Additional news from LEGACY RISE 7.4.26
- Kid Lykos & Kid Lykos II have put themselves forward as participants in the N-1 Decision Ladder Match on July 18th (if added, would make it a 7WAY).
- Kenoh would respond to Marufuji saying that the loser of their match for Maru’s National Championship wouldn’t be able to participate in the N-1, saying that if he beats Maru, he should take Maru’s position as Vice President of CyberFight.
- Kaito Kiyomiya & Tetsuya Naito have seemingly announced that the winner of their match on July 18th will be the next challenger for the GHC Heavyweight Championship, facing the winner of Haste vs OZAWA.
- Kaito Kiyomiya would attack OZAWA, only for Yoshiki Inamura to come out and try to break up the fight, leading to Yoshi Tatsu getting involved as well, with Kiyomiya & Inamura beating him down, with OZAWA oddly not coming to his defense. Afterwards, Inamura would try to get OZAWA & Kiyomiya to make peace (in solidarity of them being named the “Big 3” of NOAH by ShuPro magazine).
Kenoh demands the Vice President position, as well as the belt.
Kenoh has demanded that when he defeats Naomichi Marufuji for the GHC National, Marufuji hand over not only the belt, but also his position as Vice President.
Naturally, Marufuji wants compensation should this happen, and has said that in return, Kenoh gives him 'The Kenoh Channel', which he will rename, 'The Marufuji Channel'.

Pro Wrestling Noah Holds First Major Event in Osaka in Two Years - Yoshiki Inamura Discusses the Osaka Event and the Current Appeal of Noah!
Opinions/hype for Summer Epic
We are approaching Summer Epic in Osaka which not only feels like a make or break show, for both venue choice and the card itself, but it’s also probably the best card, on average, that NOAH put out in years, so I wanted to know how you’re feeling about it. I’m pretty hyped for the show and I feel there’s potential to have a Show of the year candidate, but I also recognise the risks, if this shows flops attendance wise with such a strong card it may set NOAH back a bit and discourage the company from running similar events in the future.
How about you? Are you excited about this show? Are you looking forward to any match in particular ora any possible storyline development? Thank you for your answers.
Sick of NOAH’s lack of consistency?
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, but I feel like the current Pro Wrestling NOAH has a tendency to disregard its own traditions and continuity.
Take the Global Tag League (GTL), for example. It had been running since 2008, and they even found creative ways to keep it alive with empty-arena shows during the pandemic. But then, they just didn’t hold it from 2021 to 2023. In 2024, they suddenly introduced this random "Victory Challenge League," making us think that was the new direction—only to put it on hiatus for another year and bring back the "NEO Global Tag League" this year. Look, we got the unexpected gift of "Jonetsu MAX" this year, so things turned out happy in the end. But this attitude of changing things constantly on a whim is not a good look.
Even if they had to change GTL to a tournament format instead of a round-robin, or hold it in smaller venues like Shinjuku FACE or Shinkiba, they should have kept its history alive. The same goes for the Junior Tag League.
Look at NJPW's G1 Climax or AJPW's World's Strongest Tag Determination League. They are widely anticipated by wrestling fans across Japan as the "Midsummer Festival" and the "Year-End Tradition," respectively. Of course, that's partly because they are the flagship series for both promotions, but their long, unbroken history plays a massive role in that prestige.
Meanwhile, NOAH's N-1 Victory shifts between summer and autumn, and the finals venue changes constantly.
At this point, what events in NOAH's annual calendar are actually locked into a specific time and place? The only ones that come to mind are the Ryogoku Sumo Hall show at the beginning of May, the Kawasaki show in August (Hajime Ohara's hometown), and the New Year's Day Nippon Budokan show.
And even that Budokan tradition is breaking next year because they couldn't book the venue. Instead, they've set up a New Year's Eve show in Yokohama and a New Year's Day show at Korakuen Hall as replacements. Come to think of it, there was also that year they ran Ariake Arena on January 2nd instead of January 1st. (Apologies to anyone who wiped that nightmare from their memory for bringing it back up).
I've heard that even when NJPW's popularity dipped and the Tokyo Dome was empty, they kept running Wrestle Kingdom—even prepared to take a financial hit—just to protect the brand value and maintain their track record of using the Dome.
Next year's New Year's Day slot at the Budokan was given priority to a massive Japanese singer's anniversary concert, so I guess it can't be helped. Still, it's incredibly disappointing because "New Year's Day = NOAH at the Budokan" was finally starting to establish itself.
They should be focusing more on locking down and building up massive successful traditions. For instance, Kenoh's hometown shows in Tokushima, held in June of 2023 and 2024, were successes two years in a row. They should really make things like that a permanent fixture.
On a smaller note, there's also the issue of series theme songs. I absolutely loved the N-1 theme songs from 2023 and 2024, but it seems like they won't be used anymore, which is sad. When you hear NJPW's January 4th theme song, for example, it instantly creates that atmosphere where everything is building toward the Tokyo Dome.
What do you all think? Does this kind of stuff not bother you that much, or do you feel the same way?
NOAH will have its final show at Shinjuku FACE on July 8th, headlined by Tetsuya Naito vs Daiki Odashima in a first ever singles encounter.
Additional matchups announced for the card as of now:
- FINAL RUMBLE in SHINJUKU (over-the- top-rope Battle Royal, with participants to be announced on the day of).
- Shane Haste, Manabu Soya & Yuki Iino vs. OZAWA, Masa Kitamiya & Takashi Sugiura.
- Hiroto Tsuruya vs. Midori Takahashi.
Serious question.
How would you react if World Famous Lord YOSHITATSU became GHC Heavyweight Champion? This is the championship opportunity for World Famous Lord YOSHITATSU. This is my dream and I want it to come true. I root for World Famous Lord YOSHITATSU and I send Him my words of support and wishes to come back to in-ring action as main eventer. If World Famous Lord YOSHITATSU became GHC Heavyweight Champion, that would be the best day for professional wrestling and I'd award the match with ten stars. That would really make me happy in my life and it would prove, that World Famous Lord YOSHITATSU is destined for greatness.
NOAH LEGACY RISE 6.25.26 - Shane Haste (c) vs. Tetsuya Endo - GHC Heavyweight Championship - Result & Aftermath
Haste would hit the “Death Valley Bomb” on Endo to make his second successful defense.
Afterwards, OZAWA would come out and say he would translate Shane’s words to the crowd in Japanese (taking the place of the absent KENTA), only to then mistranslate everything Shane said, taking the piss at the Champ (saying that the crowd would be “hotter” with OZAWA in the main event).
It was confirmed that OZAWA will be Haste’s next challenger for the Belt.

NOAH LEGACY RISE 6.25.26 - Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI (c) vs. Manabu Soya & Yuki Iino - GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship - Result & Aftermath
After overcoming BUSHI’s Black Mist (with Iino even wiping it from Soya’s face onto himself) and rallying with the cries of “PASSION!”, Soya & Iino would hit the “Passion MAX” double-team finishing move on BUSHI to get the pinfall and become the NEW Champs!
Afterwards, the new Champs were attacked by Masa Kitamiya & Takashi Sugiura, who announced themselves as the first challengers.
