Oddities and Curiosities Expo
Hi all!
I'm looking for friends in the Omaha area. I'm (30F) looking at going to the Oddities and Curiosities Expo this Saturday! I figured it was just niche enough to see if anyone else is going.

Hey y’all! By any chance, does anybody here attend regularly the Wednesday evening runs at the Aksarben Run Club? I’ve already been a couple of times now by myself and I’ve been struggling on meeting new people, it almost feels like everyone knows each other already here. Just looking to see if anyone else have had the same experience as me and are looking for an opportunity to socialize a bit more.
I’m a 25 year old Latino guy and I enjoy doing cardio! At the moment I’ve been slowly but surely picking up the pace and developing resistance but certainly a work in progress still lol. Feel free to message me if you’d like to connect and get to meet for the next session! :D
Hi, everyone. I have a weird situation. I have lived here my whole life. I have one adult friendship and my partner who lives in a different town.
I am exceedingly introverted to a crippling level and have locked myself into my own hell. I don't know how to make friends as an adult. I graduated UNO with 0 friends made.
I guess the question is, where do I go to make friends here? I work in CB, I live in a part of Omaha that I can't do much in, and I'm terrified to be seen. But it's needed. Any and all recommendations are welcome, tbfh. I just, am sick of playing this life game on single-player mode ig?
Edit for info: I'm really into fiber arts, go to the Joslyn or another museum 3-4x per month, and lose myself in one of the libraries once a week on average. I don't like sports or booze, but I can talk about hockey well enough. Most of my acquaintances range 2x my age and are older folks who are much more into fiber arts than I am.
Edit 2: NOT LOOKING FOR A DATE
I need about 10 safety cones for rent. I will need it for two weeks. If you know anywhere in Omaha I can rent them, please let me know. I will need between 28inch to 30 inch.
I am around UNMC/Nebraska medicine campus.
Just wondering if there's anything going on tonight where you can hangout and meet people?
What’s up everyone, I’m a 23yo drummer and have some serious aspirations to start a local rock band. The subgenre/s in question will be a mix of indie-rock and punk music. Musical influences include slow pulp, freak slug, feeble little horse, etc.. as well as misfits, germs, & dr.know (or any hardcore punk tbh). I’ve been making music now for nearly a decade, and have intermediate drumming experience since 2013 (practice makes perfect). I’m IN SEARCH of motivated band members, in particular a GUITARIST, BASSIST, and a MALE VOCALIST (already have a 2nd (female) vocalist at the ready). Still perusing band name ideas, but I may be set on “Fake Eye-D” or “Eyedentity”.. Any feedback or participation would be greatly appreciated, and I will be on top of responses to those who are interested! Lmk!!
21 yo, Just moved here and am looking for more friends around my age that enjoy anime, art and music! Im really easy going but a little awkward at first :3
Hey yall I’m looking for friends I’m in Bellevue guys or girls
Hi!! My name is Nicholas, I'm 20 years old (male). I'm looking to meet new people!! I love to watch anime, listen to music, and talk politics. I'm a young socialist, DSA member, and would love to see other politically engaged baddies on this app. I'm friendly and curious. Open to anything. If interested, leave a comment or hit me up!!
Ni Haowdy,
My name is Elizabeth. I moved to Omaha with the intention of it being temporary. Because of this, I didn't anticipate finding friends as abandonment wounds exist in most of us humans and I didn't want to hurt someone if we got close and it was time to move away.
I plan to be here until next spring.
If that is not a problem, I am looking for friends in the area who are interested in doing things revolving around our general interests, hobbies, and lifestyle.
A few things to know:
- I have no contact with any family because they are all addicts and mean. I don't vibe well with either types. If you want a mentor, I can't be that person right now. I am only looking for other people who are presently drug free and on their own healing journey.
- I have complex PTSD that I am healing and doing treatment for. It revolves around extreme trauma with men, so I am not looking for a friendship with straight males. Anyone else is welcome.
- I am anti-religion, so church / Bible study is not an option. I would prefer people who are non-religious as well (pagan, satanic, occult buddies all accepted as well)
- I do not drink or smoke, so no bars and no alcoholics or regular drinkers. Clubs with a dance floor are okay. I love Coven and Breakers. I can handle being around drunk people but I do not want them as a friend.
- I am very physically active, and fitness is a very important factor in my lifestyle. I am a personal trainer and into nutrition coaching as well, but its because it is what has helped me heal from a horrible upbringing. I go to the gym regularly, have a bike, and love to test my strength and stamina in adventurous activities and trips.
- I love learning. Zoos, Aquariums, and Museums are all places I really enjoy visiting. I also enjoy taking local classes, such as Ceramics at True Pottery.
- I love nature. Anything that has to do with being outside and connecting to the natural world is perfect. This includes the outdoor obstacle courses that are popping up.
- I am an adventurous eater and love trying new things. I recently experienced Ethiopian food for the first time at Lalibela and had a great time exploring all of their authentic dishes. I 100% am down to go back or explore more authentic around-the-world cuisine.
- I like to read, listen to audio books, and crochet. I recently learned about a listen and craft group at the library that I am on the waiting list for, and really adore multitasking activities where I can keep my hands busy while continuing to grow.
- I love to travel. Last year I visited ID, MO, VA, TN, WV, GA, SC. This year I visited IL, TX, and OK so far. I love road trips. I love flying. I don't particularly love the bus systems but I will tolerate it if its for a worthy cause.
- I LIVE for music! Concerts are a huge part of my lifestyle. My tastes are very broad - I love Rap, Rock, Metal, Dubstep, Trap, Techno, KPop, Jazz, String symphonies, Piano, a little Country, and everything in-between.
I am looking forward to seeing who this post attracts đź’ś
Edit- I have a busy day today and will get back to replying in a few hours. I appreciate all the awesome people messaging me and commenting here đź’śđź’śđź’ś
Edit #2 (7/15) - Medical procedures and medication trials have been kicking my @$$ all week. I should be caught up on my inbox and post comments by the weekend. I am also compiling a calendar full of dates for a lot of the events and gathers happening in the area. I appreciate your wisdom, insight, and patience đź’ś
Hello just moved to the Midwest I’m 23m and trynna see if there’s anyone around here trynna talk or meet up and chill or something
43M divorced and starting over. In the process of getting an apartment. We moved here a year ago, but the recent separation has left me without a support or social network. Figure I branch and reach other for ideas to meet others.
One plan I have is to check out the writers group at the library.
Big nerd, love to play pc games, DnD. Love coffee, 420 friendly. As I mentioned before, I do want to get back into writing. I miss being around other creative minded people.
Politically, I lean left. I’m respectful with opposing viewpoints, but if we don’t align I don’t want to force it.
Thanks in advance!
I will be around the Omaha area in early August. I’m looking to see if any female would like to be my wedding date!
I'm new to motorcycles and started riding in October 2025 - late to the game since I'm in my 40's. I have a smaller displacement bike (Triumph Speed 400) and am looking for others who want to cruise around and explore Omaha and areas like the Loess Hills Bypass. I recently rode the Tail of the Dragon without falling off of the mountain so I'd rate myself as an ok-ish rider.
If you're a newer rider and are looking for someone to ride with, comment or send me a message.
