on this thing. I WANT it to work so bad, I'm feel I'm doing everything right, so what is going on here? Why can't I win even when I'm in an advantage? What I am doing wrong?

Urbie Delinquency is on the rise! Do you know where your Urbanmech is now?

Who else would love to see these delinquents in official CGL plastic?

What Was Your First Mech That You Kept from the Start?

Admittedly my first ever mech build in MWO was a Thunderbolt with ERPPCs over the shoulder, but it was the Nova that clicked with me since I got it, haven't sold it since.

LRMs and AMS

Returning player here, played a lot about 5 years ago and just got back into it this week.

Did they change LRMs and ams while I was away? I dont remember them being as popular or effective. For example I build a lrm sun spider back when and it was kinda meme-y.

What mechs should I get from the beach party event?

Basically the title. I've played casually on and off for a while and have a good spread of mechs. I like piloting lights and fast mediums, as well as the super heavy assaults. Thanks!
