Question about blogging!

I just started registering onto nekoweb, I would say im really new to web coding in general ( I played with toyhouse bootstrap 5 a lot and thats it 😅) but I am intrigued looking into making my own little web space for once, especially on blogging.

I have seen a lot of recommendations to look into zonelets for that, in which i only looked briefly that is just a template that any new entries just being a new html that we have to manually link to for every entries? I might be wrong but that does sound more tedious? What is the difference between zonelets to not using zonelets but manually making htmls ? Do I must make a site design around the given zonelets templates or can I insert it into my current site? Im sorry for such question I yet to understand the deal with zonelets!

Also what is RSS? I was under the assumption that nekoweb/neocities are primarily made as stastic webpage and not for blog?

How to Make a Consistent Website Layout/Frame for Every Page with .HTML?

I haven't learnt about HTML or CSS and have done some searching to try and learn how to make a website layout but each thing I've seen isn't exactly what I'm looking for.

Question: How can I make a consistent sitewide layout with HTML (For footer and header, with consistent font/colours/etc)?

I'm currently using Nekoweb which is a free HTML/CSS/JS website builder, I'm wanting to make the image attached the layout for my website homepage with the frames either side, HOWEVER I only want the title, banner and buttons up the top as well as the Footer on every webpage with blank areas I can write in.

Essentially I want to make a blog or something alike to Fandom.com's wiki layout or the Backrooms Movie site layout.

What are the proper terms to use to search and learn about this stuff, for HTML coders here how can I do this?

This isn't ragebait, I just really need some help with this please 😅

How would I create this kind of menu?

I wanna make a section on my about me page that's like all my favorite things, so I want a menu where you can select either games, movies and shows. Kinda like this:

https://preview.redd.it/ut4ari4wiqjh1.png?width=739&format=png&auto=webp&s=d9b2c904733df43167d9a4c7a10733fca5a3dfa0

Although I would prefer it to be a dropdown menu if possible but from my experience those can be difficult to style. But basically I just want a menu that allows the user to filter what it shows in that section but I have no idea where to begin. I don't know any JS and I really don't wanna learn it lol

CSS not updating

I just updated my nekoweb site to include a Kicya contact form, but the CSS won't update to include the styling I wrote for the contact form. Does anyone know what's going on? I've tried uploading my entire site with a zip file, and replacing the css file manually but nothing helps.

Disability-friendly coding workflow that won't require lots of typing?

Hi!! I ran a site over on Neocities called Aioi, and now I'm in the process of jumping ship to Nekoweb, both for my own reasons and just a general lack of trust/stability with Neocities. I want to make a new site from scratch, but something is in my way!

I was very happy with Aioi as a finished product, although it was totally agonizing to make! I have a condition called EDS, which affects all of the joints and collagen in my body. My hands, wrists, and arms are especially sensitive in this regard, so although I am pretty decent at coding, these efforts can leave me badly injured for days or months, as well as raise my future risk of further injury. I think I have also just struggled endlessly with coding although though I like it, because I'm mentally disabled as well.. the code always muddles together when I write. So I code, but I don't love it!! My code has always been a mess, something of trial and error rather than actual confidence, because no matter how I structure my code, no matter which friendly fonts or themes I use, no matter how much I understand what I am writing in theory, it always hurts my head and confuses me to look at, even something simple like a silly forum signature. I'm looking to start a new website scratch now, but my disability is discouraging me. It's very very hard to want to start a project that hurts you mentally and physically!!

I'm looking for web development tools (free or one-time purchase) that will, to some degree, behave in a "click-and-drag your objects" way, like Scratch does. I know Scratch is more programming-oriented, but I really enjoyed having an inventory, or having something to hold my hand in a way that didn't strip me of my autonomy. I do not want any sort of AI/generative tool whatsoever. My perfect tool, I think, would look like... very user-friendly and visually accessible, not a lot of repetitive/strenuous hand movements (like typing), but still allowed authority over my own work.. don't lock me out of the code! Things like Carrd and Strawpage are cool functionally, for short little biographical pages, but they are ultimately not at all what I want, when what I have created and what I will always strive to create is a corner of the Internet to myself.

I work with HTML, CSS, and JS -- styling is one of my favorite things to do when it comes to web design!! My usual workflow used to be to write on Codepen, then manually ship to Neocities. I think this time, I will probably switch to VScode (for things I have to write and format, like my blog posts). Dictating code will sadly not work for me, I am a very visual and tactile-oriented person. I was looking at Pinegrow, but on top of not knowing how compatible it'd be for my needs, it seems like their 'one-time-purchase' tier doesn't actually promise you access to any future builds, and I'm not really wanting to financially support anything with flimsy caveats like that. <:"D

I also see things like VvvebJs, Silex, GrapeJS... but does anyone know how compatible they are with Nekoweb? Does anyone have success with using these and exporting to Nekoweb? I would appreciate examples!! Thank you all so much for reading, and I hope this post can also be a resource for anyone else stuck in my boat!

ETA: I'm on Win11!!!

How does nekoweb "block" AI crawlers?

I'd hope most people are aware already, but robots.txt doesn't actually do anything other than keeping good bots good. Even so, the FAQ boldly states:

>- we block generative AI crawlers and scrapers from visiting your site, protecting your content

How exactly is this achieved? What technologies are in place to prevent these malicious bots from accessing the sites hosted on nekoweb? Is there an official resource where I read more about it? (maybe even read the source code?)
