Any Malaysians Onewheel Community here?

I have been considering getting this for some time. I recognize that it is quite rare to find one locally, with essentially no retailers carrying it here. Still, do you know any active Malaysian Onewheelers? I would also like to know how shipping to Malaysia works. I am aware that Malaysian law restricts riding it publicly, but I am simply curious.
Quick Google search brings me nowhere.

Anyone NEVER Nosedived? If so, how?

I'm considering buying a Onewheel, but I constantly see wipeout posts (mostly on my FB feed) of people getting injured. Breaking bones, needing surgery, etc. Ones that concern me especially are the ones that say they knew about board pushback but - for whatever reason - they didn't get pushback before the nosedive.

So my question is, is it pretty much inevitable to have a nosedive crash at some point in one's onewheeling life, even if you're careful and aware of pushback?

Has anyone who has been riding for a while successfully avoided it? If so, what are your techniques for doing so?

Speed Loop omfg

Relatively new (under 100 miles) rider on a new GT. I was riding down a long, straight gradual downward-slope road with headphones on and I realized could not slow down. I kept my cool and just kept trying to lean my body back but it was so awkward as the board was leaning back but wasn’t slowing down. Holy shit that feeling was intense panic but I just kept breathing and hoping. I finally was able to slow down right before the end of the road and didn’t crash thank god. I got back after a shaky ride home and googled and found I was caught in a speed loop because I ignored the pushback noises and vibration and got into a condition where the board was at maximum speed and couldn’t respond to subtle feedback. I had switched a few days before to the “flow” profile maybe this contributed. I switched to highline. Any advice from those with a lot of experience if I ever make this blunder again?

27.3 mph xr+

If you put your front foot at the very front and your rear foot as close as you can to the tire push back doesn’t turn on and you can send it but you’re playing with fire we do(already crashed myself multiple times lol all I did is bad road rash) lol

onewheel + camping chair = work from anywhere

lately the weather has been so nice that it feels ridiculous to work indoors. i’ve been taking my lightweight camp chair and laptop outside on my onewheel and hotspotting with my phone. it’s magical

"Aren't you a little old to be riding one of those?"

One of my neighbors is in his early 40s, drives a fancy German sports sedan, and seems to always be on his way to the golf course by the way he's dressed. One day he says out loud, as I'm OneWheeling by his driveway to the community mailbox, "Aren't you a little old to be riding one of those?"

I am old, like deep in my 50s old, so I turn around and without blinking shoot back, "Aren't you a little stupid to be talking?" Which came out way harsher than I intended. He gives a weak laugh, I give a weak laugh, which makes it worse, and I think really hard for a few seconds how to make this less awkward and apologetically say, "Hey, man, sorry about that stupid comment... When I ride, I feel like a thirteen-year-old and thirteen-year-old me was quite the asshat. I'm sorry about that."

With a weak smile, he gets in his car and says, "Ya, no problem," unconvincingly.

My question is... how many days, weeks, or months do I wait before I leave a flaming bag of dog poop on his porch? Kidding!

Sidewinder Motor Cable

I bought the Sidewinder motor from TFL to use with the x7 powertrain, but the cable is too long to use on stock XR rails. Does anyone know if there’s an easy way to shorten the cable?

Girlfriend botched a dismount, board shot into a curb and chipped my hub. Is this rim cooked? (Pint S)

Hey guys, I could use some advice on my Pint S.
My girlfriend had a bit of an incident today. She was practically standing still and tried to do a two-foot jump off. Unfortunately, one of her feet lingered on the front footpad a fraction of a second longer than the other. The board didn't disengage; instead, it shot forward on its own and smashed right into a curb. Conditions weren't great either – it was wet outside, and there was some wet sand on the footpads.
The hub took a pretty nasty hit. I've attached some photos of the damage to the rim.
The good news is that the tire is still holding air perfectly fine. I also took the board for a test ride afterwards, and the sensor/footpad seems to be working perfectly, so no ghosting issues there.
My main question for the more experienced riders is about the hub:
How bad does this damage look to you? Since the tire holds air and the board rides fine, is this purely cosmetic? Should I just file down the sharp edges and keep riding, or is there something else I should check after a hard impact like this?
Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Finally Remembered to Take an Adventure Pic

Cruising around the local lake with my kids a couple days ago, I actually remembered to snag a picture of my OW this time! Meet "Mongoose," so named for its green and gold (yellow) livery—made me think of Master Chief from Halo, and this puppy isn't big enough to be a warthog!

Time for something different

Hey friends - I’ve been riding Onewheels for about 6 years. I’m on my 7th board and probably around 50-60k total miles. I think I’m ready for my first non-FM board. Can y’all please recommend what would be best on my requirements here?

  1. Needs to be plug and play. I hate tinkering. I don’t mind initial set up but I don’t have much free time and I’d rather be riding than fixing my board. I’m more of a rider than a gear head. Can’t break down too often. I try locally get around 10k miles out of a board and would hope for something similar.

  2. Flat footpads. I love the feel of the original XR footpads. I ride 50-100 miles a day and concave is not comfortable.

  3. Flight fins system. I love my fins and the board needs to be compatable.

  4. Long range. I typically ride 25-30 miles at a time.

  5. Tire. I love the maxxis 5.5-6. Carvy treaded tires are for me. Do any boards come with something like that stock?

So that’s it. Is there an out of the box VESC board that would meet these requirements?

Tips for removing side bolts from Onewheel

I watched a video from Float Life and they made it look super simple. I successfully removed all the other screws, but these four bolts on the side are impossible to remove. What I haven't tried yet is a hatchet wrench, but others have suggested a breaker bar. I'm very worried about stripping the bolts. Also disappointed that I haven't seen anyone else with this issue *that successfully managed to remove them*.

How hard VESC tuning

How much of learning curve is there, really. Is there much more to it then adjusting endless sliders? Is there any actual coding or more complicated alignment procedures that are dangerous if done incorrectly?

dealing with wind noise?

ever since i got an XRC i notice that at speed i often get blasted with very loud wind noise. airpods dont really help, sometimes even making it worse. i have a full face helmet but it feels overkill for some of these quick errands i'm running. how are you all cutting that wind noise?

Charger broke is only using hyper charger bad.

I have a gt and my charger broke a few days ago. I have since found a hyper charger for sale for 75 dollars. the home charger is 110 brand new. should I pay extra for a worse charger I have read that the hyper charger is not good for the battery and it would be my only charger if I bought it.

Also if anyone has a home charger theyd like to sell for cheaper I’d greatly appreciate it.

Thank you and have a great day.
