It was pretty obvious that Dimetrodon was going to get in this roster. So who shall be our 4th contestant?

my first guess was some kind of amphicyonid but, it's not burly enough to be Amphicyon itself and it's not slim enough to be any of the other ones

Happy tuesday everyone. Didn't have much time last Tuesday so I had to skip it, but here we go with the next one. Hope you guys enjoy.

Among the better-known lizards from the formation is Barbatteius, a genus of relatively large lizards with an estimated total length of 80 cm, but other specimens could have gotten bigger. Its relatively robust morphology suggests that it may have occupied the role of a medium-sized opportunistic predator within the island ecosystem, potentially comparable in ecological role to modern tegus. Barbatteius may also have served as prey for larger predators inhabiting the island, including Balaur bondoc.

Now slot #3, I surely wonder which creature will fit this slot...

Barbatteius had heterodont dentition without enlarged posterior crushing teeth, similar to many modern teiid lizards. It suggests that it fed on arthropods (Such as millipedes and spiders), small vertebrates (such as amphibians, turtle hatchlings, smaller lizards and maybe multiturbeculates) and plants.

The name Barbatteius Means "Tegu from the Bărbat River", with "barbat" in reference to the river the fossil was close to and the suffix "teius" in reference to a genus of teiid lizards.

With Anomalocaris getting the 1st slot, it’s not that surprising, considering it’s an icon. Now on to the 2nd one!

We could make a subreddit called something like r/hellcreekformation or smth like that where people act as the species they set their fl4ir on, and kinda act like it, like in r/antsinanantscolony or the bees one maybe?
