DOUBT REGARDING BRANCH, HELP PLEASE SENIORS!

So i am looking to get EIE branch in nit agartala . I am getting both EE and EIE (but i am not much interested in EE)

My questions are:

  1. How was the placement for EIE in 2025. what was the average and highest ctc offered?

  2. How easy is it to branch change from eie to ece or to cse?

  3. How is the faculity in eie? Are they chill?

  4. Is the college developing or regressing in terms of placements and infrastructure?

Thank you to anyone answering : )

Need honest advice.

I’m 20 years old and currently in 2nd year at a low-tier private engineering college. I’m considering taking admission in a tier-2 NIT, most likely Engineering Physics.

Current situation:

- High fees, financial burden on parents

- Living in rent + stressful daily travel

- Family/health responsibilities at home

- Don’t like current college environment

- Placements are weak (~2–3 LPA)

My goals:

- Mainly govt jobs (PSC/SSC etc.)

- But open to private jobs too

- Want better environment, lower pressure, NIT tag, stronger peer group

The dilemma:

Some friends say:

“You already completed 2 years. Why waste 2 more years restarting?”

But my current college also doesn’t offer strong placements or exposure.

I talked with EP seniors from that NIT:

- Batch size ~16–19

- Around 3–6 students get placements

- Many go for higher studies/govt exams

- Seniors said students who seriously prepare usually manage placements

- Avg package around 6–7 LPA

There’s also branch change after 1st year based on high CGPA, but it’s competitive and uncertain.

So should I:

  1. Stay and finish my degree in 2 years

    OR

  2. Restart at a tier-2 NIT for better environment/exposure despite losing 2 extra years?

Need realistic opinions, not motivation.
