what blocklist do u guys use?

I recently installed NextDNS about a week ago, and I switched to the OISD blocklist and removed the default NextDNS blocklist.

Is the OISD blocklist good? It has a lot of entries and says it’s the #1 blocklist on the internet, which is why I picked it.

Is 1Hosts(xtra) good? Also there are so many Hagezi lists that I wasn’t sure which one to pick.

Spotify ads on iPhone

Is it possible to completely remove Spotify ads on iPhone with NextDNS? I followed the guide carefully, but I just can’t block certain links because they make Spotify go offline. Even using the trick of starting Spotify, disabling NextDNS, opening Spotify, and then turning NextDNS back on doesn’t work. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Can't get a website to work after putting on the allow list

The only issue I have with NextDNS is I can't get AL.com to work with it. Even if I put the website on the allow list I still get the "Remove your adblocker to use this site." I went into chrome and deleted the cookies for that website and its still getting the same result. Any ideas how to fix this? There is something obvious I am missing.

Parental controls possible limitations ?

Currently using iOS 26 screen time on child's iPhone 12. looking into adding NextDNS and need to verify if the app installs a profile or VPN on the phone and if it does, can it be easily deleted like any other non MDM VPN or profile? Initially the configuration profile option seemed like a good option, but I guess that could just be deleted if the phone is not MDM. the app can be locked from deletion, but if it is just going to do the same thing and install a profile, it could have the same result.

Nextcloud DuckDNS Fritzbox Dogger

Hi,

I have a problem with my Nextcloud because I'm new to this topic. I've managed to activate port forwarding on my Fritzbox and share it with my PC for internet access, which works reasonably well. My real problem is that I'm using Windows, specifically the NextDNS AIO version. I can easily access the AIO dashboard, but I can't access my own Nextcloud. I use DuckDNS, but it's not recognized and always gives me network errors. I have port 8080 for AIO, but the actual Nextcloud doesn't start; it just shows an error. How do I fix this with my Fritzbox, my Nextcloud, and my DuckDNS domain? I also use Docker, so I'm really desperate.

NYT Games app breaking when NextDNS "Block Page" is enabled (iOS)

Hi everyone,

I noticed that the NYT Games app on iOS behaves weirdly with NextDNS. I can open the app itself, but some specific games like Spelling Bee refuse to open.

To troubleshoot, I created a fresh test profile with all lists and security features turned off. By toggling options back on one by one, I isolated the issue: the games break only when the "Block Page" feature is enabled under Settings.

I verified this multiple times. If Block Page is off, the games load fine. If it's on, some freeze. Interestingly, this issue completely disappeared a few weeks ago but suddenly reappeared a couple of days ago.

I already checked my NextDNS logs, but since every single blocklist and filter is turned off on this profile, there are no blocked (red) entries to analyze. The logs show everything as allowed, meaning the "Block Page" setting is altering the behavior/routing of allowed queries somehow.

Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know which specific NYT domain I need to whitelist to keep the Block Page feature active without breaking the app?

Thanks!

Enjoying Spotify Ad-Free with NextDNS

"Spotify Login Errors"

Hi guys, so I've got this questions about why the Spotify login doesn't work when you're using my method, so let me explain it to y'all.

Problem: We are blocking the spclient.wg.spotify.com domain or something, that domain is where they get the access/login key, think of it as a simple key, it could open a door which is Spotify in this case. Now if we block the spclient.wg.spotify.com domain, it can't request the access/login key, that's why, y'all are having errors logging in.

Solution: To solve that, disable the Ad Blocker first, and open Spotify, login or wait for the Home and Search tab to load. If everything is fine, close Spotify app(remove it from the recents) and enable the Ad Blocker. After that, open Spotify once again and there you have it, an Ad-free music listening.

That was so simple?🤷🏻‍♂️

I've finally spoken up because someone commented in my post lately that my method was a trash because of the login errors, and I have explained the solution over and over again. I hope everyone would get this, this time. Thanks for the support y'all and God bless🫶🏻.

I don't get it ... why are some downloads from some sites in the ~kb/s range on a 300 Mbps fibre WAN (w/ NextDNS)?

What's going on?

Why are some sites (totally random as far as I can see) incredibly slow to load/download? ie. overall website structure (images, frames, etc.) loads in a craaaaaaaaawl (~kb/s) as well as some downloads (actual file transfers via HTTP)?

Other (most) sites work normally and download normally?

I use HaGeZi - Multi PRO + OSID (and basically everything else configured via this guide: https://github.com/yokoffing/NextDNS-Config).

What gives?

Dynamic IP updating

Before I subscribe to NextDNS I have some questions about updating my IP address.

My provider uses CGNAT so I'm on a shared dynamic ip address which I believe would make it difficult to use a ddns service in Nextdns settings as I wouldn't be able to open any ports without issues.

They do offer a static IP so my IP won't change although I'd prefer not to pay the £5 extra a month for this.

I also have Eero 6+ routers provided by my network provider and I would also rather not pay extra for eero plus subscription to use dynamic DNS.

I also don't have a computer that I could leave on all of the time for updates.

Is there any way that I can update my IP automatically rather than relying on my constantly checking for any change.

So far I've been really happy with NextDNS.

Thank you.

Spotify Ad Blocking

Hi people, so I've got this alternative for the Mod ad blocking functionality and I just want to share it with you:>>>

I used NextDNS as the Ad blocker and it's been minutes and there were no Ads that have gotten through the Ad blocker while I was listening to Spotify. I hope it works for the other people here:]

*My configurations are in the photo's btw, so feel free to copy them^^.
