Social Nudity: A Treasury of Thought from the Buddha to Jean-Paul Sartre.

I picked this up mostly out of curiosity, but it’s genuinely interesting. Mark Storey (who also wrote Cinema au Naturel, about nudity in film) collected and revised a bunch of his essays from Nude & Natural magazine — and turned them into this book about what some of the great thinkers of history thought about nudity. Thinkers such as Camus, Rousseau, and Kafka. Might be of interest to some folks here.

It’s published by Wolfbait books.

Has Euronat avoided the problems of Cape d'Agde?

We will be staying near Euronat and want to visit the Thalasso to have a nice, relaxing time without any creepiness. Is Euronat a good enviornment for that, or has it got similar problems to Cape d'Agde now?

Nudity and Kitty Biscuits

I, absolutely, love being nude around the house! And when the cat decides to snuggle on my lap, clothed or not, it's a special kind of amazing. But, my little guy has a habit of trying to make his kitty biscuits directly on my most sensitive parts. Yeah, the ones between my legs.

I'm not asking for any advice, or anything like that. I would just like to know if I'm the only one that has to deal with this sort of thing. Feel free to share any other fur baby mishaps with being nude.

Nudism and teenage boys

Anyone have any issues with raising teen boys in the lifestyle. I have 2 always been fine with the lifestyle but had a few issues recently with body confidence etc. We are home nudists and visit resorts once of twice a year including nudist camping.

Nudist Activities I wish I had access to

I’m relatively new to nudism, and while I’ve found it very freeing, relaxing and comfortable, sometimes I can’t help but feel that the things I want to do nude are different than that of the majority of nudists. I, ofc, understand the inherent complimentary nature of nudism and outdoors activity, and I love swimming, sunbathing, and hiking on occasion, but I do sometimes feel limited in that so much nude recreation seems limited to such activities, so I wanted to compile a short list of activities I wish I could do nude as someone who’s a bit more of an indoor, city-dwelling person. If there are opportunities to do these things, please let me know. If theres anyone here who organizes for urban or unlanded communities, please consider organizing these events if they’re at-all possible.

  1. indoor bouldering: I love bouldering, and it’s far more accessible to me as someone who lives in the city and prefers to avoid driving long distances (especially as i’m a relative beginner to bouldering and not good enough to do a lot of the harder outdoor courses). It also feels like something a unlanded club could organize by renting out a gym close to closing hours, and something a bouldering gym may consider springing for.

  2. in line with 1, gyms in general: I don’t have the money to have a full at-home gym, and especially aspects of working out like weightlifting require a lot of equipment in one place. I use the treadmill at home nude when i have the chance and it’s so much more comfortable and I feel more motivated to work harder.

  3. Board game bar/cafe, mini golf, bowling, other social indoor games: I know some clubs have bowling or organize bowling, but not any where I live, as far as i’m aware.

  4. general social mixers, cafes, bars, pubs, ambient settings: in line with being able to relax, chat with friend, make new friends or drink a coffee or a drink and read a book, i feel like opportunities to do this would be really welcome to me

  5. clubbing/dancing: This might surprise you considering it’s on the list, but i don’t actually love clubbing very much, but i do like dancing. A lot of going out sometimes feels reliant on the pretense of your appearance, and doing it naked feels like a way to break that pretense down and make friends easier, and would make it more enjoyable for me, personally. I know events like moon groove or that clubbing event in New Jersey happen—i really would love more of that, especially near me.

  6. crafts markets and classes: I would love to do things like painting, drawing and pottery classes naked. there’s no real good reason to *have* to do it naked other than i’d just enjoy it more if it was.

Why do creators get banned from sites?

There have been a few creators that I have followed in the past that have non-sexual nudity that they have reportedly been banned from platforms. YouTube, from what I understand, has a censorship policy which nudity doesn’t get allowed. But then, I see nudity on X.com with sexual content, and those creators are saying that they are banned from X. I’m thinking that maybe they are using this being banned to make content on sites with paywalls to make money. This actually does damage the credibility of naturism and nudism as a way of life. They’re saying that they’re promoting female body freedom and empowerment, but they have a paywall, that you have to pay to see them nude. I mean, we pay at the gate to nude venues, which it costs money to run those facilities. That’s an understandable barrier to entry. AANR is a multi faceted organization that provides support and training with lobbying efforts to promote and preserve our rights as nudists, again, they provide a service, paid membership is justified. However, women who use the banning practices of websites as a platform to advertise their pay content, need to be talked to by other women, because blaming patriarchy only works if the patriarchy exists on every free platform. If you’re going to promote body positivity or women empowering women, do so freely and have a donation option, paywalls are not a good look if you’re truly advocating freedom.

Who do you follow in naturism?

When my family and I got into naturism last year, I started off looking at the available reddit subs (which lead to me starting my own SFW one) then I searched online as I wanted ideas on places to go and to hear about other people’s experiences.

One of the first youtubers I came across was Nick & Lins NakedWanderings on YouTube they have really informative videos covering beaches, clubs, and resorts all over the world. My husband and i love their videos.

They’ve also launched a site called Destination Clothes Free, which looks like it will be handy for holiday ideas as it grows and they are fellow Redditors! u/NakedWanderings.

I’m curious who do you all follow on YouTube, Reddit etc? It would be great if you could share them.

We know what you're thinking. Why are we wearing clothes?

Frankly, out of frustration. And a bit of anger. It happened again. And we are not staying quiet and just accepting it.

We woke up to another Instagram removal today. A completely non-nude beach photo promoting an interview, flagged as "nudity or sexual activity."

Meanwhile, accounts using see-through clothing as billboards for subscription links thrive in the main feed because their traffic has economic value to Meta. Our message of unremarkable body acceptance doesn't.

There is an undeniable body double standard built into social media infrastructure, and we’re calling it out.

At Tsampika beach

Today I was able to spend a couple of hours at the naturist beach of Tsampika beach. A slightly cloudy and windy day but at times it was quite warm.Oh, how wonderful it was.

Freediving at Blind Creek beach

Yesterday I walked North into the wind. Getting in the water, a little close to halfway to the north end. Current was ripping, and the wind was blowing south. But crossing in different directions from the surface to the bottom. If I didn’t hold onto the dive spool when going down, I could not find it a couple of times. Only saw one time something I could’ve maybe catch the hook on to anchor off to, but didn’t have much time to focus on that. Most of the time it was just sand and sand dollars. The one spot I could’ve anchored off on had a few rocks that were pretty good size and one had a small fish that swam underneath it, but didn’t get a good view to see what it was. Thought I saw some Jack swim below me at one point but never got any of it on video. Found a few dead sand dollars that I collected but more alive than dead, which is good. Unfortunately, out of the 6 to 8 that I found only two of them survived me getting out of the water. Got tumbled pretty good in the waves.

Dating Naked tv show

Hi everyone. I started watching this MTV show called Dating Naked and I wanted to share some thoughts on it :)

Background:

Dating Naked is a reality dating show where contestants spend time on a “secluded” island engaging in romantic-centered activities completely nude. There is one for the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. I haven’t seen the German one but from what I saw of both US and british versions, the main difference is that the UK Version features full frontal, uncensored nudity whereas the US version blurred out intimate parts.

Review:

  • Show just feels like Love Island but naked. Everyone is naked 99% of the time. They don’t use towels when they sit
  • Not surprising but the uncensored UK version was mainly casted by onlyfans models whereas the censored US version felt like they were regular influencer type people.
  • Activities were meh and so far feel very limited; I felt like they spent more time hanging out than actually doing anything to develop any meaningful relationships
  • Pretty cool that the men were able to hang naked without feeling weird
  • The drama felt forced at times but entertaining nonetheless.

I haven’t finished the series but it seems like something to watch with your partner if one of you is into those reality dating shows.

Etiquette / market-research question for naturists

I’m exploring a small side-service idea and would appreciate feedback from people who understand naturist norms.

The concept is discreet, customer-equipped property help for naturist-friendly adults, households, and private gatherings. Possible services would include yard work, gardening, patio/pool/hot-tub area cleanup, painting, event setup/cleanup/hosting assistance, house/property sitting, and similar practical tasks.

The goal would be to let naturist households or hosts get useful help without having to change the normal comfort level of the setting. Customer provides all necessary tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.

I would want this to be respectful, private, and community-compatible rather than awkward or commercialized. Clothing-optional or nude work would only be considered in suitable private settings where expectations are clear and property conditions support it.

For those with real naturist experience:

- Does this seem useful?
- What services would fit best?
- What wording would feel respectful?
- Would referrals be better than public posts?
- Are there etiquette points I should make sure I include?
- Any other suggestions appreciated.

Update

So been I’ve been going nude at home for about a month or so now and I can officially say that I am a full blown believer in nudism! I have no idea why this isn’t more popular in my generation (I’m 24m) there’s nothing else like this feeling! I wish people would understand and recognize nudism isn’t a sexual thing at all it’s all about feeling free and comfortable. With that being said I need more nudist friends (women or men it doesn’t matter!) yall have a blessed day 💙

Words vs Actions, is there a responsibility to promote Naturism if you have been labeled?

I am going to post this on both nude discussion subs, naturism and nudism, just to see what the responses might be. I have a feeling they might be quite different. My question or discussion is pretty simple, but I will put it into context.

We have had the same house cleaners for the last few years. They show up once a month and are in the house most of the morning. They know we are most comfortable nude, and over the years they have asked leading questions to give us this feeling of responsibility to naturism of living out the words. Out of respect, and since we are paying them to clean our home, we feel like there is a boundary that we don’t ever want to make them feel uncomfortable and feel like they don’t have a voice to say so in worries that they might lose work. It is that unclear power dynamic that we want to honor. But over the years they have made it clear that they are curious and even interested in trying a naturist vacation. Or they have shared, “I tried it the other morning and just stayed naked when I had my coffee, it was so peaceful and nice but my kids made me feel a bit awkward.” Little comments like that make us feel like not only is it okay for us to be in our home naturally, but we have a responsibility to promote naturism in a non-sexual way to others that are interested. Does anyone else feel this responsibility? How do you handle visitors or guests that show interest but most likely won’t participate. The only agenda we feel is to not just say something and not back it up with living it out..

I am just using the cleaners for context, it could be any situation that involves social nudity for people that are interested but not convinced that our bodies don’t have to be sexualized.

Grandma returns home from Nudist Camp to find her family with welcoming signs

I stumbled across this video recently on the Tik Tak where a woman and her two children are greeting her mother in what appears to be an airport, carrying signs that say “Welcome home from the nudist camp; sorry you have to wear pants”

It got me thinking: this mother had to explain to her kids what a nudist is and what a nudist camp is like. I don’t think they would lie as a prank on her. Based on their lack of shame in holding those posters, it really seemed like the children were at the very least tolerant of their grandma’s nudist lifestyle. Would be cool if more families were like this. Even if they don’t follow nudism

Starting Fresh

We kind of let our Reddit get away on us over the past...while. It got messy, unorganized, unmoderated basically. It's spring time, and time to start fresh! We're happy to share our fun, non-sexual, indoor/outdoor, good times, naked/topless in Canada content. And we'd love to share yours too. We just politely ask that you stick with the theme, keep it fun, keep it safe, and please no close-up genital pics...that's not what this is about. Thanks everyone. Have fun out there! #getnakedcanada

At what point does visibility as a naturist advocate stop being worth it?

We watched another naturist advocate delete their photos and lock their X account recently. No drama. They just said the platform was no longer serving their purposes and only serving the adult industry... and walked away.

It made us think hard about our own visibility. So we wrote about the toll of being a visible naturist online... the wrong audiences, the fatigue, the question of whether it's actually reaching the right people.

Curious if others have felt this. At what point does visibility stop being worth it?`
