Translation and Rune check for a Tattoo (German -> Old Norse -> Younger Futhark)

Hello everyone,

I am getting a geometric/blackwork Viking sleeve and want to include a message to my son. I want to make absolutely sure the Old Norse translation and the Younger Futhark (Long Branch) transliteration are historically accurate before getting it inked.

Original Meaning (German): "Geh deinen Weg, mein Sohn. Doch in meiner Halle hast du stets einen Platz." (Roughly in English: "Go your way, my son. But in my hall you will always have a seat.")

Proposed Old Norse Translation: Far þinn veg, sonr minn. En í höll minni átt þú ávalt sæti.

Proposed Younger Futhark (Long Branch): ᚠᛅᚱ ᛬ ᚦᛁᚾ ᛬ ᚢᛁᚴ ᛬ ᛋᚢᚾᛦ ᛬ ᛘᛁᚾ ᛬ ᛁᚾ ᛬ ᛁ ᛬ ᚼᚢᛚ ᛬ ᛘᛁᚾᛁ ᛬ ᛅᛏ ᛬ ᚦᚢ ᛬ ᛅᚢᛅᛚᛏ ᛬ ᛋᛅᛏᛁ

Could someone please verify if the grammar, word choice, and runic spelling are correct? Any feedback or corrections from experts here would be highly appreciated! Thank you!

Rune tattoo candidate translation

Hi everyone. If you have a few seconds - can you take a look at the tattoo mockup attached and let me know of it’s doing what I want it to? Here is Link to Image

I wanted “NoGhostsNoRulesNoSurprises” in runes. I realize it basically spelled it out maybe but would appreciate any insights so I can get as accurate as possible.

Before anyone takes the piss as well - I am of 100% Norwegian descent.

The Viking Words Barnsley Never Forgot

Think Viking influence disappeared from Barnsley 1,000 years ago?

Tha

Old English þū (“thou”)

Thee

Old English þē

Old Norse

barn → bairn, leika → laik, gapa → gawp and myki → muck.

Six everyday words with surprisingly old roots.

I’ve put together a quick One Minute History exploring where they came from.

I'm sure theres many more Norse influences around Barnsley and Yorkshire, please feel free to share.

The Elder Edda Recitation

Hi all,

I have started working on a podcast project of me reciting The Elder Edda with English translations being read after the Old Norse is read/recited.

You can find me on Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, and Spotify at @Seidrmathr

The link for the podcast is in this thread and I have also provided a link to my YouTube.

Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/033RKyVnBAHzY2usgoV24O?si=FaKw6PstQm6si_BEaB_sng&utm_source=copy-link

YouTube - https://youtube.com/@seidrmathr?feature=shared

I would love to know what any of you all think about this so far! Feedback much appreciated.

P.S. I’m not a professional singer nor do I consider myself one. I am learning Old Norse as I go through these poems so I don’t find myself to be an expert yet either! If interested keep an eye out for Hávamál soon!

P.P.S. I’m definitely looking for feedback too so any input is welcome!
